locally owned and operated, which is great. Always great to support the local small businesses. They also offered the most transparent pricing iver the phone and excellent service. I spilled coffee on my laptop keyboard two weeks ago. Within about five minutes I was getting an error message. I called around to different computer service centers the PC Service Center gave me the most affordable quote. $85 for a simple cleaning. If there were shorts and I needed new parts they would simply charge me for the parts above the $85. So the 85 was a simple flat rate for the labor on the entire job. nothing hidden. i knew upfront what all the charges would be. It turns out that my computer did not need new parts so all I paid was the $85 for the cleaning (thank you!!). This was far and away the best price. The next closest was drop zone (california location). They would've charged me $90 for a diagnostic. Then that $90 would've been put towards the repairs/cleaning; im pretty sure they would've charged me over 90 for the cleaning, tho. Everything else was much higher after that. I was getting quoted $150 and $200 from all the other PC repair places in Reno/sparks, and some of them were not very transparent or forthcoming about pricing over the phone. PC service center does have a lot of work, so you might have to wait a few days to a week simply because they work in order received. i highly recommend this business. No need to go anywhere else unless you want something overnighted. They also have laptops for sale if yours is busted. Prices look like they range from about $300 and higher. Their store is cool. Oh my gosh!!! We people here in Sparks are so LUCKY to have these people to help us. I allowed a severe security breach to happen...smack myself on the head. I thought I was so much better than this. (:-( I checked Yelp reviews and chose very well coming here. They have a reasonable rate, they offer rush service at a reasonable rate and they are all soooo helpful! And so very kind to me. I prefer text to phone and they made that happen for me. When I picked up my computer Jean even helped me change my computers password and fixed my login so it is exactly what I wanted. She even helped me download my most important program so I'm up and running when I get home. If I have any future problems THESE ARE MY PEOPLE! Jay checked me in...so great. Nat the owner helped over the phone. Thomas helped also. They are a great TEAM. I feel so safe dealing with a company who has been in business HERE for DECADES! They offer a reasonably priced protection that alerts them if I have a security problem. I think it sounds great after what I've just gone through. I'm in my 70's and I'm not totally computer illiterate...most of the time...but sooo much has changed in the decades since I started with DOS...(:-) I feel like from now on if I have an issue I can come here and pay their help rate and not have to fight with my computer ever again. For what turned out to be a minor issue (almost a non-issue, really), the guys here at PC Service Center sure were extremely helpful and understanding. Stopped by to diagnose a problem with my laptop, and I wound up departing with some ideas of what to look for, what would go into a potential fixes, and an idea of price point. I absolutely recommend this business. The Service Requested was to have an obscure tech device get a format and reload of its oem software. While that was unable to be accomplished due to the complexity of the device, I still feel this company excelled in providing high quality customer support. If I had to quantify a rating for 5 stars, here is my rationale 1st. Communication, the owner of the spent time corresponding through text messaging to drill down on the problem and come up with a viable solution 2nd. Professional, he knew what he was doing, and while the device could not be repaired, he provided options and alternatives to try to work to the desired outcome. 3rd. Courtesy, after explaining my situation and desire for the repair, the owner was nothing but courteous and respectful. Even going beyond to be helpful in a capacity to help me achieve my goal. 4th. Integrity. Called it like he saw it, didn't take money for something that may or may not have been completed. Was honest about his ability and what I could hope to achieve. 5th. Business storefront availability. Clean, easy to find, approachable and courteous staff. These are my reasons for awarding five stars even for not having completed a transaction. The first time I went here I had a broken computer that wasn't worth repairing. I purchased a refurbished laptop and was happy with the laptop, the people working there and the way they do business. Unfortunately the laptop hard drive crashed this week. I immediately called them and Thomas told me to bring it in. I did and he explained what happened and what needed to be done. As promised I got a call this afternoon saying that it's fixed. It's covered under their warranty and they honored it. Based on the business' reply here to me, a clear failure in customer service, I'm dropping my previous review from 3 stars aka OK to 2 stars Could've been better. Why? Because CONTRARY to what they replied to me here, they clearly DON'T "take it seriously" enough to 1) PREVIOUSLY publicly advertise here on Yelp that they have a Military / Veterans Discount, nice that they have added it since my first review, 2) publicly apologize here to me that I didn't receive it when I was in, or offer an apology like it must have been a new employee's fault, 3) publicly offer here to me for them to correct it with me, and 4) last but not least, in their response here, they couldn't even be "serious" enough about Veterans to thank me here for my USA military Service or welcome me home from my deployment. Then there's the boast to me here that one of the owners is a Veteran. Well, that begs the question: why aren't all of the owners here Veterans? George Washington, Commander-in-Chief during America's War for Independence and the USA's first President, wrote that everyone owes not only their money in defense of the USA but also their personal service. If it's worth it to you to live here in the USA, then it should be clearly equally worth it to you to have Served in the USA's Armed Forces. If it's worth it to you to live here in the USA enjoying the freedoms the Constitution guarantees, then it should be clearly equally worth it to you to have taken an oath to the Constitution which all of us who have Served in the USA's Armed Forces have done. But then just maybe those of you there who aren't Veterans are just not really "serious" about having to write that blank check to the USA for up to and including your life. But all that is just me cuz that's how I, a Veteran, define being "serious" about we Veterans. Anyway, I know I paid my price owed for Freedom and that I also paid the price for Freedom owed by those who haven't Served in the USA Armed Forces. I've come here twice for the same computer for the simplest of problems and each time has been a quick yet wonderful experience! The first time, my laptop screen was not turning on and I was panicking. I had gone somewhere else first and they quoted me over $300 to replace the entire screen. When I walked into PC Service Center, I explained my issue and funny enough, as soon as I handed it to the employee, he opened it and it was working (well that was random). I guess he just had the magic touch haha. We both got a good laugh about it and I was on my way. Most recently, my husband and I discovered that we were in need of some screws for the laptop and I told him we needed to come here since the staff were so friendly the last time. He said his experience was much the same (minus there being a non-existent problem). The staff member installed the screws quickly and sent us on our way! I definitely recommend PC Service Center for your computer servicing of any kind. I wanted to upgrade to Windows 11 and had a slow running laptop. I described what I wanted to Thomas and he prescribed the solution to the problem. I'm a Sr Citizen and both Thomas and Nat showed a great deal of patience with me. They don't rush their customers; they take the time to explain everything. They did all the work my laptop needed and they gave it a new "lease on life". I had the upgrade, a new hard drive, data transferred, programs re-installed and my laptop returned to me with everything the way that I wanted. These are the greatest techs in the area. If you have any problems - these are the guys that will resolve them. My wife had problems trying to sign into her computer. We took it to another computer tech shop close to where we lived. What a great mistake. They didn't know anything about how to correct the issue. Their only advice was to completely clean the hard drive and reload everything back at a price of over $400. I remembered going to PC Service with my new computer two years ago. They were fantastic then. We drove 30 miles out of our way to go back to PC Service. Best thing we did! Within an hour and a fee of $65 they fixed the problem. They went beyond that and gave us advise on issues that may come up, what happens when Microsoft 10 goes away, etc. just because they care about their customers. It's been 3 weeks since I was told my tablet repair would take 1-2 weeks and it hasn't been touched. Now I'm being told he doesn't even know if the part they received is a good one. Very, very frustrated with this place and will NEVER use them again. Poor customer service. I even checked a week ago and the possibility of a faulty part wasn't mentioned. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT! Update: Just received a call that the part is not the right one. So this place didnt even check to make sure they got the correct part when it came in!! Not sure if I believe them since they knew I was already unhappy with their service. On top of that, they can"t get the part supposedly. Now I have to make a trip to not only get my tablet but drive to the south end of town to get it repaired at a higher cost. 3 weeks and back to square one. Nat is horrible and a liar. read more

We had an in-home WIFI problem we could not self-repair, after two days of failed attempts. I went to the Yelp site and asked for help. These guys were great! They replied after hours when I thought I would need to contact the next day, we set up an appointment for a tech to come out. Well I am still very impressed with this company. I had to buy an external hard drive for my DVR recorder. I no longer use cable but an antenna the only thing missing is my ability to record. I bought the DVR from Amazon. After 3 frustrating hrs tring to get it to record I returned the DVR. I now had an expensive hard drive which I didn't need. My brand new computer with Windows 11 didn't want to work with a very old Microsoft Office program. They removed it, sold me the latest version and installed it for me. Everything was fine until I loaded PhotoShop, and the computer crashed and wouldn't even turn on! They removed Windows 11, installed Windows 10 and reloaded my new Microsoft Office program.
