I bought a screamer laptop, and it's like this is the first laptop they've ever built. It crashes constantly, the mouse freezes for 30 seconds at a time, and is actually very slow on the click uptake. I bought this to try the PC world as a long-time mac user, which mine wouldn't crash ever in 6 years. And it was open constantly. never shut down. Ok, I have been a loyal customer for many years, all business computers. I just noticed a re-occurring bill for $250 that has been going on for 5 years. Apparently for a "super easy backup". Brought my PC in to have windows loaded on a HDD. There were other issues with BIOS, which made this process rather difficult for me. They quoted me $70-80 can't remember. Every time I see PC Laptops ads on TV, I feel sad that it didn't work out for me because I truly admire the great things the owner has done for others and wanted to give him my business. . This was a few years ago when I walked into the store hoping to either fix my computer or I'd buy one from them. It was a horrid first impression. The place felt old and filthy. The guy behind the desk was eating and got up to help me but it just felt so yucky in there I let myself out feigning the cost was too high. So little selection too. Brought a desktop to these guys with a bad video card. Good: They were able to diagnose and fix the problem in the same day. The price was reasonable and they seemed competent to fix it. Bad: As part of installing a new video card they deactivated all the antivirus and protection systems on the machine. Understandable that they would need to shut them off but they never turned them back on. It was noticed too late and the machine was later compromised. They get two stars because they did fix the video card problem but the lack of attention to detail really caused some problems later. Could NOT recommend them for repairs. read more

Unfortunately for me, my laptop broke on the during my last midterm on my final college semester. Luckily for me, I took it to PC laptops and everything was right in the world once again. I've sat down to write out this review many times, but then I always put it off. Why? Because every time I sit down at my new PC from PC Laptops I just can't wait to boot up my games and enjoy the awesomeness that is setting the graphics to ultra. The guys at PC Laptops are friendly, helpful, and just pure awesome. I had a specific budget I needed to stay in, but I also wanted to be able to play everything on ultra high without any hiccups. (I know, I can be one of THOSE customers) But Jay and Shane were able to help me get a PC that I am very pleased with. I did have one issue with it (not a service issue or defect or anything, just me being a difficult customer again) but they were quick to assist and got it back to me the next day! I also brought in a laptop that I've had for a number of years. It'd been overheating and running very slowly, but it was a decent laptop that still had some life in it, so I figured I would see if PC Laptops could help me out. They did an amazing job and had a quick turn-around and now my fiancee happily uses my old laptop as it is significantly beefier than her old laptop. Through my entire experience with PC Laptops I couldn't shake the feeling that they were sincerely interested in what was best for their customers and how they could meet their customers' needs. I was only here to pick up tickets for Comicon that I received from Yelp (thanks Yelp!) but they treated me like I bought thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. As soon as you walk in, the whole staff greets you with a AYYYYYEEE!!!!! Hahaha It automatically put a huge smile on my face Andrew was so nice and extremely helpful. After offering me an ice cold beverage, Andrew walked me through the whole process on activating the wrist bands online. He made me feel like I was VIP just picking up tickets! Although the process the activate the tickets was only a 2 step process, he made sure I confident where to get the tickets before leaving the store. Bought an HP laptop for my daughter six months ago. My husband was installing a driver for the internet and other updates when it suddenly shut off. We brought it in for them to run diagnostics on it. After about six hours my daughter was told the hard drive needed to be replaced for $400 or they could sell us a new one. I decided to get a second opinion since the device was less than a year old. Took it to geek squad in Murray who said it was a failed instillation and the hardrive was fine. They were able to reboot it no problem. The only reason why this place doesn't get one star is they didn't charge $40 to run diagnostics. I don't want to get anyone in trouble but this experience was ridiculous and they seemed to only want to sell us a new laptop or spend hundreds on unnecessary repairs. read more

I was able to bring my massive monster of a desktop in, in the time it took me to drive there without an appt. 5 minutes later I had my answer. If you know what you are doing, or are willing to delve into the world of hardware self builds this isn't the place for you. Let me start by saying something. I know computers. I know them inside and out and have worked in IT all of my career, and I am still a customer at PC Laptops. Listen to my tale. I work in, on, and around computers for 10 hours a day, I really don't want to have to sit down and troubleshoot and figure out my own computer when I get home. I want to read a book. I want to spend time with my loved ones. I want to play video games or soak in the bath. I don't want to be googling hair-brained solutions and pulling my hair out over issues with my computer. So I take it in to PC Laptops. I was a bit skeptical at first - trusting someone else to work on my computer, but I'm glad I did. In all the time I had been taking it there, they were courteous, transparent, and above all, damn good. Every time it came back I did the "Read the notes and figure out what they did and see if it's aligned with what I would have done but i'm too lazy to do myself" test, and every single time they have been exceedingly competent in their jobs. And before I forget to mention it, this is a hard place to be upset in. Kind of like Disney Land. Everyone is smiling, everyone there feels like they're on top of the world and that is super infectious. I always leave in a better mood than when I went in. SOOO come tax return season I wanted to get a new computer. I mean, mine was okay. I built it and it took care of me for years. As a reward for its diligent service, I wanted to give it a nice retirement. Tuck it away in a closet, allowing it to rest out its remaining life having done well, and not sending it out because it broke or caught on fire or whatever. So I went in to my trusted repair guys and built out a new computer. I expected it to be more than if I built it on my own. And it was. And that's okay. These guys got me lifetime service and lifetime parts on this computer. Which for me is huge. It was worth every dollar, worth every cent that I gave them for this computer. Because think about it. I was already giving my money to them. I was going to KEEP giving money to them. Now, I don't. It breaks. I bring it in, and listen to this. I'm not making this up. They fix it for free. Because I bought it from them. They fix it. For free. Totally free. My computer is such an important and central part of my life. I trust these guys with it. Explicitly. Thank you to all the employees from Dennis in West Jordan who sold me a computer to the faceless guys who make everything run in the background. You are all part of something great. To anyone and everyone who has ever had a bad experience. I would entreat you to reach back out and actually give them the opportunity to make things better for you. In the prime of my PC hobbyist life I have been a total DIY PC enthusiast. This of course was pre-family, pre-career and pre-home ownership. Now days I get strapped for time just making sure I mow the lawn each week. Spend quality time with the kiddos and of course taking my wife on weekly date nights! Several months ago I found a used Mac Pro desktop on KSL. I picked it up for my wife and I have had it setup. I have been reluctant to put photos on the machine because I don't know what the health is of the hard drive. Having what I consider beautiful and precious children, I don't want to risk losing those memories. There was one time, when we lost about three months of photos that were on an iPhone. It was the worst! Being past my prime, I haven't stayed on top of technology and I don't really have the luxury of time to make multiple trips. When I set out to get something done, it is preferable when I can get things done the first time. I hate guesstimates. So I called over to PC Laptops and I talked to Aaron on the phone, I was in front of the Mac and he was doing some research on his end at the same time. He was able to determine the specific drive type that I needed and the drive was in stock. Aaron set the drive aside for me and I had to pack up my almost four year old boys to come along with me for the errand. Walking into this location I was greeted immediately. I asked for Aaron we talked about the part and had an enjoyable conversation about photo and video editing software for the PC. What I enjoyed about my interaction was that I felt like I was talking with someone who took their craft seriously. In my earlier years PCs were a hobby and now for me at least they are the time capsule for my family's memories. The rep I worked with at this location was a professional and I wanted to take a moment and share the experience. My little guys in the mean time were eyeing a bowl of candy that was in the shop. Once they set their minds to something, nothing can stop them. One of the reps offered them up some candy, very friendly with the little guys. They also offered a cup of water to my boy who was thirsty. That kind of hospitality is just appreciated. **I installed the drive in the Mac and it was the right part for the job. No second trip required, there is no better feeling than when I get to complete an upgrade the first time and everything goes as planned. Thank you! read more

I don't normally post reviews, but felt that I should share the experience I had yesterday at this location. I got a virus on my Dell computer and so I brought my laptop in to see about them helping to remove it. I described to the tech what was happening, and without even opening it or looking at it he informed me that the repair would be $277. He told me that my computer was hardly worth $300 total, so I should just look at purchasing a new computer, that wouldn't have the same problems as this one did. I told him I would "talk to my husband about it" and left. My computer is just 12 months old. Absolutely no need to purchase new, just needed a repair! Super disappointed about the lack of service and how I was patronized. On a happy note, since I bought it through Costco, I called the Costco concierge service and the tech carefully walked me through the problem, told me how to repair the issue and charged me nothing. Computer is as good as new. Don't waste your time at this location! read more

Price Gougers and Scams'!!! If I could give zero I probably would. December 1st of 2020 I went into the store looking for a gaming rig that would be under $1200 that would be enough to give me a more competitive edge. They offered me to lease the computer though another company called Progressive Leasing so I wouldn't need to pay it all at the same time. I payed a $800 dollar down payment and left satisficed thinking that I had made a deal and got a cool PC out of it.(I knew nothing about PCs at the time.) A little later in the month, My Brother who knows more about PCs told me I got gipped. The PC they made me had out dated component that was from the 2010s (DDR3). Knowing I already agreed to pay $1200 for it not including the, I was fine to just finish paying them thinking it would only be around 3 months till payed off. It is now October 15th, 2021. I have payed upwards of $1600 (not including down payment) for that piece of junk that me and my brother had to rebuild anyway because of how crappy it preformed. I've tried working with their leasing partner to try and get my money back and have found that they are unable and unwilling to work with you. I will be paying them off next month and will have payed a grand total of $2700 for a PC that was realistically work $600!!! PC Laptops and Progressive Leasing are price gougers and scams! Stay away from them! Learn to build your own PC, It will be much cheaper. PC laptops doesn't love you! They love your money!!! read more

I bought two high end laptop computers from PC laptops three years ago. Wife's computer gets a boot error. Salesmen for PC laptops tells her that her computer is done... Really? you sold it to us with a lifetime warranty.. Ends up selling her yet another computer for $2900!! I replaced the hard drive in her "done" computer for $99. Her "done" computer with the new hard drive is faster than new $2900 computer. I bought my son a low end PC Laptop desktop 4 years ago because I didn't want to have to fix it myself. This turned out to be a wise investment in my time because he decides to install everything under the sun on his system. 4 years later the system has had zero hardware issues. Sure I paid about $300-$400 more than a low end system at walmart but they have reloaded this machine for me 3 times in the last four years. That's 10 hours of tedious crap I don't have to deal with each time. Saturday his computer started having major issues, again due to him being irresponsible with his installations. It can typically take a few days for them to get to it and I was stressed as he starts school Wed. I took it in and talked to the manager Aaron and he took a quick look at it. Since I didn't need any data backed up he got to work on it quicker and had it back to me today. There was, as usual, no charge. I, as usual, saved a full day of tediousness by doing this and they expedited it some due to circumstances. I can't ask for anything more All of this and I don't even have their super uber $4k model. I just have a 4 year old entry level system. Sure they pitched me upgrades. And sure some of those upgrades are cheaper on Amazon. But if that part goes bad I don't want to have to try and RMA it myself through the Mfr. I would rather just let them do the hard work. If you don't know how to fix your own system or are like me and do but don't want to, they are so worth it!!!! read more

I walked in to this store thinking I had lost everything when my desktop stopped working, but David and his team were able to save many years worth of accumulated data and even put it all on a new pc that they helped me customize from scratch! David Taylor helped my fiancé and I find the perfect computer for our online gaming needs. We came back to upgrade our graphics card and they were very kind and helpful in the whole process of figuring out which one was the right one and installed it in a very timely manner . We sent some of our friends in and they got exceptional excellent service as well. I highly recommend coming to this store. The Tech was nice, but all they wanted was to try and sale me on a trade in. They had zero interest in fixing my computer. They offered a free diagnostic then offered me solutions of $149.00, $199.99 and $250.00 for repairs. I opted to take my laptop back and find a solution on Google, that solved my issues for free. read more

Total scam purchased a new top of the line laptop from Dan It worked great for about 45 days then a few keys fell off the keyboard so I took it in for repair They told me that keyboard was no longer available and it would just be better if I bought a new computer they would be willing to pay me $100 as a trade-in for the computer I just paid $3300 for just over a month before . wtf After some complaining they were able to find a used keyboard and repaired it after I got it back the battery would not hold a charge for more than 10 minutes so now I have a laptop that cannot be unplugged from the wall I took it back in and told them. Dan said that was a battery came with it He did not change it I told him it locks up just about every day after I've taken it in multiple times now computer still does not work!! Every time I take it in all they tell me is I should upgrade it to their new fantastic new model they be willing to give me $100 needless to say now it just sits on the floor and I went and bought a real computer from somebody else I will never go back or buy another computer from PC laptops they are one of the worst business I have ever done business with PC laptops does not love you they just love your money!!!!!!!! read more
