Quality Homes & Improvements Cannot Live Up to Their Name!…read more On April 30th, 2013, I bought my cute little house. I feel as though I got a deal on it even though it needed two very important upgrades. It needed (and still needs) a new kitchen, and it needed a new bathroom. In the spring of 2016, I approached three contractors to make a bid on my bathroom project. Mr. Brad Dangler, owner of the company Quality Homes & Improvements won the bid and said he could do my project for about $5,500. I hired Mr. Dangler because I was familiar with his work at the Pleasant Street Inn. I was pretty confident that I was going with a trusted business who would stand by their work. The project began in June of 2016 and was finished just after July 4th. I was pleased with the work, even though he went about $2,500 over what he bid. I was told that it was normal, and that there are unforeseen expenses that occur during projects. Oh well.... I was very satisfied with the finished project. I posted photos of it on Facebook, and I was very pleased for about six months. In January 2017, upon returning home from a vacation out west, I noticed some discoloration with the floor. Bright pink discoloration was coming up through the linoleum. I contacted Mr. Dangler on January 9th asking him to come over and check it out so he could tell me what it was, and he said that he had subcontracted the floor to a company called Maroon's Flooring, and that they are no longer in business ( I wonder why?) so I would have to fix the floor on my own. After a few days of mulling this over and talking to other contractors and a lawyer, they all advised me that Mr. Dangler is in the wrong. Regardless as to whom he subcontracted the floor out to, it was and is still his responsibility. I did not sign a contract with Maroon's Flooring Company. The contractors I spoke to told me that Mr. Dangler is doing bad business practices if he can't stand by his work. I called Mr. Dangler on Sunday, January 13th 2018 as the floor is now turning brown and parts of the linoleum around the toilet are peeling up. He did not answer the phone so I left a voice message. On Tuesday, January 15th I sent Mr. Dangler a letter expressing my concern. On Thursday, January 17th Mr. Dangler called me back and said that he'd stop by to see the issue and intended on fixing it. After stopping by he said he'd try to work it into his schedule. He explained that he was presently very busy with other jobs and would get to me as soon as he could. August 2019, I texted Mr. Dangler with pictures to remind him of the bathroom job he needs to fix. No response from Mr. Dangler. I believe he thinks that if he just ignores me, that I will go away. It is now February of 2020, and I have finally come out of denial and have lost faith in Mr. Dangler. "Who pays $7,500 for a new bathroom and has to have the floor replaced six months later?" A sucker, that's who! Thanks Quality Homes & Improvements, for walking away, when this problem could have been fixed in one weekend. The "quality" work that Mr. Dangler promises is very expensive and not worth the cost. If he cuts corners, he does so for himself and not for the client. It infuriates me to no end. I am a teacher, and if I did a bad job I would be held accountable, and I would apologize and stand by my work to fix the matter. I am very disappointed in Mr. Dangler and his company, Quality Home Improvements. I would not hire them if I were you!
