I am surprised she is still there and this issue of customer treatment has not yet been addressed concerning customers who solicit your location. She is rude on the phone and I have experience her even more so rude in person. I tried to brush it off from my last visit as her having a bad day, but this seems like it is constant. She refuses to help clients and abruptly hangs up phones without making sure a customer is OK with any unresolved issues or concerns they may have. The issues with customer service should be addressed, especially with this one particular receptionist. Customers do not feel welcomed there and will decide to seek services elsewhere.

Despite my insurance covering services, I was billed extra fees just to receive a prescription and for services clearly marked as included. I ordered glasses and specifically requested they use my current prescription. The doctor had provided a placeholder for a stronger option, but I told the associate I did not want to use that for at least one pair. They ignored my request and ordered the glasses with the stronger prescription anyway. My wife returned the glasses on my behalf and explained the mistake. They dismissed her and insisted the order was correct. I couldn't get there myself without taking time off work, so I waited until my next appointment. When I explained the issue in person, I was told flatly: "That's your problem." I was stunned. No accountability. No apology. No interest in fixing their error. This business prioritizes billing over patient care. After 10 years, they showed no regard for loyalty or basic customer service. Avoid Pro Optical and take your business somewhere that values its patients.

Traveling on the road is rewarding but challenging. Many times the challenge comes down to "what…read morehappens when things don't go as planned". It's story time: Unbeknownst to me my glasses fell off the nightstand at the hotel during the night. This morning when I got out of bed I heard a CRUUUNCH and realized that I stepped on my glasses and they are bent and broken. You can imagine my panic. I took the broken frames and lens and went looking for an optometrist. The first place I ran to, that was recommended by the hotel front desk, was closed, (this is the third recommendation by the same front desk person that utterly SUCKED, but I digress), and I realized the lens is now missing! So I ran back to the hotel, found the lens (yes!) and looked for another spot. I found one on yelp (5 stars), close to the hotel, and ran there. In the meantime I called the other person working with me, to give her a heads up that I may miss the first meeting today trying to fix the problem. The lab was in this run down building, non-descript entrance, down the hall on a confusing second floor. I entered, still panicked, and showed them what happened. "Let me see what I can do" was the response (with a big disarming smile behind the mask). And with that I handed over my bent frames, lens and all. Long story short; we struck a conversation (he wants to retire in San Diego) and about 15 minutes later the frames were fixed "not perfect but that's the best I can do!" was what Yong, the optometrist said. I couldn't thank him enough! I really couldn't thank them enough for saving the day. I'm thinking of going back to buy a spare set of glasses to give them some of my business. Working with Christos was by far the best experience I have ever had. With other opticians I've found that they tend to just say "yes" to whatever you pick or to base their recommendations solely on style rather than paying attention also to fit and functionality. I inevitably left with glasses that never felt quite right or kept slipping down my face despite paying hundreds of dollars. Christos, on the other hand, is a true expert who knows how eyeglass frames should fit a face for maximum comfort and functionality while still working to find the best-looking frames for you out of his vast selection. After purchase, he is also meticulous about adjusting the frames for your face. Unlike other opticians, he actually has an opinion and can help you figure out how the frames ought to fit. And unlike most of the opticians I've purchased from in the past, he's genuinely skilled at adjusting frames and will really work with you and keep tweaking until the fit is *exactly* right. After my experience at Soma, I refuse to purchases eyeglasses from anywhere else. This is a true gem of a store and I plan to recommend it to anyone who will listen.

There were two other customers in the shop but he still took the time to make me feel welcome. He even got all three of us customers talking. The store itself is beautifully curated -- incredible selection, gorgeous packaging, even the lovely scent of the shop feels intentional. You can tell Ahmed puts genuine care into every detail. I originally stopped in because the tiny screws had fallen out of a pair of my sunglasses (that I didn't even buy there), and Ahmed kindly offered to fix them for me. He had to specially order the screws from abroad and even reinforced both sides so I wouldn't keep having the same issue. He refused to charge me for it, which was such an unexpectedly kind gesture. While I was there, I bought a pair of sunglasses and later realized I preferred another pair I had tried on instead. Even though it was entirely my indecision, Ahmed happily exchanged them for me without hesitation (I hadn't worn them). He was honest, helpful, and genuinely fun throughout the whole process -- the kind of person you instantly want to be friends with. It's rare to find this level of warmth, taste, service, and integrity all in one place. I will absolutely be back and will recommend this shop to everyone I know.
