This isn't a traditional food/drink review but I still wanted to post about my wonderful experience…read morewith the owner Sadie. I'd seen that Sadie had hosted small gatherings previously so I reached out to see if she'd be willing to share her space for our small group. She was easy to contact, very responsive and elated to help out for the sake of building community when I shared the purpose of our get together. She stayed late to host and provided 'your choice' holiday beverages at a flat rate for the evening. There are plenty of intimate small cafe tables and a comfy cozy couch that made for the perfect space for our after hours girls night. Sadie is truly a gem and I look forward to stopping in again soon!

The cafe space is large. Decor is shabby (stained, worn high-traffic carpet; dingy walls), but it seems like management is trying hard with tchotchkes. At least one person was taking advantage of free WiFi to work. The barista was working in a sketchbook and talking with two guys from a local auto place, who were loudly discussing how they scam out-of-towners. Service was prompt and friendly. My mocha was way too sweet and the sip I had of my mom's cappuccino was so-so. I think with a little elbow grease and attention to detail Sadie Mae's could be a great local cafe, but I left feeling underwhelmed .

The problem was that the bags were right behind an incorrect sign on the refrigeration case. I hadn't bought Kaffir lime leaves in years, the last time they were packaged dried in the bag. I just figured this time that perhaps the leaves were being sold fresh now. At least the Chinese Long Beans actually were Chinese Long Beans.

This was my favorite Asian grocery in Kitsap county and the only one I shopped at. But last week…read morewhile picking up some fried chili crisp, the bottle was stacked so tightly in-between a row of two other products, I accidentally knocked a jar over. And in a move to save the jar I quickly moved my basket under the falling jar to catch it to stop it from breaking in the floor. Unfortunately, the quick motion of my basket caused a bottle of banana ketchup to be knocked off a lower shelf and break in the floor. Upon, checkout I was made to pay for the bottle that broke. Okay, I get it you're a small business and every penny counts, and I average over $100 of my grocery budget there every month. But from a customer service standpoint to make me pay for accidentally knocking a bottle to the floor? Sure you saved $2.69. But once again from a customer service pov, did you save $2.69 OR did you LOSE over $1200 a year in patronage, because I'm never coming back. There's other Asian groceries in the area that I can get all the same things I get at your store.

The bar is crowded, shared tables which some people will love the social, communal setup, while others might find it a bit uncomfortable or lacking in able to have good time with their own company. It definitely encourages conversations with others though. Overall, it's an interesting spot with a strong identity. The experience is solid, but it won't be everyone's favorite depending on what you're in the mood for. Food was ok, but might want to eat before you go.

It wasn't as busy when we got there but it did quickly fill up. I ordered a full order of wings and went with mango habeñero and salt and vinegar. I was hoping the sauce for the mango hab was like BWW but it's a tad tart here. Not my favorite and the salt and vinegar was light. The wings are huge and worth the price you pay. Way cheaper than any wings I get in Seattle haha. My friend and I tried the death sauce and it was delicious. I thought it had a perfect amount of heat and the tph? Wings my other friend order were delicious! I'd come back for those because it's a flavor bomb. Looks like a fun spot to hang out at! We'll definitely be back whenever we're on this side of town.
