I dropped off my fathers .22 rifle to be repaired on 04/16/22. Upon arrival CJ and what seemed like his mom were very friendly and welcoming. I asked for a receipt but he said his printer was "not working" that I would receive one with confirmation information via email for dropping off the rifle... never received one. I asked what the estimated repair time would be... he mentioned no more than a month... that he would call and update me on the status... a month when by... no updates... no calls... I than began to worry about the legitimacy of this business and now I am genuinely concerned I'll never see my fathers rifle again. I have called, emailed and visited the shop on many occasions with no response. I have filed a claim with the BBB against Worthy Armory.... I have called his property management company named Aszkenazy Development to inform them of the type of business he is operating... I have filed a report with the San Fernando Police Dept down the street... if I don't hear from Christopher Nicholas Lee ASAP I intend on hiring a private investigator to locate him and serve him to prosecute Worthy Armory to the fullest extent. Later I picked up Glock's OEM 15-round steel magazines, not realizing the steel magazine release doesn't play well with them. One of the OEM magazines got completely stuck in the mag well. I tried everything I could think of and still couldn't get it out. I contacted several local gunsmiths, but none could take care of it in a reasonable timeframe or seemed confident they could free the magazine without damaging the gun. An employee at a gun store I frequent recommended Greta's. I had never even heard of the place before. I called, and Dave told me to come in and they would take care of me. When I arrived I found a great store with an impressive inventory. Dave and Danny not only extracted the stuck magazine, they also swapped the steel magazine release back to the polymer one I brought with me. They refused any payment even though I was more than happy to pay. They did me a huge favor -- I have to qualify with this pistol in just a few days. I'm extremely grateful. I also discovered an excellent shop I didn't know existed. You've got a customer for life. Thanks again, Dave and Danny.

It is a breakdown in mandatory record‑keeping and transfer procedures, the very safeguards designed to prevent misidentification, theft, and unlawful possession. Confusing two serialized firearms of different calibers underscores a serious lapse in inventory control. Any FFL that mishandles serialized inventory in this way is demonstrating a dangerous disregard for regulatory obligations. I strongly advise others to consider the legal risks before doing business here.

TLDR: Stan (the owner) is an uneducated, hard-headed, lazy, paranoid old man. Take your business…read moreelsewhere if you value your time. First, there are his working hours. I've pulled up multiple times at 4:30PM, 30 minutes before closing DURING business days, and the store will already be closed up. No explanation, nothing. On TOP of already being open only 4 days per week, sometimes Stan will just take 2 more days off unannounced. You will just show up at his storefront only to be greeted with a sign that says, "taking Thurs and Fri off, see you next Tues." Also, I visited once to pick up ammunition and Stan is at the counter doing paperwork on his laptop and informs me I will have to wait for him to finish. I politely answered that's fine. Then proceeded to wait 20 minutes doing nothing before he "finishes" his paperwork and helps me. There was NO other person working at the store. Based on my experience, Stan clearly does not value your time, only his own. He may have lower fees but it is NOT worth your time. If you DO plan on visiting for God knows what reason, call ahead. But you're much better off taking your business elsewhere, plenty of good FFLs in the area (greta's, smokin b, etc) Third thing, Stan does NOT understand current California Gun Laws. His mentality is simply "My Shop, My Rules." You cannot reason with him, if you print out CA penal codes he will just throw it in the bin. He is not one of those pro 2A shops that wishes to empower his community. He is a paranoid conservative owner who only cares about himself. And if he THINKS you will harm him or his business in any way even if what you're doing is completely legal, he will just yell at you. He simply does not care. Despite holding an FFL07 license to manufacture, the owner panicked over a completely legal Glock upper assembly. It does not matter if its a gen 3 or gen 6, whether the slide or barrel is serialized or not, they are BOTH NOT FRAMES OR RECEIVERS in the eyes of the CA DOJ. I urge you Stan to read up on CA DOJ Penal Codes. He even went so far as to say this transfer will "put him in jail." Stan has no problem transfering a gen 3 upper. But if it is gen 6 upper, he will freak out saying that it must be DROS'd as a complete firearm, even though the gen 3 he transfered was NOT registered as a firearm. He seems to believe ANYTHING that is serialized is a receiver or frame which is very far from the truth. First off, a handgun part cannot EVER be classified as a receiver, that is reserved for LONG GUNS. Handgun parts can be classified as a frame. And secondly, a handgun upper assembly is NOT classified as a frame because it does not house a trigger mechanism or sear. LOOK IT UP in CFR handbook. He is just a paranoid old man who only cares about himself. And he will accuse you of trying to ruin his shop based on nothing but his own paranoia. Mind you these experiences all took place within about a month. It doesn't take long for Stan to show his true colors. This is my final warning, stay away from this shop. I don't know what it was like before but I can tell you what it is like right now, and it is not a friendly 2A shop. The owner is a lazy and selfish paranoid old man, who you do NOT want to deal with.

Make sure you go over the driving directions when you leave, as we had no mobile phone service once we got deep onto the dirt road. Follow the signs and you'll get there eventually. I wouldn't drive there with a lowered vehicle or fancy sports car as there is about 1.5 miles of dirt road you have to drive on that's a bit bumpy. Just drive slowly. I didn't check the selection of rentals they had on offer as I have my own toys, but I have heard it is better than most. We got a private range on a Wednesday and it was incredibly cheap ($100 for 2 people all day, $40 each additional person). They bring out steel targets for you to use and then leave you alone to have fun. You can draw from holsters, rapid fire, do drills, etc. No 1-shot per second nonsense, Their public rifle range has steel targets out to 1000 yards so you can see how good your skills really are. Lots of fun steel targets to shoot. You can finally stretch out your rifle and those high dollar optics. For the first time I wished my 6-24x scope had more magnification. I wish this range were closer but it was only about 1 hour from the Pasadena area which isn't too bad at all for 1000 yard steel. I believe it may be the only range in the los Angeles area that has steel out to 1000, as Angeles Shooting Range is maximum 600. I am definitely going to return to this place again soon!
