Eye exam - great! I left feeling very confident that the doctor had addressed my concerns. He performed some exercises (put your hands out in front of you, make your fingers form a diamond, and look at the screen - this was to determine what eye was dominant). He explained why our vision goes as we age (eye muscle loses its strength). He was able to examine my eyes without dilating them! (my pupils are huge). Eye exam 5 stars. Front desk/contact ordering - All OK initial visit and scheduling appointment/insurance etc. What could have been improved was specifically my experience picking up my contact lenses and after. I was given the wrong rebate form with contacts. OK, no problem. I realized the error after spending a decent amount of time trying to figure the online rebate form/specific to paper provided to me, maybe there's a new model number, and the form wasn't updated? So I call and ask...turns out totally wrong form. Person I was talking to said "why doesn't he just come here?" meaning the person answering the questions - then the person said he will call you back, took my number and last name - took a while to get this down. No one ever called back. Fast forward I go once, on a Wednesday, it's closed Wednesdays. That's on me, I should have checked? I go today, say I need a correct rebate form, not organized, not outwardly helpful (let me look up your prescription so we can get you the correct form. I know there's a time limit on these rebates." Shuffled through a messy pile of forms and handed me what I hope is correct, there was one folded up messy one left. Answered an incoming call, no "would you mind, I have to take this call" nothing to me. Took the call...put it on hold" OK...then handed me over the wrinkled single copy left that I hope is the right one. I write this review because maybe I want to know if I have unreasonable expectations. Have I turned into the mean old lady who sits on her yard and yells at kids? Because that's not me. It's like people have lost any pride in doing their job well. No "thanks for coming in, have a good day, good-bye." Nothing. Been going here for a long time. I brought my 300 dollar versaces. Within a year the prescription tint is peeling off. I sent them a email about it 3 months ago nobody ever said anything. I finally got in touch with them. They are giving me all excuses and run arounds. Instead of just saying well fix them and honor the 200 you spent to get them done. The owner is a baby who hung up the phone because he didn't like me calling his tint cheap. Grow up and learn what customer service is. What would it cost you to fix these almost nothing? Go somewhere else. These people don't appreciate business in a tough economic time. read more

Went here in May and had new lenses made (prescription from my eye doctor); after getting them ($520) I could not see properly. Had my eye doctor adjust the prescription a bit and Pearle re-did them at no cost because they do have a guarantee. I get my second lenses and once again, I can't see properly. My eye doctor discovers that my eyes are ultra sensitive to digital processing, which Pearle uses. Called the manager/owner and nicely asked if I could have a partial refund because I have to go somewhere else to get lenses and pay another small fortune . I got a hard NO and then he said "well, I'll look into and call you back". That was 2 weeks ago! No call back. Very disappointing. I'm just a customer who wanted to see clearly; not to much to ask!!! I had a horrible experience at this Pearle Vision, East Windsor location! During the appointment the doctor wrote down the wrong perscription! Luckily, I had my boxes with me to show them when ordering them! I was promised by the contact man that the lens would be shipped to me within a 2-week timeframe. After not hearing from them, I called. spoke with "the contact man" who told me -- "it will be another 2-weeks!" 2 weeks passed -- again no call!! It's now a month. I called "the contact man" only to hear "Manufacturers are having problems sending out contacts!". Strange? I didn't see anything in the news about this? I let my insurance company know about this -- They called this branch -- "the contact man" told my insurance company "he can't get them until maybe September!!" I called LensCrafters and they were able to get my contacts the NEXT DAY without any issues at all. ..but you keep trying "Contact Man" -- LOL!! I called back for a refund -- "the contact man" demanded to know "who I got them from!!" he was yelling at me -- LOL!! Rude man! If the system let me, I would give you NO STARS! Came here to bring my daughter for an eye exam. I had read reviews elsewhere saying the optometrist was really good here, but was surprised to see someone else filling in for Dr. Glassberg today. We couldn't be more pleased. She had a great bedside manner and my daughter was very comfortable. She was thorough and very informative - she answered all my questions. I actually wanted to give only 3 stars because the name brand glasses selection seem slim to choose from. The employees are helpful and friendly and space is bright and clean, so I bumped the rating up a star. What's good here was they carried kids glasses and accepted my vision insurance. The frames are very expensive though! They also offer anti reflective, scratch proof, and thin lenses if needed. It's going to cost you though. Dr. Patel is a great optometrist if she's available and I read good reviews for Dr. Glassberg as well, so if coming for an exam this place is good. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Glassband since I was in middle school, very kind and knowledgeable doctor. The office staff is terrible, from the young lady in reception who doesn't understand how to check or report insurance information correctly or the staff members submitting claims. My insurance has changed several times over the 15+ years I have been a patient, staff still continues to use old insurance. After the debacle I had with another optometrist last year, decided to try this place out. This place was worth my money. The contact and eye examinations went well. The optometrist Dr. Steven Glassband was friendly and explained things with different tests like the Optomap which took a picture of the inside of your eyes. My eyes showed no signs of degeneration or other eye problems. Also, the staff was super friendly and assisted me with finding new glasses and ordering me new supply of contacts. I have worn glasses for 25 years or so and Dr. Glassband is the best eye doctor I have had. He is very thorough and takes his time contrary to many of doctors I have seen especially lately. He caught a partial retina detachment and sent me to a specialist who initially had trouble seeing it but acknowledged it was there. If this was not caught when it was, there is a good chance I would have had a much more serious outcome. read more

I must say that the staff is pleasant and the Dr. was thorough, professional etc. However, I will never go back. For 6 months I have been asking for an explanation of benefits to be sent to my insurance company. The manager, Mike, would not return my calls in a timely fashion, refused to follow through with the insurance company, etc. I finally had to call medicare, Horizon, etc.. and handle the whole thing myself. This took many phone calls and wait time. So I have to say a ZERO for service! Maybe Mike isn't the man for the job!!!!! read more

I went to this Pearle Vision for contact lens prescription. After the exam is over, the doctor asked me which brand I usually wear, and recommended another brand, give me some samples to try on. When I stepped out, the receptionist asked me to pay. I was very surprised because the exam is covered by insurance, she explains there's a "contact lens evaluation" fee which is not covered. So I ended up paying $40 out of pocket....very disappointed....all he did is recommend another brand and hand me some samples...and I told him I just need a prescription in the first beginning.... so guys, be careful....thought you're covered by insurance....you maybe surprised by the extra charge... read more

Went for my 1st vision exam. I dont have poor vision and was given the lowesy prescription available. The doctor was very clear when explaining the exam to me and yook time to explain what would happen. Very patient. The staff was kind and friendly. I picked up a pair of glasses and rx sunglasses with my toddlers in tow. There is a little small block toy and kids area to keep them entertained. The only reason I did not gove 5 stars was because it took over 1 week to receive my glasses. Although Im new to the glasses game, I feel that is too long. 2 or 3 days max in my opinion. 3 months later i received a 40% coupon for rx sunglasses. I also feel that the total cost was a bit high for someone buying 2 pairs of prescriptions. The customer service rep was kind and gave a small discount because I did purchase 2 pairs. The store did not advertise any discounts and there was no pressure ibto purchasing from them. That was nice also. A good 1st eye exam experience. read more

I honestly can't say enough about the staff at this pearle vision location. They are patient, accommodating, friendly, and eager to help in any way necessary. Everytime I come, I come with my 3 kids. One of my kids has ADD and another one of my kids has significant behavioral disabilities which includes very high anxieties when he is with any kind of doctor. Everytime we go there, they are so patient that it blows me away. They give my kids as much time as they need and they even explain things to my son which puts him put his anxieties at ease. I live more than an hour away from this store but I would never go anywhere else. Dr. Glassband, thank you for all that you do. It doesn't get any better. read more
