We will never be back here again! We took our dog here 2 days ago for a full service (4 hour) package & 6 hours later he came out with uneven hair not looking like what we had asked for! Also our dog was very lethargic & definitely not himself at all, we were to the point of taking him to his vets office to be checked, but he's finally getting back to normal (we figured he was under a lot of stress being there)! The owner is very rude, has no patience, yells at the animals, constantly cusses, has her under age son help with everything (but he is polite, respectful, knowledgeable, & hard working), she also blames the cuts & burns on our dog on allergies! We were scheduled to take our mini schnauzers there today but obviously didn't! read more

Had to bring a clients dog in for a long overdue grooming. These big cutie is a super wiggler and total goofball. The folks at Peachy Kleen do another clients pup so I gave them a desperate call for quick service. They made room in their schedule and made dropping off a new client super easy. They took this wild beast with some Brambles and mid stick in this huskydoddle coat with kind words and pats. He's a naughty one and they handled him so well. He looked so happy when I picked him. don't bother. the lady who owns it is nuts. very erratic unpredictable service. one time it's great and the next time it's awful. the employees come and go. you have to buy an overpriced "package" and cannot get individual services. totally and completely overpriced. there is a new lady nearby you can use; just google pet grooming in leland. it is february 2024. the good reviews were usually done by their friends. read more

I take my morkie and my father's shipoo to Peachy Kleen.. This is the 3rd visit for both. The owner is always there, and comes out to greet you. The location is no frills, but this is overshadowed by the kindness and warmth that I feel. The receptionist is a young man I believe to be the owners son. He is always professional. This place at one time was amazing. Not sure what happened. The lady is so rude now and her kids are too young to be making appointments and dealing with customers. I think the lady is over worked because she is the only person I ever see there now. Regardless she needs to adjust her attitude. The loose my leash and collar then say they didn't have one when dropped off, what? Schedule an appointment show up and the lady says she didn't call to confirm, what, the appointment was made two weeks in advance. Next time I'll call you to confirm. Wasd tools to pick up at 3pm, had to come back 3 times before my dog was ready. Not one call saying they were running behind. The cuts are no longer great, they look very rushed and gashed. They use to always do the ear hair now I have to request it. They miss doing nails now. Quality has really went down. They need more help I believe. read more

My Ellie has been going to Peachy Kleen for as long as I can remember! Amanda does a wonderful job and I couldn't possibly ask for a better groomer. She does a great job of keeping track of what we do with my pup each time. Our newest puppy went for the first time over the weekend. Our newest labradoodle, Scarlett, does not have the same outgoing, happy-go-lucky spirit that our older Ellie does. Scarlett is a little more timid and shy at first. Amanda came out very quietly, sat down with Scarlett, and made sure she felt comfortable before ever taking her into the back for her groom! Afterward, Scarlett looked fantastic and did a great job! Then why agree to do in the first place? My daughter took the day off work. It would be very prudent for this business to hire someone to answer phones and schedule appointments. First two experiences were great. Getting a hold of them is not so great. Voicemail messages are not being returned, three calls and I finally received a call back, VM message was left (outside at the time they finally called me back) to call (now that is funny right there) or text. I texted, as suggested, over 24 hours ago, no answer. I went online to schedule an appointment, that also went unanswered. It shouldn't be this hard to make an appointment. read more

My dog's appointment was for 11:15 a.m. I was told I would be called within three hours to let me know he was ready. I arrived at 4:30 p.m. to find that his haircut had not even happened yet. I waited another 30 minutes until she finally finished. Later that day, my dog could not even be picked up because he was in pain. He was hopping around on three legs. I don't know what's happened to this business. I used them for dog grooming for six years before moving to another area nearby, but was in town for a few days and thought it would be nice to use the familiar dog groomer. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Let me start by saying that I did leave a very good review after our first visit here 10 months ago. Things definitely change. I had scheduled a 9AM appt for my 18 year old, incontinent, blind, and deaf dog Sid, and as I live in Lake Waccamaw, I got there at about 9:05. As with my previous appointment 10 months ago, stated that she is on Proin, and that they may want to muzzle her because she may snap as she can't see. The girl that came to the door said she thought we were scheduled for 11 and then came back and said I was right it was 9. Took my leash and led Sid towards the back where she said the water was ready for her bath. That is the best part of this experience. I figured it shouldn't take but a couple of hours with a 9AM appt, and I figured I'd hang around Leland down by the Riverwalk for a few hours. Came back and visited a few stores and pulled back in the parking lot around 1:30. I called to see if Sid would be ready anytime soon, and I was told that she "didn't dry properly" (what does that mean?) and that she'd probably take until around 3. So I went to Harris Teeter to grab some lunch, came back and parked in the parking lot right in front of the shop. 3 o'clock came...no phone call. 3:30 came....no phone call. Meanwhile 3 other dogs were picked up in the time I sat there, and one of the girls took one cigarette break and another took 3. I called back around 3:40 and they said Sid was on the table and would be about 10 more minutes. THAT isn't even the bad part of this. At about 3:45 one of the girls came out to ask if I would come in and help hold Sid so they could finish her up because she wouldn't stay still and she was snapping at them and wasn't happy. When I got in there I was HORRIFIED!! The place was filthy. Nothing like I remember it from before. There were crates (not big ones) lined up against the back wall with at least one dog yelping and crying like he or she was dying. (I felt sorry for the dog). I picked my dog up to put her on the table to let them finish and there was blood all over the floor. I say, "is my dog bleeding?". Sure enough they had cut her quick on the back right paw. Now, I only take her to the groomer now because she's older and it's harder for me to do now. I know that when you cut a dog's quick it hurts, and they react. I also know that when you do it, you'll know pretty much immediately. And nobody was planning on telling me this? I also now know why she was snapping at them. Hell, I would have tried to take an arm off if I couldn't see or hear and someone did that to me. After SEVEN HOURS I finally rescued my dog. I kid you not, I was apologizing to Sid while we were still in the shop!! This place should not be operating. Oh get this...after they asked MY help to do THEIR job, and terrorizing my dog for 7 hours, they still charged me half price. Not only would I not recommend this place, I'd recommend it be shut down. read more

I've been a customer of Peachy Kleen for several years now. Up until a couple months ago I would have given them a 5 star review. But since the Covid outbreak, things have gone so far down that I am being generous to give 2 stars. Let me relate my most recent interaction. I called to make an appointment. Phone rang and rang and finally got a recorded message that they were busy and that I should leave a message. So I did, wanting to get my guy in on a Saturday. I got no return phone call. So I tried again a couple days later. No return call. I finally went on line and made a schedule request for the upcoming Saturday at 9 a.m. They sent me a confirmation for Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. I tried to go on line to change that but that isn't an option. They send automatic reminders that give their number to call if you need to change the appointment so I tried calling again. Got the voicemail. Left a message. Tried again later, left a call back number. Tried sending an e-mail but they don't have e-mail. Finally on Monday they called to tell me they would not be able to do the Tuesday appointment, but they had never gotten any of my messages. They didn't even know I called. So we rescheduled for the following Saturday at 9 a.m. as I originally wanted. I got the reminders just fine. Saturday rolled around and I got the dog out, took him to the shop only to find that they are closed. There is a sign on the door saying they are awaiting Covid clearance to re-open. I get having to close if there was an active test in the shop, but why couldn't they call to cancel the appointments? No call, no text...nothing. That whole experience, to me, says they really aren't customer focused anymore. I am currently looking for another groomer in the area. read more
