Generally speaking I am not sure where to start with my praises for this PC Laptop Murray location or my assigned Technical support representative Dakota "Kody" Ogden. As such, let me start with a review of past bad / good computer repair experiences encountered by me. To start, I am a "Desk Top" user one of the old dinosaurs that still roams the earth. Two years ago I experience another hard drive crash so I returned it to the place of purchase "Worst Buy" where I placed my confidence in their "Worst Squad" two weeks later I was informed "sorry for your luck" but nothing on your hard drive is recoverable. Seeking a second opinion and after searching with friends who might be out there that could help I found Software and More (now out of business) within 4 hours they had recovered all the docs from my hard drive but were unable to recovery my email PST records; hard pill to swallow but I had my docs and "Worst Buy" was never considered as a purchasing location again; this writers opinion. Fast forward to Tuesday 24 March 2015 my hard drive in a newer computer (two years old) HP Pavilion (8h1287c) crashes. I already know the company Software and More has dried up and blown to the wind so I shoot up flares to friends asking who might be able to help. PC Laptops was the answer from several friends so I called the Murray store to make first contact a most pleasant experience, leading me there the next morning with PC tower in hand. Still skeptical I arrived at the Murray store 25 March 2015 just after opening. Here is where a whole new computer experience happened for me. As I walked in the door everyone on duty turned and said "hello" in unison. I explained the computer issues I was experiencing with the front desk representative, who then explained what might be wrong (at this point I am still hoping it is something simple fixable with a Band-Aid - not to be). Before I left the store Assistant Manager Dakota "Kody" Ogden introduced himself to me and advised he would be in technical charge of my repair and would keep in touch with me as more was learned. I also retrieved and brought back to the store within the hour all the software I had previously installed on the computer. True to his word Kody called me that afternoon saying my hard drive had been recovered and transferred onto a new commercial grade hard drive and asked me to stop by to help expedite the transfer of my email "Outlook" details. That was done but because I save everything it delayed this computers pick-up completion until the next day. Kody called me again the next day (quite remarkable) to advise me all seemed ready for pick up. I noted a few downloads that had been made by me earlier that I had forgotten to mention earlier, and Kody said "no worries" and by the time I returned to the store 1430 hrs. 26 March 2015 all was right including complete recovery of my email Outlook files with all the emails therein contained. My experience with PC Laptops with Dakota "Kody" Ogden as the driving force has made me a believer in this company. The next time I am in the market for a new computer PC Laptops will be my company of choice for this purchase as they offer a lifetime guarantee. Why I did not find this technical gem called PC Laptops two years ago before my last HP desktop purchase remains a mystery but this mistake will not be repeated by me. BTW, the friendly atmosphere at the Murray store location (only one encountered by me) is contagious. Now when I enter the store I know to yell "hello everybody", and when leaving "Good-bye everybody" it is the way business should be conducted everywhere... Scott M read more

My wife and I purchased a custom built gaming/office desktop pc from the Murray, UT store in November 2024 and almost immediately had video issues and the computer shutting down at random times. Started working with the crew at the Murray store in trying to figure out what was going on with the pc. Every time we took our pc in the crew at PC Laptops just could not reproduce the issues we were running into. They replaced the power supply and other components, updated drivers and ran stress test after stress test but each time we got our pc back, the crashes started again. Fast forward a year and two months to Jan. 2026 and while working with Derrick (sp?) and Jason (sp?) on yet another return trip (7+ at this point) to try and resolve the issue with our pc, they were finally able to duplicate the issue. Out of the blue, they closed the door on the tower, and boom, the pc video went to black screen, fans on the video card ramped up and the pc said, "nope, I do not want to play nice." Both Derrick and Jason had an epiphany and said, "what if the video card is not seated properly and is touching the door on the tower when closed and causing a short?" They cleaned and checked the video card and reseated it and viola, problem solved. It has been a week now with no black screens, hiccups or frustrated owners. Gentlemen, you and the rest of the PC Laptops crew rock. We know you have been just as frustrated as we have been with the issues stated above and you persevered through thick and thin and much head scratching to finally come to an unexpected causation and resolution to a perplexing problem. My wife Helen and I cannot thank you enough for all the time and effort you have put into working with us and meeting your guarantee that we were, indeed, very satisfied, happy customers. This is the second pc we have purchased from you and we can say with all certainty that we will continue to be loyal customers of PC Laptops going forward. This was my second experience with the Murray, Utah PCLaptops, both experiences were the same, unsatisfactory bait and switch tactics. I took my computer into them when it would not load. The computer was placed on their front counter, my hard drive was removed by a young man who presented himself as "Manager-Senior IT specialist. He went to the back of the store with my hard drive after taking my name address and ID. He came back in 10 minutes and gave me a sales pitch for needing a solid-state hard drive because my, " hard drive (HP-14 months old) was "bad". He offered to give me $500 trade in on a new state of the art solid state including the hard drive, lifetime guaranteed computer. It would take $500 off the $3700.00 price.." I asked how much to fix mine? He continued, yours is just one of the dies after a year computers that costs more to fix than their are worth it would be $700 to fix your computer. I asked about the $799 computers they were advertising on the TV and Radio. His response, "We don't have anything like that." I asked him to put the hard drive back in my case and I would consider whether or not to buy new, or repair my $600 computer for $700. As I got into my truck to leave the store their radio ad offered free evaluations cleaning and anti viral scans, and $799 Lap Tops. I took it to an independant computer expert who took it to his shop and returned it to original working condition for $85.00. This was my second similar experience at this PC Laptops shop. I believe this is typical bait and switch operation but I was lied to and would not ever deal with this company again. Beware. read more

On January 30, 2014 my computer was hacked!! The Man called me saying he was from "Windows" and they were notified that a virus had been put on my computer. Well, I fell for it and In turn they had put the virus on my computer. I called PC Laptops in Murray and spoke with Drew Durham. He told me to bring my laptop in and they would do a full virus scan on it. Drew was so helpful and knowledgeable and put my mind at ease. The next day Drew called me and said he had done a full virus scan and cleaned all the viruses out. He also suggested that I add a AntiMalware Protection. Without a doubt I agreed and he added this amazing protection to my laptop.When I picked up laptop it was so clean it looked brand new! Not only did he clean the inside he also cleaned the outside, my keyboard and screen looked spit shined!! As he was explaining what work he had done I advised him about how slow my laptop is. He said he could fix that by adding more memory. On February 15, 2014, I brought my laptop back in and Drew doubled the memory. I can now say my laptop has never worked or looked better!! Today I called to ask a question and Kody Ogden answered the phone. Drew was not in so I asked Kody if he could help me with my question. He was so helpful and walked me through the process explaining ever step! PC Laptops has gone above and beyond my expectations!! They have my business for life and I recommend them to everyone I meet!! Excellent experience.... I was trying to put together a computer on my own, should be a law against that, and had an issue with it not showing anything on the screen. I called the store Thursday morning and he told me to bring it in and they would see if they can help figure it out. I was booked all day and told him if I couldn't get it working throughout the day I would come in. I was so frustrated by Thursday night I almost couldn't sleep waiting for them to open Friday morning. I was there at 9am and took the comp in, set it on the counter, my first comment was, wow I think did something to the case on the way, Dave was quick to point out that I had set it upside down on the counter. I said to him, so you see most of why I am here already. Any way Dave the tec took the comp right in, hooked it up and of course it came right on for him, like going to a Dr. nothing is wrong when you get there. He knew right off that I had the cpu fan plugged in to the wrong place on the mother board, he switched that and there it was. all good to go. He closed up the case and walked me out to the truck, I begged him to charge me for his time, he just said ..Have a great day. I felt guilty driving off. I hadn't even bought the comp from them, and he was more then willing to do that. I have been working with PC Laptops for over 8 years! The first computer I purchased from them 8 years ago has been passed onto my daughter.She uses it for all her school needs, and a little bit of gaming. If she ever gets a virus or has any issues, I can still take it in and they send me off, up an running in no time!. I purchased a second Laptop and I am loving it!! I am a gamer and I get to play any game I want on the highest graphic settings!!! The best thing about working with PC Laptops for the last 8 years is how fun it is every time I go into the store! They treat me like I have a brain! They explain everything to me, they are patient and we have a ton of fun! I have a tendency to do bad things to my computers. I bought a new Toshiba and it only lasted me 9 months, before I broke it. So I went back to PC Laptops and have never looked back!! Going on 2 years with my gaming machine and I can still play anything I want!! If you want to buy a computer from somewhere that makes you mail it in and be without it for up to 6 weeks (Toshiba), and then hassles you and says the issue isn't covered under warranty, Then PC Laptops isn't the place for you. If you want an awesome buying experience and a place to go where people know there stuff, and never keep your computer for more than a couple days when you break it! I bought a laptop a few years ago and was treated so well that I recently went back in to buy a desktop. I got helped by Andrew c. and dan fox. they were excellent and treated me very well. I bought a titan model and they helped me get it very loaded and for an excellent price when you consider that everything labor and parts are guaranteed for life. ive been back a couple of times in the two weeks since I bought it and Andrew c. has been my salesman and tech and has gone above and beyond in helping me and treating me right with some upgrades I have been doing to it to make it one of the fastest best machines around. im loving this computer and how kick butt it is and how any time I want to do something to it ill get a credit towards the new parts for my old parts. ive honestly rarely been treated as well as they have treated me at pc laptops as it seems they really care to make you happy. anybody ever asking me where i would go for pc's i would gladly send the way of pc laptops as i believe you definitely get what you pay for there and then some. if you are looking for a mean reliable computer where they stand behind everything on desktops and labor on laptops the only place you will find it is at pc laptops. thanks for everything dan fox and Andrew c. for making this a great experience and getting me a machine i will be happy with for years to come. read more

Our Tech guy recommended PC Laptops because he's retiring and won't be able to answer my questions and fix everything for me. He said their reputation among the people he deals with has been excellent over a period of many years. I was in need of a computer to replace an old one and John Prue helped us through the process. He answered our questions and made suggestions, always asking about our how we used our computer. He never seemed pushy or disappointed even when we made a choice not to include something, which I really appreciated. He was thorough and we never felt like just another sale. When we went to pick up the computer, John and David, the store mgr, spent several hours helping us understand how things worked and helping us move things around. We were really impressed by their knowledge, willingness, and friendliness. They stayed almost an hour after closing even though we told them we could do it a different day. The true test, however, comes after they have your $ and you're out the door. My husband had a question a couple of weeks later and they got right back to him and then we got a thank-you from them later. I would definitely recommend these guys. First things first, PC Laptops is a pricy company anyone who has bought one of there computer will you they do not come cheap, however this is a company that deals with only the top of the line parts any anyone that has bought pc parts or computers in general know you get what you pay for. However one day I needed to get a display port cable and i found out that no one in the Salt Lake City area sells these cables, after trying 6 other stores I remembered that selling top of the line computers at pc laptop, they also have top of the line monitors which use display port, so when I went into there store they were more than happy to help with this simple problem of mine, the employee went to the back and found exactly what I needed, when I asked how much (because I was more than happy to pay after searching half the day) he told me not to worry about it, the cable was an extra from another monitor they had. The only way he asked for me to say thanks is to write a review, so congratulations, I know it was a small deed but it was a big help for me to enjoy my new monitor so you more than earned your 5 star review, and my trust for any further help i may need in the future. read more

Built a Computer a few years ago to learn about the whole process, and it finally broke. I purchased a new Video Card and had issues getting the installation. I called and they were able to work on it, so I went right on over. I was immediately greeted by Kody Ogden, who helped me with my machine while there. The best bit? He took the time to listen to the steps that I had done. He repeated them and explained what he was doing different, effectively teaching me how to do it better. He found the problem, and had it all sorted out in no time. The BEST bit? There wasn't a single moment where I was treated like I was 'dumb' and everything was explained to me in a way that I understood it. When I left, not only did I have my machine back in order, but they treated it like it was one of their own, and treated me like I was an equal human being!!! They REALLY do love you. They'll help with any machine, even if they didn't build it for you. They'll lay out the options for down the road with NO high pressure sales. PC Laptops has a wonderful warranty that allows you to take in your computer yearly and have it checked out. I needed my virus protection updated and had some other things that I wanted addressed. There was a thorough diagnostics done on my computer and cleanup that needed to be done. When I got my computer home and reconnected everything it was so nice to have everything cleaned up and my computer actually was working faster. It has been very slow. The additional items that I had requested to be taken care of were also done. The staff at PC Laptops are so welcoming as you come into their establishment. MIchael at PC Laptops saved me a ton of money!!! On January 23, 2018 something was wrong with my sim card. I went to my carrier, Boost, and they said the sim card was not removable and that I had to get a new phone (I was not buying another phone from them). Went to Best Buy to get a new phone and they suggested I have PC Laptops look at the phone before I purchase a new one. I went to PC Laptops in Murray. The person who helped me, Michael, removed the sim card (imagine my surprise when he did that after what Boost said) and reinserted it. He checked a few things on the phone and said the sim card was fried. Michael explained that they didn't carry sim cards and I should be able to get a new one from my carrier. Michael was professional and very knowledgeable, which I greatly appreciate. I would have spent a ton of money on a new phone if it wasn't for him. I bought a desk top computer. Spenser was very helpful and everything went well. When I got the computer home, I found out they didn't put the right graphic card in that it needed to run the monitor at the highest resolution. I called the store. Gordon looked up my purchase and quickly noticed the problem. I brought the computer in and Ryan and Spencer resolved the issue quickly. I understand when you are buying a high-end computer for a specialized application that there may be some trial and error, but what is most important is the service you receive after that, and so far, PC laptops has shown me that they really stand behind their computers and provide the type of service they say they are committed to, and that is so important! I hope their commitment to great service continues because I have run into another snag or two. I've been a PC Laptops customer at least 12 years. They have been a godsend to me, my family and my business. They have built 3 desktops for me and 3 laptops as well. Their customer service over the years has been amazing. They have provided me with the best computers possible, customer service above and beyond and peace of mind knowing they are there. Couple days ago, Windows 10 self-installed on my computer and started error out. In a panic I called Brayden and explained my problem. UPDATE- the owner reached out to me and put me in contact with the lead tech-Alex. He was very polite and listened to me. He went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. The Sandy store was very knowledgeable and friendly. They helped me put my laptop back together and luckily my keyboard still worked. We also discussed the specs I'm looking for in my next laptop. Will def be purchasing from them in the near future! ------------------- Just called to ask for a rough estimate and he couldn't help me at all. Extremely disappointing. I don't want to bring my laptop (that's taken apart and in pieces) to the store and waste anyone's time if I won't be able to afford the service. I was very specific in what was broke- what laptop I had and what I need. He couldn't give me any information. I asked if there might be someone more knowledgeable I could speak with and he said no.
