Pizza anyone? Coming into Brenz for the first time to try out their pizzas and had no idea there were so many options. Place is clean with an open window and a bit of seating, but not enough. I noticed a lot of people picking up their pizzas to go and this might be why. Service was great. We were given a few options to try. We went for the chicken wings, a large 16" cheese pizza, a 14" half spicy Hawaiian and ATM (all the meats), a small Greek salad and the Cinnazos for dessert. We had plenty to sample. The pizzas were delicious and I would definitely come back to try different options. The wings, the Greek salad and the cinnazos were okay but nothing to rave about. I would say I am not a fan of how they cut their pizza in squares but that's a preference choice and it doesn't affect the yummy taste. This is still a great option for pizza. read more

I found this pizza spot through a Yelp search. I became excited to try this place out after looking over the menu. I was intrigued by the Spinach Artichoke pizza. So, I talked a friend into joining me in a visit this place. Kai was very friendly when answering my questions about menu options. She has a great personality and is knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Caesar salad and the Spinach Artichoke pizza. Both items were flavorful and full of ingredients. The location offers some seating options for customers who wish to eat on-site. Whew Chile! I was in town for business and decided to check this place out. I was skeptical going in, but I should know to trust the reviews of my fellow Yelpers. I ordered the rustic pizza and side Caesar salad. Everything. Was. On. Point! The salad has bacon in it (an issue for some but not I) and the cheese and baby croutons with the dressing were delicious. The pizza was fantastic, with the various root veggies, sauce, and sausage. Am 8 inch was enough for me, and I was full afterwards. The inside is like a typical pizza place with bar stools and regular seating. The only times I have ordered from Brenz were on nights when they have a special deal with our apartment complex for half off which happened around once or twice a year and we definitely took advantage of it! It is a bit pricey without the deal, so i usually dont order it. But on deal nights my roommates and I would order personal pizzas and wings for ourselves to last us the whole week haha. They can get pretty busy during those nights but we just order online and then go pick it up ourselves. There's usually still a bit of a wait when we get there but not awful. The wings here are HUGE and I get the hot honey sauce every time. My spice tolerance is pretty low but the sauce is not very spicy so they are perfect for me! I think I've tried every one of their award winning pizzas (and they have a lot which is impressive in itself!) but my personal favorite is still the heritage honey (i really love honey lol)! read more

This pizza was so good. I had never heard of Brenz but I have now! Tried the artichoke and spinach pie and it was delicious. Full of flavors and plenty of topping. I love fresh ingredients on my pizza and a toasty crust. Also tried the Caesar salad which was tasty. This place has so many interesting combinations of pizza. I will definitely be back soon. Really phenomenal pizza. This place has some pretty thick slices, but I wouldn't say that they are doughy at all. Despite the width, they are easy to bite through and don't leave you feeling like it was all bread. The toppings and sauce were both really well done and something that I really enjoyed were the sweet accents to the pizza. Both slices that I ordered weren't too salty, and the onions and honey drizzle worked really well to create a well rounded pizza. Also when I went, there was only one lady working, but despite being by herself, she was able to handle our order as well as all other orders well. Highly suggest you check this place out. read more

I came here because I received a coupon for a free pizza and I wanted to see what this place is all about! I ordered a classic pizza without any expectations, and I was impressed. I thought the pizza was great, but what really stood out to me was the crust. The crust was so fluffy and better than the crust of any other pizza I have had in this area. On top of pizza, they also sell subs, wraps, and wings. I think it's located in a convenient location right off 54 surrounded by other restaurants and shops. The only downside is that I feel like this place is a bit overpriced especially for a small pizza that will likely only feed 2 people. Although the pizza is great, it is difficult to justify buying pizza from them when I know other restaurants sell similar quality pizza for a better price. Overall, I think this is a great pizza place with a lot of menu variety located in a very convenient location. After multiple visits, Brenz Pizza Co. of Chapel Hill has become a reliable go-to pizza spot for my wife and me. We were a little skeptical at first since we got a 25-percent-off mailer for this restaurant, but the pizza turned out to be really good. My wife's senior resident told her that this was his and his wife's favorite neighborhood pizza place. After our first experience, we could see why. At the time of writing this review, there are four Brenz locations: this one in Chapel Hill, another in Durham, Columbus (OH), and Knoxville (TN). The Durham location is the original and actually goes by a different name: Enzo's Pizza, established in 2008. This location in Chapel Hill opened in 2015. You can find Brenz Chapel Hill in the East 54 mixed-use development, just east of UNC's campus. The restaurant is hidden from street view, but you can't miss it when you pull in. Parking is plentiful. However, during peak times, you might not easily get a spot right in front of the restaurant. Several of the spots are reserved for certain businesses, so be sure to pay attention to the markings. During my first visit on a Friday night, business was good. This is a small restaurant. There's not a whole lot of seating, inside or out. I guesstimate the dining room can accommodate maybe 20-30 customers comfortably while the outside has a single partially-covered table underneath the storefront's small awning. I ordered online through Brenz's website at https://brenzpizzaco.com/chapel-hill-nc. I was given an estimated wait time of 25 minutes and it was about right. When I ordered, the menu featured about two dozen different kinds of pizza, priced anywhere from approximately $7-23 each. Pizza sizes included personal (smallest), 12-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch (largest). They had seasonal pizzas and you could also build your own pizza. Other offerings included sub sandwiches and wraps (about $6-7 each), salads ($3-25), wings ($5-22), breadsticks ($3-8), cookies ($1.59 each), and even pizza kits ($11-12) and cookie dough (6 for $6), so you could make and bake your own pizza and cookies at home. I ordered us one Brenz White and one Loaded Pepperoni, both in 14-inch size. The website gave me the option to get the pizzas pie-cut or square-cut, which I thought was interesting. It also gave me several customization options as far as toppings went -- more toppings, less toppings, add/remove different toppings; I could also split a pie and do half one style and the other half a different style, if I wanted. Aside from the cut options, it wasn't anything too out of the ordinary. I did appreciate the flexibility and the website was easy and straightforward to use. I thought about adding extra pepperoni and cheese to the Loaded Pepperoni. There was about a $2 additional charge for each of those. In addition, the website had the option to split payments between two cards. The pizzas rang up to $17.99 each and I added tip. The pizzas were made to order, hot, fresh, and delicious. They smelled so good when I picked them up, on the car ride home, and when I brought them inside. I like the "Made in Chapel Hill" branding on the boxes which gives the business that local feel. The pizzas had circular liners underneath which not only helped to soak up grease, but also protected the boxes from getting cut. While the pizzas were precut, I did have to use a butter knife to cut the Loaded Pepperoni slices more cleanly because there was so much cheese (a good problem to have). The pizza crusts were nice and crispy, bubbly, and appetizingly chewy. Really satisfying. The cheeses were delectable. I'm a fan of white pizzas and thought Brenz's version was a good one. Well balanced and nicely flavored. As for the Loaded Pepperoni, it was fantastic. If you like classic pepperoni pizza, I don't think you'll be disappointed with Brenz's Loaded Pepperoni. They use small, curved slices of pepperoni. The pepperoni was very savory and tasty. My mouth waters just thinking about it. Service was great. This place operated like a well-oiled machine. Another night, on the way home from work, my wife picked up a Classic ($22.99). It came with house red sauce, Brenz's "special cheese blend," family-recipe sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, sweet onions, and green bell peppers. All in all, a very tasty take on the supreme. There were copious amounts of each topping. This pizza was a little greasy/oily, but that's also what made it good. Again, the pepperoni was extra savory and tasty, as was the sausage; it was just full of flavor. We mixed it up and got the Classic square-cut, which comes in smaller pieces. In addition to Brenz being a convenient option for us to carry out, my wife's workplace likes to order Brenz Pizza too. It's an easy choice for groups. TL;DR - Brenz Pizza Co. in Chapel Hill is really good. I recommend their Loaded Pepperoni and Classic pizzas. If you like white pizza, the Brenz White is worth ordering too. I was visiting the RTP area on business and decided to stay in Chapel Hill because I never stay in that area when in town. I was super hungry, but I typically eat a salad from somewhere for dinner when on business trips, but there were no such places near the hotel that I could walk to, so I saw that this restaurant was within walking distance and thought "treat yourself, get some pizza", so that's exactly what I did. I ordered the Rustic pizza with a salad and returned to the hotel to eat. Let me tell you something, the pizza was way better than I expected. I thought it was going to be mediocre because when I walked in the restaurant and saw college-aged kids working behind the counter. I know I shouldn't judge before I try, but, I've been around a while and am going off previous experiences. The ambiance of the place was typical for a pizza joint, no complaints. But! The service wasn't stellar. The girl working the register taking orders was kind of rude. If her attitude wasn't so blah I would have given this place 4.5 stars. Loaded pepperonies yeah right... the pizza was topped with those snack size pepperoni that shrivel & dry-up when cooked. They're already cooked and ready to eat. If they insist on cheating the public out of 'Real Pepperonies then place the snack size pepperoni under the cheese. The orginal ethnicity and culture of food is long gone. Americans have ruined the authentic taste, favor, spices and texture of food a long time ago. The last order I placed was in 2023 and it was a bad experience. They were feeling the sting of post pandemic staffing and I'm sympathetic to a point. If I had any inkling or warning that it could take 90 minutes or longer for two personal pizzas and wings, I would've saved my money. The 3 stars is based on frequent ordering from 2017-2019. I never liked the default cut of the pizza because you'd end up with middle pieces no one wants. I had suggested offering a traditional cut and they did it! Cool! The wings were baked which is how I make them at home and while the sauce wasn't special, it was tasty enough and I enjoyed them just fine. However, they changed their app and apparently the recipes because when I did get my pizza and wings 90 minutes later, neither tasted the same. I'd rate this place a 3.5 stars, but since half stars are not an option they deserve the boost up rather than down.
