Cute little outside seating area with umbrellas and trees for shade. The outdoor area is adjacent to the Little River. They are dog friendly, but you have to walk through the restaurant to go outside. Our server, Jessie brought a nice cold bowl of water for our pups. The food was just "ok". My husband's fries were undercooked and my Reuben was lukewarm and the bread was soggy. If it had been delivered fresh off the grill I'm sure it would have been much better. It's okay. I was by myself. I walked in, I guess you could sit at the bar. There's no one to greet you or direct where to go if you don't want to sit at the bar. So I was a bit confused on what to do so I had to ask a waitress that was already clearly stressed out. I sat outside. Not all tables have umbrellas, so that was a bit miserable in the middle of the day. I decided to take my stuff to go because of that reason. I got the chicken pesto panini. It's nothing fancy. I probably won't be back, but if you're looking for a casual spot and you're not in a rush, this is it. They seem to be dog friendly too. read more

One of the few places in Townsend with a full bar, this spot offers a relaxing outdoor seating area. The staff were friendly, and our waitress, an older woman, was particularly kind. I felt a bit sorry for her as she had to handle all the outdoor tables and bus the tables herself--definitely a sign that the place could use more staff. The food was okay-ish; the corn dogs were the best thing we had. My buffalo chicken panini had too much blue cheese, and the coleslaw, while tasty, was overly soggy. Had a really good stop at Little River yesterday! HH & I wanted some place different and casual, we found it all at Little River Pub & Deli. Lots of friendly team members were quick and not hovering over us. Lots of great humor & decorations as well. How was the food... great! The drinks we had ... yummy! HH (hungry Hubby) had "Tri-hop Brown Ale" and enjoyed it so much he had a second! I had their Hard Cider on tap, if it weren't for the fact I had a meeting to go to, I would have had another. HH ordered the Chili & half sandwich, the "Hillbilly Hamwich" it was very tasty and hit that hungry spot in his tummy. I DEVOURED the "City Folk" panini! We celebrated our anniversary by tubing at River Rat, approximately 5 min. away. Instead of going to a restaurant nearby that we've eaten at we wanted to try a new restaurant and based on the positive ratings chose Little River Pub & Deli (LRPD). When we entered the bartender greeted us right away, and the waitress who served us was very friendly and attentive as well. Unfortunately the food and beverages didn't rate as highly as the personnel. We ordered the queso and chips to start, along with a watermelon margarita for me and a different drink for my husband. The queso came in a small styrofoam cup and seemed like it had been poured from a jar and heated. The drinks tasted good at first, probably because we were so thirsty. Even though I was only halfway through I ordered another when the waitress asked. I shouldn't have because the bottom of each was way too sweet, as though the drink was 95% margarita mix and 5% moonshine. My husband commented that he did not think there was any alcohol in his drink and I had to agree. This is not to say we are big drinkers, quite the contrary, but if I am paying $10 for a margarita, I want at least a little zing in the drink. Back to the food. Based on the description on the menu we both chose the LeConte ("premium roast beef stacked high, sharp cheddar cheese, Callie Sue Sauce (savory horseradish garlic sauce)) with chips for him and tater tots for me. What arrived did not look like we'd expected. What we got were 2 cold roast beef sandwhiches on wheat bread with 2 triangles of cold cheese on each half with so little sauce it was indistinguishable and dry. My tater tots were white and his chips were in a bag. We ate a little, paid, and left. Despite the food being so bad we did tip the waitress 20% because she did provide good service and was not responsible for the watered down drinks and bad food. Next time we are in the area we will give LRPD a wide berth and eat elsewhere. read more

Definitely not the same level of attention being paid to quality as when the original owner was still there. "Piled high" roast beef sandwich with sharp cheddar and a homemade horse radish sauce sounds amazing, right? I thought so. What was served was 2 slices of ice cold bread with three small (prepacked style cold cut) slices of beef and a slice of orange colored cheese that had no taste at stuffed inside the bread. Certainly nothing resembling the undeniable taste that sharp cheddar always offers. It looked and had the rubbery consistency of Velveeta or an imitation American. Very misleading from how it was described on the menu. The curly fries were $2 addditional and consisted of tiny pieces of fries. Clearly broken off what once were intact curly fries. So small that we had to ask for a fork in order to be able to actually eat them. Even the appetizer was struggling. Chips and queso. Most of the chips looked and tasted like generic store bought chips, with mostly small and broken pieces piled on top. We counted six (yes, I said SIX) intact tortilla chips in the entire pile. Whomever thought that it would ever be acceptable to dump (what looked like) the bottom of a bag of tortilla chips into a dish and allow it to leave the kitchen to be served to paying customers needs some training and counseling on what quality control looks like. Again, Sarah was fabulous, attentive and very helpful but food is what we went there for and what we were served did not earn another visit. read more

Jennifer our server was such an amazing waitress! We had a group of about 25 and she handled us like a pro! The food was so amazing that when the cook came to the table we all cheered her. It was pouring down raining so we couldn't be outside unfortunately but we will be back to do that next time. The atmosphere was as cozy and warm in the entire place, with the owners coming by many times to make sure our visit was perfect. Where do I even begin, 40 minutes for an overcooked cheeseburger. The bun so tough, I set it aside and didn't bother. That's after our waitress seemed bothered to bring us utensils when asked, the second time, because the first time she only brought 1 set. She took my wife's food order and was about to walk away before I told her I also would like to eat. My wife's turkey club and fries were barely adequate, she was almost finished eating before my meal had even arrived. We left Cades Cove hungry and found this place was open and saw it had great reviews so we stopped in. We walked in and were told we could sit anywhere including outside. It was a pleasant day so we sat outside. It was very peaceful with a nice view of the river. Jonathan C was our server and he came right out with menus and took our drink order. We ordered the hummus with pita chips. We also ordered the Boyd sandwich to split with the jalapeño chips. The hummus came out right away and it was delicious. They split the sandwich for us. Great lunch or early dinner option for deli sandwiches with "moonshine meatballs" in Townsend, TN. I came here after flying into Knoxville, TN around 5pm on a Monday. The service was friendly and prompt. Most guests eat on the patio, but indoor seating is pleasant as well. I had a cup of sweet tea and waited for the appetizer dish of moonshine meatballs to arrive. Get this dish! It reminded me of Swedish meatballs - but has a zesty sweetness that is addictive. I devoured all 8 meatballs quickly and decided to convert my sandwich to a "to go" order so I could settle the check and continue my long drive toward the Sinks, Metcalf Bottoms, Pigeon Forge, TN - and then a 2-hour schlep up I-40 and I-81 to Bristol, VA. The mountain scenery on the 2-lane road going to the Sinks was a lovely in the late afternoon. I have been here a few times now (just moved here) and have to say I like their sandwiches. However, I think I will get to go only now. I'm not sure what's up with the staff, but every time I go they seem bothered (even when not busy), especially at the bar area. Their is one waitress their with short hair that's seems on the ball (have seen her just recently), and will actually greet you with a smile, but has not served me. Maybe bad timing on my part.
