From our first meeting, the owner, Madeline, was informative, and caring, gave us a clear idea of what to expect on our wedding day, and took the time to answer all our questions. Every step of the way, Madeline was patient, responsive, and put us at ease. We even scheduled a meet-and-greet a few weeks before the wedding with Madeline and her husband, Gabriel, who is also a co-owner of the business. We were certain that they would not only care for Oreo but treat him like their own baby. On the day of our wedding, Madeline and Gabriel arrived at our hotel and immediately took care of Oreo. They put on his cute "best dog" scarf and bow tie and handled him while my husband and I got ready for our wedding. They walked him, fed him, played with him, helped him pose for pictures with us, and treated Oreo like family. They transported him to the venue, took him back to our hotel, and stayed with him until we got back. We couldn't have asked for a better company or people to work with! A few months later, our dog was wounded when another dog bit her while the new TK walker was walking her. My dog has a permanent scar on her snout from this incident. Maybe 2 months after this, we asked for some leniency on the fee when we had to cancel unexpectedly and it was past the designated cancellation time that day. To be clear, we didn't insist on that leniency, just asked the owner politely if he would waive it for us that time. He then informed us that not only would he not waive the fee, he would no longer provide any service for our family, leaving us completely high and dry for our pet care. I had previously referred lots of people to TK, but now would not do so due to the owner's unpredictable and strange interaction with us as well as the fact that my dog was injured while in their care.

Our dog eats small bags of kibble because he eats a mostly homemade diet which we supplement with kibble. For that reason, we only use about one small bag each month. Katie's has an exchange policy on dog food: if your dog doesn't like the flavor or brand you buy, you can exchange it for something else. That's good to know when you're buying premium dog food. It is good to know that if our sometimes picky dog doesn't want to eat something, we can always exchange it for something else. We have never had to do so until today. I returned a bag of food that had about 1.5 cups taken out of it. When I walked in with it, I didn't have to explain anything. I was greeted and asked if I had an exchange. That simple. I said that I did have an exchange and went to get a different flavor of the same brand of food that our dog has been eating since he came to us from the shelter in January. I brought the bag up to the front to do the exchange, and it was that easy. We trust the staff at Katie's to help us do what is best for the pets we love.
