Exceptional customer service! After dealing with blurry vision for over 10 years, I finally took the step to get it taken care of. I was incredibly hesitant as I've had bad experiences previously, but I am so glad I made the drive to this location! The location is nestled in a shopping plaza close to Whole Foods, and although the parking lot is shared, it wasn't an issue. I was immediately assisted by Sabouen - and I absolutely love her! She took care of me as soon as I walked in, and was so kind, friendly and very professional. Sabouen, along with the other workers, all had face masks on correctly - and they followed protocol in regards to having frames disinfected after being touched. This was a big plus for me! I was seen by Dr. Jimmy Nguyen - he was very respectful and soft spoken. During our examination, he addressed any questions I had, and displayed such polite demeanor. Once it was time for me to choose my frames, I struggled with choosing what looked good on me. Sabouen stepped in and provided me a couple of frames the she felt would compliment my face the best - and I am so glad I trusted her judgment! With her assistance, I was able to immediately make a selection - and she really does know what's best! I really appreciated the extra step Sabouen took to help me! Overall, my experience here was amazing - facility was clean, wait time was very minimal, and COVID precautions were followed! This independent company will OVERCHARGE tf out of you and will not show any remorse for refund, even if you change your mind a day later. You will get charged a 30% restocking fee for frames NOT in your procession and floating in the clouds. If you want to file a complaint, you'll be emailed a link which is a turn off instead of talking to a live agent, an inconvenience. Don't go to this establishment. Definitely would NOT RECOMMEND. Customer service when I walked in wasn't great at all. I wasn't treated or anything. I had to approach one of the lady's and tell them why I was there. During the whole process the lady in the front was rude to me. Customer service was a 0/10 in the front. The ONLY reason I am giving it a 4 star is because my doctor was amazing! I'm highly disappointed with how this location & Dr do business. I specifically asked for only services covered by my insurance, a contact exam & fitting. I endured an hour of my newborn & toddler crying through the exam only to be told afterwards that the fitting is not covered and I needed to pay $80 out of pocket to receive my prescription. I know this isn't a ton of money but I also have to order two separate boxes of contacts for my astigmatism that are costly. ..I knew they were wrong but they stuck to their story. I immediately went outside to call my insurance. The insurance confirmed that I was fully covered for these services. They called Pearl Vision to get to the truth. It turns out I was fully covered for the contact fitting but Pearl Vision did not want to wait to get paid through the insurance so they are forcing patients to pay out of pocket! This is such BS! Pearl Vision should have explained this first if this is some policy they have. They wasted my time which is very valuable to me as it is very difficult to attend a Dr visit with an infant & toddler!! I would not recommend this location!! They are dishonest & inconsiderate! I have been a happy customer of this location for about 10 years, but will no longer be so. Recently I purchased some sunglasses for my wife and when the glasses came in, it wasn't what we had ordered. The sunglasses that came in are a completely different color. We tried to tell the staff there that this isn't what we had ordered they gave us an excuse of ; supplier doesn't always have the colors, the ones we wanted are custom, and they are only over seas. However they NEVER mentioned this prior to the purchase or the entire time we were waiting on them. We didn't want them and tried to get our money back, but the staff said no and they would only give me back 70% of my money. They are keeping 120$ of mine for an error they made. How is this fair? I tried speaking to the "manager" Jessica she gave bad advice telling me to call corporate, corporate then told me this was franchises and I had to go thru the owner. It's just unfortunate that a place can't be given negative stars. Very poorly managed. They were going to have me wait four hours to see the eye doctor. This is despite booking an appointment the day of and getting confirmation that it would be honored(and arriving 45 minutes before said appointment). They don't believe in communication and act like they're doing you a favor. They like having people waiting and wasting their time waiting on them. What is the point of appointments if people are going to be kept waiting for hours? I would recommend you save your time and money(also very overpriced) and go to any other vision shop in Houston. I was very disappointed in the service and the exam. The front desk person was very lax and didn't seem to be in a hurry to greet or help me out. In addition, she barely wiped off the machines with a tiny bit of alcohol and did just a cursory wipe. The doctor was unprofessional and did not listen. I repeatedly told her that I only used glasses to read and she continued to talk about multi-focal lenses. She asked me the same questions and did not seem to remember that I already answered her. The exam itself was lame. She only gave me two slides to see which was better. No eye scan or anything. A total waste of time. After the exam, I was told to go up front. Go to Horizon near Maggie Moo's instead. "Nobody cares for eyes more than Pearle" is the company tagline that does not apply to this location. After spending half a grand here, my mom couldn't see out of the lenses they made for her. When we went in to get the issue addressed, two technicians condescendingly explained several times how to use progressive lenses. She wears progressive lenses everyday, she knows how to use them. After asserting this several times, the two technicians said the prescription must have been written incorrectly and that she should go back to her eye doctor. Not once did they entertain the idea that my mom knew what she was talking about - she would know if she can't see out of her new lenses. They were defensive, they were concerned about what they deemed was correct on their end. It was the worst customer service I have witnessed. They never considered they may have made a slip or something was wrong with how the lenses were made. We went away from there angry and insulted. Do not go here unless you like wasting money. I visited this location for the first time in December (having just returned to town from college and did not feel like driving the distance to my old doctor further down highway 6). I needed my glasses prescription renewed before I was to go into surgery the following month. Had my exam and got my glasses...everything seemed to go smoothly. Returned at the end of May to follow up with a contacts fitting. I have worn Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism FOR YEARS - since the FIRST day I ever got contacts as a teenager.The eye doctor this time around was a different one than the one I saw in December. Upon inquiring about the type of lenses I normally wear, I told her, and she proceeded to tell me that "my chart from my exam in December did not show that I required the special contacts for astigmatism". She claimed that my exam showed that I didn't even HAVE an astigmatism in one of my eyes. I was extremely annoyed as I knew this was not the case. She INSISTED that I was wrong and basically tried to tell me that there was no way the previous eye doctor could have made a mistake like that. Anyway, I basically demand a re-examination, and come to find out, I DID in fact have a strong enough astigamtism in BOTH eyes to require the special contact lenses that I had previously told her I wear/need. Not only did she brush it off, like "whoops, my bad", she did not even APOLOGIZE for trying to make me feel stupid and for their mistake on the first exam in December. They ALSO would not agree to replace my glasses lenses from the exam in December, where, again, Lord only knows what kind of effed up prescription they put in. Today, thought about purchasing my contacts through them, and they wanted to charge some outrageous amount. When I mentioned 1-800-contacts has them cheaper, THEN she claims they price match for the lenses. No. I will be ordering my contacts from 1-800-contacts and never returning to this location. If you want your prescription messed up and you want mediocre customer service, this is the place for you. I think the extra distance to my old AWESOME eye doctor, Dr. Tran, at the 4555 TX-6 Sugar Land, TX 77478 location (which is now Per-Fit Vision), is more than worth not having to deal with these IDIOTS ever again. read more

Last October '17, my daughter had an eye exam and got her new glasses there. We went back within a month after she complained of headaches, her lenses were changed. We were told she has to go thru the adjustment period. But her headaches persisted less frequently, thought it'd get adjusted eventually. It didn't. It took us a while to realize that, had my daughter seen by a pediatric opthalmologist, who corrected her prescription. Went back to Pearle with it, only her left lens needed to be changed. Pearle wants to charge around $70 saying it is past 30 days now, acknowledging our original complaint was within 30 days. Should I pay, didn't get the correct lens to begin with? On top of that the headaches she suffered, the extra money spent on a specialist, etc. Let me know, thanks for your response. read more

I have been a client at this location prior, getting both the eye exam and glasses with a good experience each time but.... I had the eye exam here previous and did not have time to pick out glasses. When I returned a couple of days later the sales team was rude and in my face when questioned about how the glasses are sized so that I might get a better fit and not have to try on 50 pair of frames to find a good fit???? Staff gave me a matter of fact, "We don't do that" Never left her chair while her co-worker surfed the web and then told me to go to some other store? You get the clients you deserve! Update, I was having problems with my new prescription and so fed up from my previous visit to Pearle that I went to another doctor for a re-check, they came away with a completely different reading and when I compared to a previous eye exam found that one number never changed. DO NOT GO TO ANY PEARLE VISION. They have been doing this bait and switch for a while now and if I had done any research, I would have known about their underhanded practices. Dr. Catherine Ong is the owner of this franchise in Sugarland TX. I went in for new contact lenses. Dr. Ong had me try bifocal contact lenses, which I was hesitant to try since I have worn contacts for over 35 years and am very comfortable with my Boston II lenses. But I agreed when she said they would work with me if the lenses did not work for me. Well after the third pair was ordered, because SHE measured my eyes wrong and wrote the wrong prescription, I had a $190.00 credit due to me from the difference n the original lenses and the ones I finally ended up with. WHICH they never informed me of. I even purchased a pair of glasses and paid for them in full with cash without having been told about my credit. It was not until I asked, was I informed. Now they do not want to refund me, they are offering me another pair of glasses. I DON'T NEED another pair or anything. FYI, I was never informed about their refund policy, I was never given anything to read, nor did I sign anything. This is fraud and I have contacted the customer care center, who refuses to do anything except repeat what the store states about providing another pair of glasses. I had asked to speak to management and was informed that Janet at customer care is a supervisor. I have now written to them to escalate my complaint to Upper management but I have a feeling their are going to deny that. I only came to this location thanks to Groupon. I had decent experience overall, I mean it's a franchise, what does one expect? I got the same groupon that the person below who gave a bad review. It was good for an eye exam & $200 toward glasses/lenses ONLY. it was clearly stated in the groupon. I too wanted to be fitted for contacts and understood it was not cover by the groupon offer & had to pay extra for that as well as the contacts. They had a great selection of frames to choose from. I got one of their lower end frames which left plenty to go towards the lenses. you ask me, the groupon was better, if not about the same as using eye insurance. read more

I waited at least two hours, I Realize it was a Saturday appointment but me and my son had been scheduled for months. They try to force you to get glasses here by not providing the PD (Which is needed especially if you want to order glasses online.) with the prescription like other opticals do. They charge $10 for this information unless you buy glasses with them. Glasses here are rediculously expensive, so no thank I'll get them elsewhere. PS I walked in to a different optical and they measured the PD for free....you are a rip off in regards to glasses. Doctor was nice and helpful, staff not so much. I will not be returning. read more

I purchased a Groupon. It was not a good idea. The Groupon was for an eye exam and glasses ($200) value. I wanted contacts. I paid an additional $79 for an exam for contacts and $180 for contacts. I wanted to have new lenses put in my less than year old designer frames. I was not allowed to use the $200 toward my lenses which I was quoted would cost $453.00. They told me I had to purchase a new frame. They also told me I had only a few days to decide if I waned to purchase a new frame. The Groupon was worthless. My total expense was $300, and I don't have new glasses. Don't go to Pearle Vision in Sugar Land. read more

I will not be returning to the Sugar Land location on Hwy 6 @ 59. I purchased, and picked up my glasses on 8/15/17. On 10/3/17, I received a voice mail from Elizabeth that stated they made a mistake on the price, and I owed $40....then she changed it to $48. I still don't understand what the additional charge was for. The message further stated if my balance wasn't paid, it would be turned over to collections. Are you serious? This was the first I heard about "their mistake" and Elizabeth was threatening to turn over that unknown balance to collections. I take my credit VERY seriously and she did not handle that well at all...this was their mistake to begin with. She was also very unprofessional when I returned her call. They lost a customer, and I will never recommend them to anyone. read more

Please do not come here. This store is a franchise and if you have a problem, you can only talk to the office manager. I broke my eyeglasses last week and I ran out of contacts. I called the store twice and both times their computer system was down. Today I went there to pick up my prescription, they do not keep hard copies and the system was down again. I have very poor vision, so I asked for a free exam so I could get my contacts, they said no way (I am their customer for 4 years!) And they just gave me an exam, less than 4 months ago. 140 dollars they wanted from me. I said I am on SS can you discount the price, it is not my fault you do not keep paper records and your system keeps crashing. They said no. This is awful customer service in case of emergency. I am now sitting at America's Best on S59 and Wilcrest, waiting for a 99.00 contact exam, and they give me 2 extra years of free exams. Either 79.00 for one exam, or 99 for 3 years.
