Their follow through is poor. They are not competent on Mac (Apple) computers. Maybe they're proficient on Windows computers. However, they knew from the beginning that I use mac os. I believe they have only one poorly trained Apple tech and he avoids calling me because 3 days ago he said he would return after 20 minutes while he left me to update ZOOM on one computer. Came in with a computer with a computer that wasn't up on my displays. David help me diagnose the issue and isolate it to my GPU. He spent the time to not only show me possible new GPUs to replace my current one, he also taught me how to look for reliable benchmark ratings on GPUs in the future and he even cleaned out all my computer parts. I contacted David when my laptop was acting up. A relatively newer Lenovo- regular functions were super slow. I could barely keep 3 tabs open on a window or use Facebbok without waiting 10 to 20 seconds, for pages to load. Remotely, David was able to walk me through a few tasks, do a virus check , a hardware clean up and speed up my laptop by at least 200%. Wow!!! And yes, I did have a virus (even though I am super careful), and he removed it. I cant thank him enough!! I am so much more productive. Plus, he is super nice and friendly. Purchased a McAfee AV renewal and it would not activate so I called for support and was connected to PC Magic. They told me the issue was having two copies of McAfee running and other issues causing my computer to run slow and suggested a tuneup. I had been running McAfee AV for many years with no issues so did not understand why I was having problems this time but agreed to trial their "tuneup" for $120. They did improve the performance of the laptop and loaded the AV software but not sure it was worth $120. read more

I highly recommend PC Magic USA, and David - the technician and owner - who really knows his stuff. What he did for me is miraculous -- especially considering the common wisdom I receive constantly - to junk the old Sony Viao I have - and which is 11 years old - to buy a better computer. Many say Apple is the only way to go. Though my Vaio was still operational - it was on its last legs - or so I thought - and was ridiculously, maddeningly slow. Then weird stuff started happening - certain programs - such as Microsoft Word - ceased to work at all - and it crashed frequently. But I kept using it - as I am a professional writer and depend on a computer every day and night for work. Without one I am in trouble. That trouble happened when I spilled coffee onto the keyboard, which shorted it out. I figured that was the death of it. I brought it to David - who said he could replace the keyboard. But that if I wanted a quicker, less pricey option I could simply plug in an external keyboard. I had no idea that would work, but it did. And so for very little money I was up and running again. But since then the computer got sicker and acted worse. Constant problems occurred - so that I was spending time each day just struggling to get it to work. Most "experts" I spoke to suggested the only option was to essentially take it outside and shoot it, to end its misery. And then buy an Apple laptop for $1000 or more. David - remarkably - presented an alternate universe, which i was so happy to encounter. He said these old Sony Vaios were really well made - and that people were buying old ones and refurbishing them with new drives rather than buy something new. He said for under $300 he could remove the hard drive and put in a new one, which would solve its problems, improve the speed, and no longer crash. Seemed almost too good to be true. Yet he was right. He replaced the drive (gave me the old one for safe keeping) - cleaned up the fan - made other adjustments - and now it's back. And it is working better than ever. Like an operational laptop again! It is an absolute joy for me - it is so much faster - and it doesn't crash! And the price was very reasonable. I really had no idea this kind of repair solution was even possible. Also David - unlike other computer technicians - is patient enough to explain the problems, and different options, which I appreciated. And everything he told me was accurate. It works beautifully - the price was right - and he was a good, honest and easy guy with whom to work. He is on Laurel Canyon in Valley Village - ample free parking outside always - and if you call in advance he will let you know when best to come, as he is out on house-calls sometimes. So if you got computer problems yet - like me - assume that fixing them would be too expensive and so you have to deal with daily problems - this is the place to come. PC Magic is a SCAM I paid for a 2yr. warranty for $400 dollars. After a week they called and said that there server was having problems and that they would refund my money. I told them too put the refund on my credit card. They stated that they were not set up for that and I had to go on line and download a viewer team app. They took over my computer and instead of putting $400 dollars they put $8400 in my account. I told them to take the $8000 back they said that they can't do that and I was suppose to get gift cards in the tune of 2x $2000 or they would delete all the money in my account. Ok So, I decided to use this company which was suggested to me by Norton when I was dealing with scam issues in August 2019. First 2 times I used them they did a great job and I had no complaints. 3rd time I used them, I had an idiot technician lock me out of my computer by accident and I had to pay money to fix the screw up they did. Suffice to say I was P.Oed about it and asked that they give me a refund for the screw up that happened. I thought everything went good and it turned out the my partial refund never got registered in my old bank acct and they still stand by the fact that they gave me a refund. Long story short, This is some random company in India who claim they are attached to some well company as from what I witnessed in the yelp reviews and forget about getting a refund for when they mess up your computer. Not only did they fix my PC at a reasonable price, they also explained EXACTLY what was wrong, showed me the prices of the components and explained in laymens terms (which I needed!) what was wrong. But, moreover, they did some additional upgrades that made my computer easier to use and run more efficiently. A week after they did all this, I was doing a business transaction in which an IT guy had to remotely access my computer. Without telling him I had computer worked on recently, he said , "Wow, whoever upgraded your computer really knows their business!" Love you guys. He even had it plugged in and ready to go so I could try it out. I got a great deal! Only $100.00 for this lovely computor. It even came with a warranty and everthing! I was so anxious to go home and set it up. I figured it out, It was very simple. Man! does this thing fly!!!! LOL...... I even bought a new keyboard & mouse to go with it. I've come to this business several times in the past and they've always been pretty good. As of June 30 2015 I advise everyone to skip this place, there's a new "kid" in there with a very unprofessional attitude who charged me $49 for a virus removal that didn't do anything to solve the problem I had with my pc. His "diagnosis "was completely off and didn't even do what he said he was going to do so I had to go back the following day to have it corrected, on top of that he completely screwed up my monitor display after I specifically asked him to restore it as I had it before bringing the computer in, which he said he did but as soon as I got home I realized it was all screwed up. I had gone to them before and I had a great experience with both Chuckie and Christian....but never got around to writing anything ... my bad. But this time I really had to sing their praises. All you writers out there, imagine the horror of both your hard drive and your external drive getting fried with all your projects on there. Well, that's what I was facing. My computer crashed and it was a mess. Lost data on both internal and external hard drives or at least that's what it looked like. I really thought I was cooked ... no pun intended. I went back to PC Magic USA .. and Fred assisted me. He was truly thorough, considerate and very honest. First of all, he had managed to recover my data ... YES!! I found this place on yelp trying to find a place to put together my computer parts for me. He was about to close the shop closed but he stayed past closing time to ensure everything was in working order because I needed my rig that day. He checked the stability and provided additional parts that didn't even come with my motherboard including dielectric unions to ensure a long lasting rig at no additional cost. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in all aspects of the computer including helping me pick a power source because the one that I had brought into him did not work with my machine due to the power requirements.
