On multiple occasions when around other parents of children they are always impressed how ahead CCS kids are. The school has a preschool and makes the transition to Kindergarten SO much easier which helps children start learning sooner since they don't have as long to get over being in a new environment. Since before school and after school care is onsite it makes it much more comfortable to kids to stay after school if parents need the extra care. During COVID this school was one of the very few that kept kids engaged and didn't let them fall behind. I saw so many other schools have kids that are a year or two back because of COVID, but CCS did an amazing job to continue education and keep things as normal as possible. The principal has introduced so many sports and clubs with the help of staff. The community of parents and teachers has been what I had always hoped to have. I HIGHLY recommend this school.

Our oldest was in Mrs. Olga Nguyen's class instead of attending TK, and she was more than well prepared for kindergarten. She has such a calm, kind, and respectful way of speaking to the children--it's clear she truly understands and values them as individuals. The kids respond so well to her; they listen and engage because she speaks to them in a way that makes them feel seen and heard. She meets them at their level, both emotionally and academically. Special thanks to Ms. Maria, Ms. Sara who have also been shining stars of our experience. All of the teachers we have had for both of our kids have helped to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

I started her when she turned 2 and have been so impressed with this caring, nurturing, learning center for children. What I love about the CDC: - There is an incredible student to teacher ratio, so that my child gets special attention (and every child gets special attention). - The CDC teachers are - across the board - incredible with kids. They have endless activities that reinforce early learning but most of all, they are calming and have given me a guide for how to talk to a toddler when I'm frustrated! - The classroom teaching assistants are current students of child development, who are energetic and constantly thinking about the philosophy behind their teaching. The curriculum is sweet and strong. My daughter learned to ride a tricycle beyond her 2 years during outside play, in their fun play yard. She learned to identify and write letters early, with teachers getting her excited about reading. She became a "farmer" for a semester, when they planted strawberries and each classroom focused on the environment and seasons. I can't say enough how much I love the CDC and their child-centered preschool! I should say that it is incredibly affordable - costing half of what similar quality preschools cost. Students and community members who qualify for childcare stipends can use them there. This early Child Development Center and preschool is the best kept secret in Oxnard!
