Blue Dogwood Public Market is more of a food hall and collaborative space with multiple vendors and an event space for cooking-related classes. It's so heartwarming to see ALL LOCAL vendors at this location considering the development going on in and around Franklin St with multiple chain restaurants and stores coming up every other week. I was there on the opening weekend so this place wasn't completely functional yet. But I still had a chance to look around and taste some food too. I had a gluten-free cannoli from pizzelle bakery (everything here is GF) and it was awesome! The other vendors include: *Soul Cocina *Vegan Flava Cafe *Common Bar Area * Pizzelle Bakery * Rumi Persian Cafe * Left Bank Butchery * Chocolatey Confections There's a great outdoor seating area too. Can't wait to check this place out when it's fully operational.

Quintessential Saturday morning activity for Durham folks! Big Durham Farmers' Market fan; love to…read moregrab coffee & a pastry and just stroll around, looking at the art, smelling candles, trying on handmade jewelry. My favorite stall to grab a pastry at is definitely Loaf Bakery. Service is always so nice; the Central Park ambiance (usually with live music) is perfect. Parking available in the lot on Morris St. 10/10 would recommend!

Cute Farmers' Market, right in Downtown Durham! There are several different vendors, selling…read moreeverything from cheese, to vegetables and fruits, to meats, to flowers, to bread!!! They also sell wine, baked goods, pastas, honey, salsas and guacamole, chocolate, kombucha, eggs and dairy, kimchi, and jams. The main market is open from 8-12 pm on Saturdays (and seasonally on Wednesdays), go early to avoid some of the lines! The 2 bread stalls will ALWAYS have a long line (go to their store fronts to avoid the lines). There are some small material items you can buy as well (cups, clothes, jewelry, art, soap, baskets), but the majority of this market is food. My favorite stops to make would be Celebrity Dairy for their goat cheese spreads (AMAZING on crackers, get the "Party Mix"!!!!!), and Melina's ravioli (delicious homemade ravioli and pasta sauces). Note #1: Separate parking lot for customers! (Market is ON the Foster Street, which will be closed during the market.) Note #2: NO DOGS allowed!!! TIP: BRING A BAG!!!! NO bags with any purchases, so bring your own!! (Or buy one there.)

Tomato SZN in full effect! There's never a bad time for a stroll through the Triad Farmers Market,…read morebut the heat of summer is going to treat you to a bevy of vegetables like you would not believe. You'll find the freshest picked everything, from cucumbers to tomatoes and all points between. The market is fully covered, providing some much needed shade, and there are some permanent vendors that have an indoor facility such as an ice cream parlor, candy and fudge, general store, etc. There are full bathroom facilities on site, and even a restaurant called the Moose Cafe at the back which served southern favorites. Of course, what is offered depends on the season. You'll find a bounty of selections starting in late spring, through the summer, and into the fall. In the winter, produce starts to become more sparse, but there is no shortage of places to buy your Christmas tree if you celebrate with one of those. Best advice is to bring cash, but many vendors can take a card these days. You may get charged a little extra for using plastic in some spots though, and to help with these folks margins, cash is preferable.
