To put it mildly, I have had some less than great experiences at the vet in my life. Every time I go to the vet, it causes me a lot of anxiety and stress because of my past experience. There's nothing as nerve-racking as second-guessing yourself on whether you need to go to a vet or you can take care of something on your own. My dog had a boo-boo, and I wasn't sure if what I did was enough or if he needed a vet appointment. He needed a vet appointment. Dr. Neimann was fabulous. She has great bedside manner, explained to me what she was seeing and thinking, and why she recommended the things that she did. They give you options of things to consider for care options, and then give you pricing before they do anything. I think the single biggest thing that stood out is that the antibiotic that he needed is really expensive if you buy it through the vet, however, it's available generically at most pharmacies. She thought about this in advance and made sure that the medication that I needed was something that I could get at a reasonable price. Her forethought to look at this before prescribing the dosage saved me something like $180. So not only did she do a great job taking care of my dog, but she gave me a lot of confidence in her abilities to take care of my pocketbook as well. Highly recommend her.

When the assistant replied, she used my cat's correct name once, then referred to him as "Mama" for the rest of the email. This seems like an obvious template error that should have been caught, especially for something this sensitive. During the appointment, Dr. Melissa Vollaire seemed disorganized, and her assistant stepped out to take a phone call, never to be seen again. Then there was the euthanasia process itself. It took three needles and two shaved legs to find a vein on my sedated cat. On the second attempt, he pulled his paw away in pain, meaning his last few minutes of life were spent feeling someone dig around his arm. A month earlier, his regular vet had placed an IV with no shaving or struggle, so this was an extra layer on an already heartbreaking experience. Finally, I was told that A Paws In Time (the cremation service) would contact me within a couple of days when his paw prints were ready. After a week of silence, I reached out myself and learned that the vet had never informed them of that responsibility, delaying everything by another TWO WEEKS. Thankfully, A Paws In Time was wonderful, emailing me copies within minutes and they even personally delivered the originals to my home the same day they received them. Meanwhile, Transitions only reached out once to say the prints would be ready "next week," promised to follow up, and then never did...even when they failed to include them in the next pickup. They may be the cheapest option in the area, but I strongly recommend paying the extra $50 for a service that offers the professionalism and compassion your pet deserves in their final moments.

Honestly I'm really disappointed in my recent visit here. I came here twice in the last two years…read morewith my cats and was always given okay service. One visit for my cat was because she was constipated, and instead of just giving her meds for that they highly recommended X-rays to rule out anything else, and it ended up still just being her constipated. (Cost around $300 for that.) They also never checked their temperatures, didn't do a full look over, and I just felt like they didn't truly take the time to do a comprehensive exam. After that I started taking my cats elsewhere where I felt like they received a more thorough exam that didn't leave me out hundreds of dollars for nothing. This last week I adopted a dog from the humane society and after a few days of her being home she started experiencing signs of kennel cough so I decided to bring her into the vet. The one I wanted to take her to couldn't get her in as quickly as they could so I decided to take my chances and give them another shot. I really wish I didn't. They told me to go to the back door when I got there and call them to let me in. I waited over 10 minutes outside in the wind to finally get brought in. The whole visit itself lasted maybe 10 minutes and they barely did a thing to check her out. They didn't get her temp, didn't look in her mouth, ears, or any of that. I had to ask for them to check her hips and other things and I ended up spending $72 for them to barely look at her. You would think for how much that visit costs that you would get a full exam, but apparently that shouldn't be expected. I will not be coming back and i honestly think I should be reimbursed for the money considering they barely looked at the dog. I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone. ***UPDATE: went to a different vet, and they found not only and ear infection but a bladder infection that this vet didn't even bother to check for after voicing concerns! I called the office and talked to their new manager, said the vet left notes in my chart and because of that they can't refund me?? The notes were things I stated to them. This vet is a joke. If you want to be ignored, treated like crap, and to get no answers then this is the place.***

I am here to express my unending gratitude for every single employee at the centennial location as well as the Henderson location(where her body was originally transported) for making the worst moment of my life a bit more bearable. From the employees I spoke with that suggested the viewing service while I was hysterically trying to secure peace of mind to Louis who took care of and prepared my baby girl for her final walk home, the compassion shown was nothing short of incredible. With her passing being during the holiday season(12/23) I was not able to have the service until 1/6, exactly 2 weeks after her passing and I was very nervous about how she would look, feel and overall be presented to me. As soon as they opened the door to the bereavement room that was prepared for us an instant cry of relief, she looked just as she did while she was sleeping, so peaceful. I've seen a lot of reviews commenting negatively on prices for this service(and pricing in general) so it's important to me to share just how incredible lasting paws staff made the worst moment of my life. Honestly the cost was such a small price to pay for the experience of being able to touch, kiss, hug my baby girl one last time. So while some may think this is a "money grab on grieving pet parents" I could see(and feel) just how much love and care went into her viewing service by the staff. They bathed her, brushed her and had her prepared on a table with soft blankets and a pillow for her head. Louis did a very thorough job of explaining everything about the cremation process and communicated with me through every step. I brought supplies to make more nose/paw prints but forgot scissors so that I could clip more of her fur, without question the sweet front desk staff provided a pair of scissors and a small plastic bag to keep the clippings in. I had used a euthabag(instead of standard issued plastic bags) that I had sent to all of her loved ones to write sweet final goodbye messages. One of the many reasons I did this was so that whoever was handling her could tell how loved and special she was...Louis made a point to comment on this stating that him and the staff really enjoyed reading the messages on her bag and could feel how loved and special she was. That small seemingly insignificant exchange truly helped my grieving heart so much, just to know she was seen in death the same way as when she was here, so very loved. I had 30 mins with her but of course was offered more time if I felt as though I need it, in fact when Louis came back in to check on us and I had said I was ready, after explaining everything he even confirmed again that I did not need more time. I was given the option to leave and come back when everything was done OR stay in the room dedicated for us while she was being cremated. I opted to stay with her throughout the entire process because I promised her I would be with her until the very end. Once Louis took her to the back I was still able to watch via a tv with a live feed in the bereavement room and Louis even came back in the room to let me know when it was finished and he was going to be opening the door to begin brushing her ashes out so that I may look away if I needed to. I was there from 9am-2:30pm and was able to go home with her and all of her prints and clay paws. I guess I'm leaving this review to sing the highest of praises for lasting paws employees and their viewing service option but also to let any grieving pet parents know: if you're on the fence on whether or not the viewing services is "worth the money" ....it 100% is-being able to kiss her sweet nose one last time was priceless and truly has helped so much with my grieving process. Also I hope Louis sees this and knows how much of a positive impact he made during the worst time of my life and how grateful I am for the care he showed my girl after her passing-He made this whole experience a bit more bearable and really honored my girl.

PCS partners with caring pathways to provide ashes (if you want them), and a complimentary paw print. I went to go pick up my paw print today, and it was probably the most loving space I've walked into. It gave me some peace to know my boy was treated with love all the way through.
