These…read morecabins/lodge opened in 2010, and my husband and I have been visiting since 2011 every summer except one. I just returned from another five-night stay in one of the cabins that doesn't have plumbing. But, it's right along the beautiful lake. The bigger cabins are set back just up the hill a bit, so if you need your own potty and a shower, go for one of those. Otherwise, the shared bath is clean and nice. Shower towels are provided, so you only need one for swimming. Also, each cabin has it's own cast iron stove and wood provided. They are propane lit for a romantic glow each evening. All of the kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards (plus life-preservers) are there for the taking. There's a raft to swim out to, fishing if you get a state license, and a beautiful fire pit (wood provided). Hiking in the area is nice and varies in length and difficulty, so the whole family can enjoy. All meals included - Breakfast and lunch family style - all dietary needs are met - allergies, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc. (And a bag lunch to go). They even have trail mix and home baked goods available all day. You don't have to bring any food (and they have wine and beer available to put on your tab at dinner - and it's a good selection, too! The food this year was outstanding. Abby's soups were gourmet, and all her dishes were as good as a good restaurant in NYC. Really. Brent, the lodge director, was great as well. He and his staff were friendly, accommodating, and informative. He takes pride in providing an amazing stay. This year there was a guitar, banjo and ukulele on the hearth in the lodge to pick up and play. There's a ping pong table, games, puzzles, books, etc. - and looking out at the view from the lodge is it's own activity. Gorgeous!! Katie brought a solar telescope to look at the sun. Very cool, and last year we looked at the moon and some planets. She also led a fun, educational program identifying skulls. DO NOT GO IF YOU NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE WIFI ALL THE TIME. I got a few texts, but not all went through --and it's not that kind of place anyway. My iPhone was just a camera for this trip. GO THERE UNPLUGGED FOR THE PERFECT STAY.

I wish they would have had the opportunity to stay at this lodge. Beautiful grounds, huge room with deck overlooking the grounds and the lake. The room showed an attention to detail that I've not seen before and we have travelled. Bathroom was large and new and stocked with high end products. Staff were outstanding. The general manager greeted us, showed us around, and made sure we we felt at home. Breakfast was included and it didn't disappoint. Would encourage the inclusion of Paso Robles wines on their wine list (they are Nor Cal centric). Other than that, wouldn't change a thing. While in town, be sure to drop by the historic railroad depot. It's a great piece of American/Canadian history. We will be back!

Our attempt at polite conversation was shot down with chilly responses and an overall irritated demeanor. The room was odd as there was a refrigerator located by the toilet and a coffee machine adjacent. Unsanitary. There is a spooky energy as we never saw Beverly again and felt like she abandoned the place after begrudgingly meeting us for check in. No dining on the premises on the Wednesday we checked in, no food delivery allowed, and no warning to book the on premises dining in advance. According to another Yelp reviewer, the dining was not worth it to begin with. I wish we had checked Yelp before booking. Beverly ruined our stay.

Beautiful Venue with Terrible Service. This is a beautiful…read morevenue managed with extreme unprofessionalism. You will pay premium rates and receive terrible treatment from the venue management. Brides need to be warned that the customer service does not match the beauty of this venue. Jenifer (venue owner) was very rude to the families of the bride and groom. She insisted upon calling a special needs child the wrong name because "that was the name written on the paper." The child understandably did not respond to a name that wasn't their own. Jennifer insisted that the Bridal and Groom parties clean up their get ready spaces before they walked down the aisle. She locks up the spaces up for the night before the ceremony and does not allow the wedding party back into the get ready spaces to freshen up or store their personal items. Jennifer did poorly in keeping the event coordinated. She contributed extreme amount of stress to the bride and groom's families throughout the event. The bride and groom were rushed out the venue before they were ready to leave, and important reception traditions were overlooked in the rush of turning the people out. The bride, standing in the driveway, exclaimed, "wait, we haven't done the speeches yet!" Jenifer was "good enough " to let the do the speeches standing in the driveway. The space was contracted by the bride and groom until 9:00 PM, but Jennifer made sure that they were out of the barn and standing in the driveway at 6:30 PM. It was APPALLING to see a couple and their loved ones treated so poorly on such an important day. I have attended two weddings at this venue (August 2020 and June 2021) and both events were strained by the demeanor of Jenifer. Brides should consider alternative options to Timber Hitch Farm. Your loved ones will be kept on pins and needles by the management and will not be able to enjoy your special day.

She made sure our day ran smooth and helped with all day of coordination which was a huge relief for me! We were given plenty of time to set up and decorate the day before and day of! I love that she has all the tables and chairs included as many other venues require you to rent those separate. Jennifer also has a wide variety of decor that is available to use free of charge in addition to lawn games! Our guests loved all the lawn games and the outdoor fire pit! I would define recommend the Timber Hitch, our day was absolutely perfect!
