In fact, when my neighbor saw it (he's not in the auto-repair industry, but is in the auto industry), he was completely convinced that I would have to get that panel replaced. And I have no doubt that if I had taken my truck to an auto-body shop or tried to go through my insurance, that's precisely what they would have told me too. Wanting to avoid that, I contacted John at Auto Dent Medic on a Sunday evening. We exchanged texts that evening and he agreed to meet me the very next day. We met at a location that was mostly convenient for me, because it was on my lunch break. And he was able to perform the fix right there in the parking lot. He's very fast and efficient. In all it took about an hour and a half. And it would have been faster, but it happened to pour down rain right in the middle of when he was working on it. Related to that, he waited out the major downpour, but once it slowed to steady rainfall, he got right back to work.. didn't miss a step and worked in the rain. He's very thorough and attentive to detail. Not only does he take care to fix your dent issue, he also does it in a way that's not intrusive to your vehicle (eg he'll use existing ways to access inner walls rather than drilling new holes if he can avoid it, even if it creates more work for him; if he does need to drill a hole, he's meticulous about sealing and covering it afterward). And as far as his work goes... I can honestly say that I can't even tell there was ever a dent. The panel looks like new. And he also buffed out the scratches that accompanied the dent. My truck has been on more than a few back roads, so there's surface scratches throughout. So when he buffed out the area where the dent was, I told him that's probably the best looking, smoothest part of the truck now... and I was serious. Look - if you have any dent issues, do yourself a favor and contact John before you make the commitment to going through your insurance. His prices are more than reasonable (less than what my deductible would have been), his work is great, he's hardworking, and he's a great guy to do business with. And bonus - you can avoid having your insurance rates potentially go up and also avoid having the fender bender going on the vehicle's Carfax (for obvious reasons). Highest recommendation I can give!!
