I felt dismissed, disrespected, and treated differently than I believe other customers would have been. When I respectfully voiced how I was feeling, the manager responded by asking me to leave the store instead of addressing my concerns. That only made the situation more upsetting. Over the years, I have spent an incredible amount of money at this business. Not only have I been a loyal customer, but so have all of my children. It is truly heartbreaking to feel that our loyalty meant so little. I left this place with tears in my eyes. A loyal customer should never leave feeling this way. He made it so easy I thought this was pretty simple, standard stuff. Apparently not! My new optometrist, uh, to put it politely, does not seem to have Dr. White's skill or understanding of prism in glasses. I now realize Dr. White really knew his stuff, which made my optometrist visits a lot easier!

I have been to many places to have my eye exams; Pearl Vision is the first place to excel in both professionalism and customer service. With the type of astigmatism that I have, I find it very difficult to find glasses. In the past the glasses recommended to me were either way too strong, or not strong enough. I have astigmatism so I know it's really hard to adjust my prescription. What ends up happening is that I get expensive glasses that just sit there because I don't feel comfortable wearing them. This week I decided to check out Pearl Vision. Doctor Alex was great!!! He examined my eyes thoroughly. I am always very busy and never have time for anything. This appointment lasted 15 min which was great. Doctor Alex changed my prescription to a lesser strength. The part that took the longest was browsing their wide selection of glasses I was so indecisive between two frames that I really loved. I ordered my new glasses on Tuesday and the next day they were ready for me to pick up. I was very happily surprised with how quickly they worked to get my glasses to me. They fit so well that I forget to take them off. This is the first time that I really love my glasses. They are so comfortable and the most important thing is that I can see very well through them. My husband and I set up an appointment with this location for the same day. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seen promptly. Everyone was very personable and helpful. Dr. Alex was caring and very professional. He made sure that there were no questions and we weren't treated as a number or rushed in any way. Diane checked us out and even helped me to find frames that were flattering for my face. She was straightforward, but in a very nice way. She was very careful to make sure that we were well-informed about the entire process and every option we chose (unlined bifocals, size of lenses for the features we needed, cost, etc.). There was some confusion on my part in the beginning, but she was sure to make sure that she explained everything so as not to be misled or disappointed when our glasses were ready. We received our glasses within a week and couldn't be pleased more. I did call afterward to find out if something I was experiencing was normal and they took the time to reassure me that it was. Amazing experience here at pearle vision. I was referred here by a friend and I am very happy he did. They do accept eyemed Insurance plans which is also another reason I wanted to go here. I had my appointment with Dr. Alex he was extremely nice and made me feel comfortable with everything in my eye exam. While picking out which frames that I wanted to buy for my new glasses the customer service was great. Nicole and Daiane was helping me and they pulled out a bunch of frames that they thought would suit my face well. We then sat down and tried them all on and they helped me figure out which ones were the best fit for me. It was great, I ended up buying some pretty amazing frames that look great and I am very happy with them. When I picked up my new glasses one week later, Daiane helped me again and had me try them on to make sure they fit well. Pearle Vision has given me the best opportunity to write my first review ever. I walked into the Somerville location looking like a blind lost puppy, and walked out like a blind person that had regained her sight for the very first time. I have been struggling with blurry vision for awhile afraid that it would lead to needing glasses. With hesitiation I went into the office and was welcomed by Diane , the store manager. She took her time assisting me with choosing the perfect frame, and made the whole ordeal easy. She helped me find the right deal deal for my money and went above and beyond to get an extra savings. Let me first start by saying Dr. Alex is Awesome! I needed my yearly checkup before I flew out for work and she was available on short notice. From the call I made, to walking in, I was greeted by friendly staff. I waited few minutes before they started my process. Once I got in the exam room, Dr. Alex was already ready for me. We discussed pros and cons of different products (contact lenses). I asked some lengthy questions and she was willing to go in depth and provide feedback! Buying glasses here was an excellent experience. Their collection of frames is well curated, and though more expensive, they are worth the price. The staff was very pleasant and helpful without being overbearing. I had been searching for a nice pair of glasses for around ten years with no avail. In the first five minutes of walking into the store, one of the sales ladies showed me the pair I am now wearing. It was something I would have never picked for myself, but was absolutely spot on! Amazing service, saved my eyes after I had certain issues with it. Accommodated me biweekly as he was monitoring my eyes. I ended up purchasing super chic frames from them and had them make the lenses, they had the thin option which I loved, because it was a difficult transition for me, to switch from contacts back to glasses. She refuses to help clients and abruptly hangs up phones without making sure a customer is OK with any unresolved issues or concerns they may have. The issues with customer service should be addressed, especially with this one particular receptionist. Customers do not feel welcomed there and will decide to seek services elsewhere.

I strongly advise anyone considering this business to proceed with caution.

I booked directly with them online for a new patient eye exam as they were one of the closer places to me that actually takes Davis Vision insurance. The place was pretty easy to find and they have a small parking lot in the back as well which was convenient as it had just snowed and street parking were pretty tough at the time. The office is actually on the second floor when the staff kindly directed me when I was at the first floor office and I had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes after my appointment time before the Dr was ready to see me. Mostly because they would reach out to check your insurance beforehand so that was very helpful to cut down the wait time. The whole exam went very smoothly and Dr. Hussoin was very patient in answering all my questions. I was out with my new prescription in hand in maybe 20-30 minutes. I would highly recommend her for all your optometry needs !

After the exam, I was told I would only receive my prescription if I purchased lenses directly from the provider. When I refused, I was denied my prescription, pressured into a $700 rigid contact lens, and told I would no longer be accepted as a patient. My $200 exam fee was refunded, and the service was terminated instead of providing my prescription. I was also denied access to my medical records. This situation raises serious concerns under the FTC Contact Lens Rule, which protects patients' right to receive their prescription after an eye exam regardless of purchase. I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Massachusetts Attorney General. It's $200, and Google Gemini AI will tell you that the range of AI pricing should be $20-100. I priced glasses at Target Optical for $350, and Target isn't great. Online I got them for $250. Lenscrafters had the exact same glasses for $750. By the ay, they were Oakley 140 TOP SPINNER 4B, OX3136-0353, thin lenses with AR and blue light.
