Peachwave is absolutely delicious! The place has only been open for two days & it was completely packed when I visited! The self-serve concept is fabulous - I sampled the cheesecake, coconut, and strawberry flavors & it was AMAZING! (try the coconut!) The toppings are fresh & delicious - no canned, soggy fruit here!! I also really appreciated the workers quickly wiping up any over flow of frozen yogurt or toppings, the place is absolutely spotless. The price is very affordable too - most do-it-yourself places kill you on the price per pound, my husband & I went overkill on frozen yogurt & toppings & it was only $9 for the two of us! being that i am in love with soft serve, and i love extra toppings this is by far my favorite treaty place. Usually treat myself to coconut, coffee and just added (atleast since the last time i went there, which may have been a few months ago) pistachio. SO GOOD. Always friendly service, and always have plenty of toppings. I am always surprised when I get my price i usually dont spend more then 3$ , which is awesome. Love this place! Love the idea of picking my own flavors. It's nice they offer fruit toppings and not just the 'normal' toppings. I go for the 'healthy' my wife goes for the 'chocolaty'. Can be very busy in the summer and even some weekend nights in the winter! We come here at least twice a month (more times in summer). Very cool atmosphere. The prices can be a bit high especially if you 'fill' your cup. They give you 2 choices of cups.....medium or large. Wish they offered a 'small'. read more

I can't help but wonder when the whole frozen yogurt empire is going to come crashing down. Is it just me, or are there at least five different chains in every small town and city? My tiny college town had two of them on the same street, about a block apart. Though the ubiquity makes me roll my eyes sometimes, I enjoy stopping here every now and then. I like the do-it-yourself aspect (although why do they need four or five teenagers wandering around behind the counter when only one is needed to man the register?) and the sheer variety of flavors and toppings. The prices are reasonable and the location is great, as long as you're willing to deal with the roving packs of high school hipsters that wander over from Molten Java. Unfortunately, the do-it-yourself idea is a double-edged sword. The number of kids I've seen putting their hands in the toppings and touching the yogurt dispenser spouts makes me cringe. I remember standing before all the yogurt machines, watching a little girl put her finger into the dispenser, lick it clean, and put the same finger back for more. Two other kids were touching the candy toppings, ignoring the scoops and picking pieces out to eat. In both cases, the parents were looking the other way and the kids behind the counter were doing nothing to stop it. I've been to buffets with signs saying that kids under a certain age can't serve themselves, and I think Peachwave would benefit from such a system. I love kids, don't get me wrong, but I can't help but feel grossed out when their unwashed hands are in my food. Bored-looking kids behind the counter - maybe help police the self-serve aspects of the store? I'd prefer that the healthy froyo bacteria be the ONLY kind of bacteria in my dessert. read more

Serve yourself from any of the numerous frozen yogurt flavors, then top it with tantalizing fresh fruits, cookie crumbles, nonpareils, M&M's ... you name it! The flavors are constantly changing, which I guess can be a good thing, but very disappointing when you go in craving a certain flavor, and leave with something completely different. The ingredients are cheap...chocolate chips have been replaced with small, waxy, "Carob chips," or the vegan alternative to chocolate. Peachwave is an ultra-modern looking frozen yogurt menagerie, the major draw being that you dispense your own yogurt and toppings; and then you pay by the weight, which at Peachwave is rather cheap. Peachwave is exceptionally clean and sleek looking, I think it's best described as the Apple Store of ice creameries. There's a plentiful amount of seating both inside and outside making it very comfortable and a hot-spot of social activity in town. If there's one downside to Peachwave, and it's one that I personally have a hard time accepting, it's that all the frozen yogurt is diet in some fashion; sugar-free, low-sugar, low-fat, and fat-free, but unlike TCBY (another frozen yogurt exclusive place) there's no regular frozen yogurt. I think that, honestly, if you're making the conscious decision to eat frozen yogurt, you should expect it to be unhealthy as a cost of it being so delicious. I often find myself having to add an extra amount of toppings to mask the funky diet after-taste. Peachwave is certainly worth checking out, and for long-time residents of the area it's worth noting that Peachwave certainly replaced Scoops as King Ice Cream; however, until they add an option to just enjoy good old fashioned frozen yogurt without an odd diet taste to it, I can't enthusiastically recommend it. read more
