Hard to beat Peaceful Side, as Townsend does not offer many options for excellent food and service. Kid and pet friendly with ample outdoor seating and a kids play area. Plenty of food choices including very tasty entrees such as their Hearth Salmon Bowl, Blackened Steak Filet Bites, and Herb Roasted Chicken. Shareables like chicken wings, and an enormous pretzel with beer cheese are perfect if not starving and wanting to pair with one of their own craft beers. On our most recent visit, one of three in 3 days since we love this place so much, we had our only less than ideal experience as the wait for our pizzas were almost an hour, and both the pepperoni, and all-meat pizza were charred beyond acceptable. The fig and pear pizza we usually enjoy did not live up to its usual standards either, as it seemed smaller and the crust was just not the same texture. In their defense, Peaceful Side was packed and as busy as I've ever seen it, so it won't affect us from returning. Still our #1 choice in Townsend and worth the visit. read more

Definitely a must visit when you were in Townsend! Made quite a few stops here during our trip and each time it got better and better. The staff is beyond friendly and knowledgeable about the beer. Certain days of the week you can get tacos and other food from the food truck. The food from the brewery however is also outstanding! Great place for dogs and families because the outside area has a huge playground and lots of tables that have shade to sit and enjoy the view and Company. So this is in Townsend and will definitely be back on the next trip! Sidenote, it is one of the only places open on Monday and quite busy if you're looking to have food. Plenty of parking and you can park in the field on the side. There is also bike parking in case you take your bike since it is located next to the biking and walking path. I enjoyed a beautiful Sunday afternoon here recently after a hike with my daughter and her friend. We'd already eaten somewhere else but wanted to check this place out, as I'd heard lots of good reviews from friends. Fun environment! Lots of games & activities outside. We used to love eating here but the last couple visits our pizzas have been undercooked, even after we asked for it to be cooked "well done" because of it being undercooked prior visits. We couldn't even pick a slice up it was so limp and everything fell off. When we mentioned it to the counter they simply said "oh, sorry." This will be a short review because with an amazing outdoor garden seating area other than the 15 feet it took from the door to the counter to order I never even looked inside or around the building. We ordered sandwiches for lunch and they were fantastic. The bread was amazing. With self serve fountain drinks and seat yourself this is a fantastic lunch stop if you are in the area. Pizza's did look good but we didn't want to wait that long but I would like to return and try them again. We only dealt with the cashier when placing the order and she was friendly so can't really speak too much about the service. Looking forward to returning though! read more

This place was a homerun. Food was great. Beer was great. Space was great and the service was great too. If you have young kids there is space for them To play outside, if you don't there is a nice bar with friendly attentive bartenders inside. The beer list was diverse and everything was good. We loved everything about this place! Came in on an unseasonably cool 74° August day; a lovely light breeze joined us on the spacious covered patio with a gorgeous mountain view! We gathered a group of friends for a late lunch one weekend for Cinco de Mayo. It is busy and there is plenty of outdoor seating. The venue is very good and child friendly with a place for kids to safely explore and run around. They have the craft kitchen inside and beer taps. Serving up pizzas, sandwiches, a few vegetarian options and creative appetizers. Outside there is a taco bar with chips and guac, queso and premade or build your own tacos. They have 3 margarita mixed drinks as well. They have fresh squeezed fruit mixes too, but came to find out they are pre-mixed. We weren't entirely sure the containers were shaken up before poured as the drink tasted of mostly mixer. The food was pretty good, we ordered the trout and avocado sandwich and an order of the truffle fries. The sandwich was great and the fries were crispy. A few others had tacos and they were ok but nothing over the top. Overall it was a great space to go for lunch but it will get hot in the summer. You can cool off inside with the AC and ice cream counter that is adjoined to the bar area. If you're looking for gluten free, vegan or other dietary options, there's a paper menu that spells it all out for you so you don't need to ask 20 questions. On our recent trip we got the truffle fries without the Parmesan and they were great! Also, the hummus duo without pita and extra veggies. That was really good and filling, too. The customer service is very friendly and helpful, like all places should be, but sadly are not so much anymore. They have lots of beer on tap (none GF from what I could tell) and cider for me. When we visited in the summer, the outside container had a taco bar that had a gluten free and vegan taco option and amazing margaritas. I'd love to see more vegan AND gluten free options, or items that could have substitutions to make them that way, just NOT the Beyond or Impossible Burgers please...those are not food, lol. read more

Was visiting Townsend from CA and meeting some friends/family. We saw Peaceful Side Social on our way into town and decided to give it a shot. Loved the adult beverage selection! Would have liked to have tried a few more of them. We ordered a pretzel and beer cheese to share - would definitely get that again! My husband and I ordered pizzas - I had the sausage with vegetables and he got the margherita. They were having trouble with the ordering system that night, so initially our order was lost.... Everyone else got their food - we waited a bit and then asked about it. Oops.... it was missing. They quickly brought out our pizzas and all was fine! I REALLY liked my pizza. Salads, flatbreads, hummus, sandwiches, beer, and even a place outside for kids to runaround. The food was good! We got the three meat pizza and a garden salad to split for two people, and it was the perfect amount of food. I LOVED the homemade ranch dressing on the salad (we opted for that instead of the vinaigrette that it comes with). The pizza/flatbread was just okay to me. I wish there were a little more toppings. This place is practically perfect. Here's why: 1. The food is amazing. We tried the wings, fries and pizza. The wings were juicy and tender and fell off the bone like a good wing should. The buffalo sauce was not too hot and had a smoky undertone. The ranch dressing on the side was amazing. We used it for our fries too. The pizza was perfect for sharing and had a thin crispy/chewy/bubbly charred crust. We tried the margarita and pepperoni bacon ham. The fries were out of this world good, crispy and well seasoned. 2. The service was pleasant, quick and helpful. From the food runners to the management it seems like the staff is actually happy to be there. 3. Efficiency. You order at the counter when you enter, find and seat and your food is brought out. We were there on a Saturday around 7, we got the last open table. There is bar seating and larger tables available too. 4. Good beer list. Lots of choices, and ciders available too. Overall I feel like this is what many startup restaurants strive to be. As a bonus, an affiliated ice cream shop is adjacent and accessible from the dining room. There is also ample seating outside for the warmer months. read more
