Brought pee pads for my little dogs because they can't go from 6 or 7 pm til 7 or 8 am without relieving themselves. The pads were used 1 night out of 5. So my dogs peed their beds. The beds were removed to wash but never returned. They had to sleep on the concrete floor for most of their stay. They did put a comforter in there for 1 night. But it was peed on because pee pads that I supplied were not put down. So after that was removed, they had nothing. The camera is grainy at best especially at night. And my dogs stayed by the glass doors so I couldn't see them most of the time as the camera didn't show that area. So it was useless to pay for that when 90% of the time, you can't see them. Before we found Surf City Pawville, he would struggle with groomers, and often times it could take up to an hour to get the job done. I've taken Maui to pawville before for grooming, so I figured this was a good opportunity to try out their boarding, and it was honestly the greatest decision I coulda made. I rented him a townhome with a webcam, and booked him for daycare on both days that I was gone. Being able to peek in on him every once in a while was such a comfort, and they sent daily report cards with photos that were just so adorable and very appreciated. Came in as a walk in for nail grinding and they took us in immediately! Theres a mini bus out in the beginning of the route with pawville all over it letting you know just where it is. The building itself is super cute with plenty of parking space. There's a grassy spot to the right with a pet waste station so perfect for a little potty time before bringing your pyps in. Everyone was so nice. After explaining what horrors had happened at an petsmart just for nail grinding, they did perfect on my boy Choco's nails! Even got his dew claws which for some odd reason most places seem to miss. They were so gentle with him and even mentioned how he did so well! He's been traumatized by nail clippers from his previous owner whom of which snipped off all his nails far past the quick when he was only a few months old so really just sticking to grinding keeps him from freaking. They reassured me and he came out with perfect dremmelled length nails! They have treats right at the front desk and shelves with goodies ( different type of chews like pig ears, etc) and a wall full of leashes, harnesses and different accessories for your pups. I was actually really excited to try out this place for my dog's nail trims since it's much closer to home. If I could do it myself I would, but he hates having his paws touched and I can't hold him alone. The lady was super sweet but I paid for his nails to be left completely untouched. I had made an appointment over two months in advance for my dog to be groomed. I walk into surf city Pawville at 8:30 and I'm informed that I was called at 8:05 to tell me the groomer is sick. I was very disappointed because my dog is in a costume contest on Saturday. Very disappointing because I made this appointment over two months ago. Then I pick the dog up from daycare there and he smells worse than he did before I dropped him off! I can't imagine what an 11-year-old did to smell so bad?! The picture that I got on his report card showed him sitting in a cement area indoors on a beautiful day like today. Lastly, I'm informed that the groomer doesn't make any kind of concessions or tries to get you in earlier. The next appointment isn't until late December!!! That is completely unacceptable. Awesome staff! The only downside was the vet bill we had after attending pawville for the first time. Teddy attended daycare on a Monday and by Wednesday 3 out 4 paws were extremely red and irritated. I took him to the vet, and they said that he has been in contact with something that has caused a lot of irritation. The constant licking created wounds that then became infected. We were given a steroid and antibiotic. I let the vet know that we attended pawville this week, and they said Teddy was the third case this week that has had the same problem. They figured it was a cleaning regimen that some dogs might have a reaction to or lack of cleaning. Our vet has notified pawville, and we have been told it has been taken care of. The vet hasn't had another pup come in with an issue since. Also, it was pretty hot day and they were out in the hottest part of the outdoor play area. When I dropped him off there was an empty dog pool and just a small pail to drink from. Some dogs can handle it, however if your dog has long hair or is not used to being out in the heat for extended period of time, it may not be the best fit. read more
