    Total Adrenaline

WOW what a day rafting !!! We are avid rafters and today's experience with this company was one of my best river trips ever, total surprise ! We were the only ones on this river, 25 class 3 & 4 rapids. We were moving and grooving the entire trip. Our guide Joe was top notch. He knew the river incredibly well. We had the entire river to ourselves. We will 100% be back soon. Thank you PRC your team was amazing

Best whitewater rafting experience EVER! Between the team and the Canyon river course itself, it just can't be beat! We arrived and were greeted by Sean (owner), who explained the process and got us geared up for the trip. The shop had all the extras you might need and Ginger (owner) was very helpful. Our bus ride to the put in was quick and after a safety review, we very quickly were pushing off and on our adventure. Joe was our guide and he was very informative and a great leader. He had tons of information to share and was quick to point out any slackers in our group! (In a very teasing way, but my teenage son totally deserved it!) We stopped at a hot springs for a dip, and about halfway down we hit another spot for a delicious homemade lunch of black bean and chicken wraps and homemade cookies! Joe noted that the first half of the trip is practice for the second half, and boy was he right. This second half of the river had more successive rapids than any other we've run, and it makes for a fast paced and super fun second half for sure. Previous reviews note that you do need to be aware of your abilities. This is a physical run and requires your attention and skill. The portage was impressive and very well navigated by Joe and the other guides and by Sean who was along for most of the run in his kayak, so that he could provide safety support, and take lots of pictures. Joe made sure that we all had a fantastic experience throughout. Once we'd completed the run, we had soft drinks and a nice ride back to the shop where Sean pointed out several rapids we'd run. Once we returned to the shop, dried off and changed, Sean ran through the pictures for our group, which were priceless! He then helped point us towards our next destination. From start to finish this is a Class A operation. You can tell these people truly care and want you to have a wonderful and safe experience, and memory. *Oh, and they're just damn good people. I got a call later in the day from Ginger who informed me that we had double tipped and she offered to refund one of the tips. * To Sean and Ginger and Joe, thanks for such a great experience. You made my teenagers laugh and smile like I haven't seen in months. Worth every penny!

We went on the Canyon trip. It was just so much fun. The guide we had was Joe, he was great, funny, gave us some random information along the route. We will do it again for sure. Highly recommend.

Wow! This has been my favorite experience in Idaho so far. Payette River Company exceeded all expectations. Ginger made the reservation process easy - they are also very easy to get ahold of. Sean took amazing pictures. Joe, our river guide, was incredibly kind, smart, funny and made our ride safe but exciting. Stopping to dip in the hot springs half way through the trip was such an amazing bonus to the ride. I will definitely be back next year.

Wow!! Best time ever!! There is a reason these guys are so highly rated! If you are looking for a fun rafting trip on the Payette River in the Lowman area, you won't go wrong with this company! It is owned by Shaun and Ginger, who couldn't be nicer and any more accommodating to make sure everyone's experience was great! There were 4 in our group and a total of 4 rafts, 4 guides, 26 people and Shaun the owner on a kayak taking pictures and acting as an additional safety monitor . We felt very safe out there . Our guide Rob was excellent , clear instructions and directions and a great sense of humor. We went about 12 miles downstream, stopped for lunch , which the staff prepared and was delicious, and then we continued on our way... When we got back to the base, we were treated to a picture slide show recapturing our adventure- our day couldn't have been any more fun! So get a little out if your comfort zone and enjoy a day on the rapids!

The "canyon" trip was one of the best times we have had as a family. Thank you Sean, Ginger and our stud guide Tyson. We had a blast. Easy drive from Boise and you will definitely not regret this adventure. Just FYI, to earn the "yellow" sticker you have to have to come face to face with the dragon. #fuzzybunnyslayer

    Nothing better than whitewater!

If you are thinking of booking a trip....do it! My husband and I booked a 2 day trip and had a blast. Everything about this experience was top notch. Joe was our guide and did a phenomenal job in guiding, providing everyone with a positive rafting experience, teaching us about the surrounding natural environment and meeting all of our needs. We have spent time guiding rivers in California and I can honestly say this company has the whole rafting experience dialed. A few highlights from our trip.... -hot springs along the river -delicious food prepared from their garden and meat raised from the owner's family -private camp along the river -portaging the waterfall -knowledgeable and friendly staff We can wait to come back and bring the kids! Thank you PRC you made our vacay amazing.

Staff were very conscientious about safety. The lunch was more adventurous than I was expecting--grilled chicken, tzatziki, couscous, and a vegetable salad, with PBJ sandwiches as an option, and ridiculously good, freshly baked chocolate chip or blueberry & lemon cookies. Our guide Joey was knowledgeable and entertaining. During the day we saw lots of wildlife: tons of trout jumping at caddis flies, a mink, deer, merganser ducks, and multiple bald eagles, golden eagles, and ospreys. The river itself is beautiful. A few tips: You can bring additional food or beverages and leave them on the bus, which meets the party at the lunch spot. Several groups rafting with us brought small coolers with their own drinks and snacks. Probably a great idea if you have any food restrictions. It's recommended that you leave any valuables or electronics (or other water-sensitive items) in your car or in a lockbox with the staff. The guides have some limited room in a dry bag for phones or cameras, but it's not the most convenient to be taking a phone out of the drybag and putting it back in. You will not have cell service most of the day anyway, which was actually rather relaxing. Even the town of Stanley doesn't have great cell service in areas, so you may want to set up an "away" or "do not disturb" notice for the day. Sunblock and a hat are helpful; you'll be in the open sun on the water for most of the day. Highly recommend this company for rafting in Stanley.

Water shoes included were great. Our guide, Eli, was extraordinary. Professional, knowledgeable, funny, and warm, we all felt we were in good hands the entire time. Without being militant, he had us double-check our life vests, and reminded us while bull riding what to be mindful of. Wonderful way to spend the afternoon, we experienced the adventure of the rapids, the calm of the river when he let us know when and where it was safe to jump in, the beauty of the surrounding environment, good conversation about the history and nature of the river, and lots of laughs when winning splash battles with our family on a separate raft. It was our first time river rafting, and Eli was the perfect guide for us. So memorable, and our teen is already asking for the next trip. Cafe/store/grounds/changing areas/bathrooms/lockers were all clean, despite how busy it was and that there were so many people (and kids!) there. Breakfast burritos and ciabatta sandwiches were tasty, as were the cookies, muffins, and packaged ice cream. Complimentary coffee was a bonus. Staff were wonderful, especially in the cafe - accommodating, fun, and all-around solidly kind and wonderful people.

You may also be reading about Rocky Mountain River Tours for the Main Salmon trip, I cannot speak to that, but I know you'll be in good hands there too! Not a river-rat? No problem! But, there is something in you that is drawn to the Middle Fork, as are thousands each year. I am here to tell you that the best crew to do it with is Rocky Mountain River Tours. I would highly recommend RMRT, they're organized, efficient, friendly and experts on the river and off the river with delicious food and comfy camps. I have done other over-night and day rafting trips in Idaho, and I will say that there is something truly magical about the Middle Fork. And, more importantly, there are many magical, fantastic things about Rocky Mountain River Tours. I don't want to give away too much about the Middle Fork itself, but I will tell you all about Rocky Mountain River Tours. First, your trip will begin in the ugly Stanley, Idaho (it's beautiful, but ssshhh, we want it to stay a secret). You will meet Jared, the owner of RMRT, he is one hell of a river-expert and is super organized. He will provide with all of the needed gear, dry bags, wetsuits, tent, etc. He is great at answering all of your questions because trust me, you will have a lot. Jared is also the best because the morning you leave for your trip, he'll let you load the bus 10 minutes before the Stanley Baking Company opens so you have plenty of time to get in line. Trust me, this is a must. Get fuel for your first day on the river! Okay, so you got your belly full of Stanley's finest, you're on the school bus and ready to go to the best classroom in the world, the Middle Fork! Jared will provide you with some of your first lessons of the trip, interpretive tidbits on the way. Forest fire information, plant identification, where to look for elk and wolves, the works. After a long bus ride through the beautiful, I mean ugly and horrible, backwoods of Idaho, you're at the famous, Boundary Creek, the put-in for the Middle Fork of the Salmon. YES! This is a busy place considering you're in the middle of nowhere. Boats, dogs, kayaks, people everywhere. Now, this is important, use the bathroom here! Then make your way to the lead guide for RMRT. Fritz was ours, and he was the best. The guide will give you all the necessary safety information and make sure you have what you need. Then, to the boats! I could on and on about the details, but for the sake of brevity, I will leave you with some important points. 1. Ride with different guides throughout the trip and day. Each guide has a specific set of skills and they all have different backgrounds that brought them to the river. Don't worry, they are all expert whitewater guides and will keep you safe. 2. Get on the paddle boat! It's a fun way to get immersed in the river, but not for a swim...maybe. 3. Hike above camp! 4. RMRT has the BEST food of any trip I've ever been on. Hot carrot cake on the Middle Fork? Yes. And it is best carrot cake you'll ever have, I promise! 5. Ask questions! The guides are all super nice, patient and want to share their information with you. With that said, dig into the library and learn more about where you are! 6. TIP THE GUIDES! These guys and gals work so hard and often live on their tips, so make sure to have some cash or a check with you at the end. 7. Have fun. Take hikes. Write. Take pictures and live it up! RMRT is your group, no need to look any farther. Enjoy the Middle Fork!
