I have been trying to find someone who could provide a REAL deep tissue massage. I've had too many massages where they advertise deep tissue massage only to receive a meek back polish. Finally, there is someone in Uptown who DOES deep tissue massage! A friend recommended to see Vedran at Peace is at Hand. I had some shoulder issues needing fixing after lifting weights. Vedran took time to understand my problem (intake took 25 minutes) and explained the plan of action. He also took time to educate me about my problem. His style of massage is focused, and with intent. Pressure tailored to my needs (Did I say I love a lot of pressure? :)) he also took time to show me some stretches to do at home. After only two sessions my shoulder felt almost 100% better! I also like that he always includes aromatherapy free of charge and that sessions are longer. Vedran's office provides for wonderful serene environment and has a zen vibe. Oh, and prices are awesome! Very deep discounts when buying packages. I've already stacked up on package of six massages. If you are looking for a glorified back polish with extra frills (to which you'll be charged an arm and a leg) then you are better off going to some expensive spa. Vedran's Peace is at Hand is the premiere place for deep tissue massage therapy, and a verity of other services to heal and rejuvenate your body. He is very professional and experienced, and takes time to listen and understand your particular situation; not to mention best prices! I love the on-line scheduling option; you can book it with a smartphone or just call to make an appointment. I have used the 100 minute option for overall body rejuvenation from martial arts training and running, and the 30 minute option to work on specific problem areas. The prices are really the best I have seen in Uptown and you get more time, i.e. 100 min not just 90 as others offer, or 70 instead of 60 minutes. I went to Peace Is At Hand because I hurt myself one day from falling during shoveling snow during winter. I could barely move my body, turn my neck, and my back was so sore, not a good feeling. So, after my session with Vedran the massage therapist, I felt like I was on cloud nine. It was the most soothing, relaxing, helpful, and relief that I have never felt anywhere else. He listened to my concerns and made his plan to help accomplish that goal for me. I was in awe of his variety skillful techniques, professional attitude, and knowledgeable. I had a massage with Vedran 2 days ago. I went in with a specific point of tension in my upper back, kind of beneath the shoulder blade, probably due to my days in a prone position at my desk job and posture when I knit. His approach really worked for me. After pin-pointing the location of the tension he alternated deep, slow and persistent pressure in and around the area and from different angles with strong strokes to the entirety of my back. I feel like this repetition gave the whole area a chance to loosen up and let go incrementally. What's really great is that the pain, which before my massage no amount or direction of stretching could give any relief from, is gone. Best massage therapist ever! I've had massages over the years at various places but after seeing Vedran, I can't imagine going anywhere else. I initially went to Peace is at Hand to ease sore muscles, for stress relief, and relaxation. Then I acquired a low back injury... Vedran, along with my chiropractor, have since then performed miracles. I'm back to practicing yoga and running but still can't live without my massages. Prices are amazingly reasonable and with the very personalized massages, I can't imagine anyone leaving a session not feeling pain-free and floating in the clouds. Ved is great. He is extremely knowledgable and that shows. He spends time talking to you and trying to get to the root of the problem.
