Personnel at front desk do not even know how to code teeth. Have no idea what the teeth numbers are. Hygienist seems to do a very solid job of cleaning my teeth. But discussing 2nd jobs with neighboring hygienist is very distracting and suggests Drs are a hit and miss. Some work only 2 days a week, so it is usually impossible to get next day follow up on any procedure. The whole operation seems to be based on see more patients get more income. Dr runs from 5 rooms at a time working on different cases. Dr should have sent me to a specialist in extracting 5 teeth. I have had over 15 teeth extracted in the past and never experienced the after pain for over 6 weeks. Pieces of bone were left in that should have been extracted. read more

When calling for help Dentist does not return call. Ended up in hospital for five days and lost two teeth.

It is unacceptable that a practice holds $337 of my money for a procedure that I paid down on but canceled the next day. Dec. 8, 2025 scheduled and co paid $337 for procedure and canceled procedure on Dec. 9, 2025. The explanation for holding the $337 was that I had a claim that was still outstanding. Delta Dental insurance co. paid the claim on Dec. 15. but the Pearl Dental claims that they did not receive the payment until Jan. 8, 2026. Then the office tells me on Jan. 13, 2026 that it will be another 1 to 2 weeks before my refund is issued due to only having one person handling billing/refunds. Also during my prior phone calls I was told I would be receiving a call back from the billing person but never received one. Plus the procedure I put a down payment on did not have anything to do with the outstanding claim therefore that money should have been refunded immediately. I signed a document stating I was responsible for any cost the insurance company did not pay but I did not sign any document for any funds not related to a procedure to be held towards the cost of that procedure. This proves that Pearl Dental only cares about the money and not the patient. Unacceptable to basically hold hostage that amount of money especially during the Christmas holiday. read more

Told me I had 6 cavity's that needed to be filled and this was unbelievable because I take good care of my teeth. Switched dentists for a second opinion and there was only 2 cavity's that needed fillings. If you're new I would recommend finding another dentist with good reviews. read more

WAY OVERDUE REVIEW. If I could give -5 stars, I would. Dr. Graves has absolutely NO business being IN business. I have never had the most horrifying, appalling, dreadful, and just downright TRASH of an experience than whatever the heck you want to call, "Pearl Dental." Complete BS from start to finish. I went in requesting a broader, brighter smile. I was very uneducated on the processes / how to achieve the look that I wanted, but was hopeful to have a "professional" help educate and guide me to make the best decisions. Not only was I ill-advised and suckered into getting 10 CROWNS instead of the retainer or even veneers that I originally suggested, but she did such a travesty of a job that I had open margins in EVERY SINGLE TOOTH causing major bacterial infections. I was told by several dentists (in Los Angeles), after showing them the X-Rays, that I needed to have them ALL removed immediately to prevent damage to my actual teeth (whatever was leftover of them thanks to her sawing them basically off) as well as my gums. She refused to refund my whopping 12k of a shotty job and denied that her "methods" were anything less than satisfactory....despite 4+ unbiased dentists saying otherwise. HAHAHAHAHA. After threatening to take legal action, she offered half, which was just ridiculous as HALF wasn't going to even make a dent into what I needed for a whole new set of CROWNS considering I could never go back to even veneers. After much discussion with attorneys, unfortunately, I realized that dental malpractice is almost impossible to pursue as I would ultimately be paying more for legal services than what I was owed. Long story short, I would be out way more money. The lawyers felt my pain and were very empathetic as they UNDERSTOOD exactly where I was coming from, but it would be pointless with the trial and legal fees. So much more to this story, but will save you the read. Just know that this incompetent person should have her license taken away. I would not go back if they paid me! My gums were infected and she just pulled my tooth and didn't prescribe ANY antibiotics. No ibuprofen either. The doctor caught an attitude with my husband because he had his phone out and put him out of the room She left for 15 minutes after she put him out I was in pain for a whole weekend and had to go to the little clinic for the antibiotics she should have prescribed after she pulled my tooth.They never returned my call to thier emergency line after charging me 1400 dollars out of pocket.I WOULD NEVER GO BACK AGAIN 2 THUMBS DOWN . read more

First, Dr. Mathis is no longer there. The staff needs to change out his picture and put in the new dentist. I really liked Dr. Mathis. I have been going here for over a year. I like the new equipment and Paul is wonderful with her new sonic teeth cleaning thingy. I only gave 3 stars because I love Paula and the cleaning. I am less thrilled with the caps I had put on in January. I prefer a dentist that does the whole deal, not just preparing the teeth for caps. Courtney is sweet, but am not totally satisfied with my new caps. Also, okay I admit my PTSD for dentists is pretty bad, but my experience in February getting my caps put on was THE worst experience I've had at a dentist office since I was 10. read more

Paula was my hygienist and did and excellent job and was very friendly. As for the dentist.... I have seen the same dentist for 4 years and last saw them and had X-rays 6 months ago and was told I had no problems other than filling that might need to be replaced eventually. The dentist at Pearl Dental told me after my cleaning that I have "lots" of cavities and lots of issues that need to be fixed, including a crown. Now this was after I saw the dentist giving what I assume was Botox in someone's forehead in the next room (there were no partitions to provide privacy). Another issue was that they had the appointment board with patient information including full names on the screen above my chair. Which is a huge violation and very sloppy and unprofessional. Dr. Graves is one of the nicest dentist I've ever met. From the moment I walked in to the office I could tell it was going to be a great experience. The front of house staff were very welcoming and helpful. Carrie, the dental assistant, was made me feel as ease. Dr. Graves is very attentive and listened to my concerns and talked me through the process and the issues that I have. I was a patient of Dr Mathis for years and now have transitioned to Dr Graves. I have always loved the staff and their kind and gentle nature. Paula does a beautiful and thorough job cleaning my teeth and Courtney is always at the chair side assisting the Dentist with all of my dental care. This staff has stayed late and squeezed me in many times for dental emergencies. I had cosmetic veneers placed over 30 years ago and have constantly had problems breaking them. When I meet Dr Graves she suggested I replace them with a stronger and more natural Bruxer (sp?) crown in an effort to stop the constant breaking and expense. So far so good; no breaks. The process has been quick and painless and my teeth are so beautiful everyone things they are mine:) I get complements daily. I am thankful for the service Dr Graves and her staff provide and really feel as though they care. read more

She was a nightmare of a dentist. After performing a root canal, she installed a cheap temporary filling made of a putty-like material that dissolved in my mouth after a few days. Then the root canal had to be redone by an endodontist for the bargain price of $1,000 because she has missed a canal. She is incompetent and unable to perform the basic tasks of her job. read more

This dump has to be the head of the class in crooks. I made an appointment with a Dr Mathis to get a implant estimate. It said on the internet he did them. When I get back in the chair some lady shows up and said Dr Mathis isn't here anymore. I said whatever, and said I need an estimate on implants. She said Oh, I don't do implants. But while your here let me take some bite wings. Great business idea. Charge people a $100 and don't do any work for it. I wrote the BBB and this crap hole didn't even answer them. I did not go to the dentist for 8 years because of bad experiences but they made me feel so comfortable and I did not experience any pain. Absolutely terrible experience. They claimed they participated with my insurance when they didn't which caused an excess of fees. They charged for services they didn't perform in their entirety. Great dentist, professional staff. Always pleasant and accommodating. As a 10 year patient, I can say with confidence, you can do no better. General cleaning to root canals, I've been there done that and I go back time after time. They are that good. Nobody Likes the dentist, but when in need, you Want these guys.
