Unfortunately, my most recent visit made it clear that I need to change providers. Our appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. We arrived on time, and after vitals were taken, we were told to wait for the doctor. We waited over an hour before Dr. Blair came in around 9:30. When she arrived, she was extremely rushed, did not listen carefully, and did not give my concerns the attention they deserved. The appointment was for two of my children. Before I could fully discuss my concerns for my first child, the doctor closed the chart and moved on to the second child. When I tried to bring up an additional concern for my first child--something I had scheduled the appointment for--I was told it could not be addressed and that I should use telehealth instead. I was also told she needed to leave because another patient was waiting. I understand doctors are busy, but when an appointment is scheduled, parents should feel heard--especially when it comes to children's health. The experience felt rushed and transactional, not caring or patient-centered. It was clear that multiple patients were scheduled at the same time, which affected the quality of care. This was a very disappointing and stressful experience, and it ultimately led me to decide to change pediatricians. I hope the practice considers scheduling changes and communication improvements so families feel respected and cared for.

We first saw the Nurse Practitioner there yesterday and she was horrid. She wanted to send us to the emergency room before even really examining our 11 month old based on her seeming "lanquid"-she was asleep in my arms. She missed an ear infection and, despite thinking she may have a urinary tract infection, wanted us to go to the emergency room so they could catheterize our infant and they could potentially perform a lumbar punch. This is a horrible overreaction that would have greatly increased the distress and pain of our child. We were able to bag some urine with the nurse's help, see that it was a UTI and see a doctor there after complaining at the front desk. The doctor we saw, Dr. Fiona Blair, was wonderful, very professional and was able to diagnose the issues behind the prolonged fever of our 11 month old including an ear infection the NP did not see. The nurses who helped us and the doctor are why this is not one star. That was yesterday and when we went back for a follow-up today to see how the antibiotic was doing, the same NP then said both ears had infections but the left was getting better (the doctor had not seen any in this ear previously) and diagnosed our infant instead with wheezing and wanted us to give her an inhaler and breathing treatments. It was overall a horrible experience causing excess distress to our poor baby. The doctor, Dr. Blair, and nurses were great but if you go, make sure it is not with the nurse practitioner we saw.

However, the front office staff and office policies have not been a good experience. I recently moved out of state and attempted to access my records via the patient portal and could not access them. Per an email request, I received a phone call saying I could complete a form for my new physician (I've already done this) and if I wanted my records I could PAY A FEE for them to be provided via CD. I have two overwhelming concerns: 1) I and/or my insurance company have paid through the nose for medical care for the past 8 years; and 2) who uses CDs anymore-- new computers don't come with a CD drive! What century are you in? Everything is cloud-based now and precisely why I should be able to access my records via the portal. As an example, I can access my Emory and Mayo Clinic records today (some are over 2 decades old and others over a decade old). This is a terrible business practice and nothing but a MONEY MAKER for this practice. I'm hugely disappointed in this nonsensical practice. And, I would also be concerned about a medical office SNAIL MAILING private, medical records. Isn't this a HIPAA privacy concern?

In January 2025 I made an appointment for the earliest new patient appointment, which was in June 2025. I decided to wait for the appointment because I really appreciated the philosophy found on the website and definitely liked the glowing reviews. I had positive interactions with all staff I encountered and the clinic was clean and bright. The provider I met with suspected a new problem/diagnosis and so started a work up with labs and imaging. Clinic staff did follow up with me once labs resulted out and referred me to a specialist. The ordered imaging was performed ~2 weeks after my new patient appt but I never received follow up, from the NP or anyone else at Ponce Primary Care re: the imaging results. It has now been ~3 months since my last communication, specific to my care, with anyone in this office. I decided to reach out to discuss the standard of care, which I felt to be lacking. Dr. Chad Costley did return my call within an hour or so and he did verbalize disappointment with my situation. He assured me that my experience is unfortunately the exception to their typical patient experience. I was informed that the NP I had been assigned to was "only part-time and here less than a month". I did not ever receive any communication from Ponce Primary Care to notify me that my assigned provider was departing or to invite me to call to schedule with another provider for seamless continuity of care. I was told that my imaging results were never sent by the imaging facility I went to and that "this is where the wheels came off". That is absolutely possible but it was also not confirmed to be true at the time of the statement. The report not being in the patient chart does not mean it was never received by the ordering office or sent to the ordering provider. Sometimes things get scanned and assigned incorrectly, or not scanned at all. Lots of possibilities there. To me, that shows a lack of accountability for not holding a supervisory review of a departing provider's caseload/EMR task list and it also fails to consider that an out-of-state fax number associated with the ordering provider could be the problem. I waited 6 months for a new patient appointment and, whatever the circumstances, was lost in the shuffle. I will not be continuing with this practice, although I'm sure they have many satisfied patients as evidenced by their overall rating. My advice if you wish to establish/continue care here: Be able to advocate for yourself and for your own healthcare. Be knowledgeable about when to follow up on your care in case the practice doesn't. If the wait is still 6 months out for a new patient appointment when you try to schedule, do not think an extra special or VIP experience awaits you - realize that they just might be too busy to accept new patients.

Inside, the building actually makes sense--floors are organized by function, and we never got lost trying to figure out where we needed to be. After experiencing so many hospitals that feel like mazes from decades of renovations, this hospital is a remarkable example of great planning and efficient operation. But what truly stood out was the staff. Every single person--from the security guard who greeted us warmly at the entrance, to the receptionist who walked us to the right areas instead of just pointing, to the nurses who checked in with us while we waited while imparting genuine care for our relative, this place oozes of excellence. The surgeon took the time to explain everything clearly and answer our questions without making us feel rushed. If you're facing surgery at this facility, you can walk in with one less thing to worry about. Based on our experience, you'll be in excellent hands.

I never made it into the practice or a doctor, the lady who answered the phone for scheduling was so rude, dismissive and abrasive that I didn't want to go any further. I never wanted to deal with that type of attitude again- so I found another doctor.
