At the time, Pop Tart and I had known each other for only about a month. I was still potty training her, I knew very little about her previous training and I had no idea how she would behave around other dogs. She was sweet, but I live in Downtown Houston, and downtown life frightened her. That random recommendation from a stranger was a blessing! Today, all I have to say is, "Do you want to go to school?" Pop Tart immediately knows what I mean. We drive there with her window down, she recognizes the route and she can barely wait to get out of the car. Once inside, she makes a point of greeting every single member of the front office staff before she is escorted back to play. The shy dog I adopted has become confident, social and playful... a little bit bossy! Pop Tart plays well with big dogs, small dogs and takes every opportunity to zoom. For those of us who live in downtown apartments, having a safe, consistent place with both indoor and outdoor play areas is invaluable. I love that the wood fence protects the dogs from being watched or triggered by the street. BLDH has also become an important part of our community. I have met other pet parents through the business and some of our dogs now have play dates outside of school. Her 'classmates' even came to Pop Tart's birthday party! ***My entire family follows BLDH on social media because everyone feels invested in Pop Tart's days there. And they're obsessed with the content.*** The quality of care is deeply personal. Everyone knows Pop Tart. They send photos, communicate quickly and call whenever something is off, whether she has an upset stomach or has rolled herself in chalk!!! Kerry is easy to reach by email and is often available to talk in person. The daycare team is first class. We have also used training, grooming and boarding. Angel is an excellent trainer who provides detailed updates, thoughtful advice and homework that has helped both Pop Tart and me. Pop Tart now walks beautifully on a leash, can sit, lie down and stay, and I know how to redirect her when necessary. Cris has somehow managed to get her to enjoy bath time. When work emergencies have happened, BLDH has even accommodated last-minute boarding requests. That has been HUGE for me! I love that the business is locally owned, cage-free and genuinely designed around the comfort of the little dogs. Boarding dogs sleep on beds, not in cages. The online booking system is easy, the events calendar helps me plan my schedule and their social media updates about activities and last-minute grooming availability are useful. They also offer thoughtful extras, including CPR classes and lower weekend daycare rates. I do not trust anyone else to watch Pop Tart when I am away. BLDH gives her fun, exercise, structure, affection and a place where she feels completely at home. They give both of us individual attention and I truly believe they care about our lives, not simply our business. These are dog lovers who get paid to love our dogs. After research on Yelp, I contacted a couple of pet sitters and Ray's response impressed me the most. After meeting with Ray and Tracy in our home, I felt even better about the decision-they were personable and professional and the pups loved them. Their prices are also very reasonable. During our trip, Tracy was the one who visited our pups. She texted updates and pictures every night, which I appreciated. When we got home, the pups were happy and healthy, and everything was right at our place. Ray and Tracy really care about your pets and about doing a good job. We will be using them again for future trips and definitely recommend.

After spending two weeks with Pawsitive Care, and then doing day training with them for a week, she has improved so much! She's learned to walk on her leash and stay beside me waiting for me to let her know when to walk or stop, she can literally shake off her anxiety when she gets too keyed up, and she's learned to stop jumping and sit to wait for pets instead of climbing all over you. Ashley was amazing and offered advice and help even when the training period was over. Definitely recommend - my dog loved it there and it's made her (and our house) so much happier!

I chose this…read moregrooming salon based on positive reviews and drove 30 minutes to get there -- unfortunately, it turned out to be a very upsetting visit. I specifically asked to keep the long hair on my dog's back, which we had been growing out for 6 months. But instead, they shaved it completely. Even worse, they left mats behind the ears, under the chin, and on the belly. When I kindly asked them to remove the mats, the receptionist responded loudly that it would "change the dog's haircut." Seriously? I believe removing mats should be standard grooming procedure -- and if there's an issue, the professional thing to do would be to call the owner or explain. Instead, they just left them and said it would "ruin the style." Meanwhile, the haircut was already nothing like what I requested. Now I have to take my pup to another groomer to fix what they ignored -- and even they were surprised mats were left behind. Sorry, but this is not how responsible pet care should be handled. I'm really disappointed.

I provided a reference photo, and while it wasn't exact, it was still very well done. Other pros: - reasonably priced. I paid almost $65 for my small dog. - very clean and not super loud. Some places, like the previous owners of this location, did not maintain the premises. It would be noisy and smelly, and the AC would be left off. I love what the new owners did with this place! My shih tzu often gets very nervous about going to the groomers but here, she was not shaking at all.

Honestly, I could have taken him to a basic puppy class and gotten better results for a fraction of the cost. What makes this even more frustrating is that the program included follow-up support--specifically an in-home training session and an additional training session to ensure everything was going well. I never received either of those services. I called multiple times trying to schedule, and no one ever returned my calls. Additionally, when I came to pick my dog up, they had a shock collar for me, which they had me pay a additional $200.00 for, since I never heard from them again I don't really know how to use it effectively with my dog. I have done my own research, but this is HIGHLY unprofessional. That level of poor communication is unacceptable, especially given how much I paid. When I entrusted them with my dog, I was very clear about my situation. I shared that I have PTSD from my military service and work as a first responder, and that having a well-behaved dog is important for me to feel confident taking him out in public. I put a lot of trust in this program, and they completely let me down. This experience was not only a financial disappointment but also a personal one. It has been almost a year now and never once have they reached out to see how my dog is doing or see if his training is going well at home- or deliver on the promise they made. I would not recommend this program to anyone looking for reliable, effective dog training or even basic customer support.

The space looks good and my dog has been only twice but now tries to jump in the car every day thinking she is going to day care. Another thing. This is not an evil commercial place. I (stupidly) left my wallet at home one day and felt completely embarrassed asking Greg if I could pay double the next visit. He said it was no problem. So understanding! I'm definitely bringing my pup at least twice a week for the foreseeable future. Definitely recommend.

They told me about 4 hours. I called around 3:30 just to make sure they were on schedule to be picked up and I had to tell them my dogs name 3x in order for them to "know who he was". They told me 4:30. I get there at 4:30 to my dog being "mixed up" with another dog and told me they haven't even gotten to my dog yet there was another dog ahead of me and it would be 90 minutes. They had already bathed my dog so I picked him up and paid $40 for a bath after they tried to charge me $62 for a freaking bath because they thought he was a poodle. He's a Bischon mix NOT a standard poodle. To top it off I drop my dog off at daycare near my job in galleria and was initially interested in possibly bringing my dog back for daycare since it's close to home if the haircut went good. The daycare area is a joke. It's a room with dogs barking like crazy just wanting to get out of the gated area, and no staff interaction at all. They had puppy pads down and poop on the floor. I'll continue to go out of my way to Camp Run a Mutt in Houston. I will never be returning here.

They also gave me a card before I left and said I could call and check on them if I wanted too. They called me when they were ready and I went to pick them up immediately so they could come home. They were very excited to see me when I came to pick them up. As a matter of fact my smaller dog slipped her collar and came running to me. Rebekah told me they were so good and sweet. They even gave them little red bandannas. I will definitely be back again. Can't beat the service. They are a little bit pricey compared to the petco I used to take them too but to get treated well and have peace of mind to us my babies are ok is worth it to me.
