I came here today to take the NCLEX-RN, and my experience with this testing center was great. The staff were friendly and the check-in process was really quick and straightforward. The testing rooms were the perfect temperature (I was scared I was going to be freezing) and they provide ear plugs and noise canceling headphones if you want them! read more

I can honestly say that I had a great experience here, made especially sweet by the fact that I passed my Ultrasound Physics exam!! The parking lot is quite large since the testing center is located inside a building with several other businesses. My exam was on a Saturday so I knew I wouldn't have any problems finding a spot. The testing center is located on the 2nd floor. There's a waiting area with lockers for your personal belongings, chairs, a coat rack, and water cooler. They will offer you kleenex and ear plugs if you want them. I took some kleenex. I seriously thought I was going to cry or vomit or do both! There are probably about 10 cubicles with computers in the testing room. There were two women working that day and both were super friendly! They totally put me at ease. I am considering taking my other two exams here after graduation. It was such a stress-free experience, minus the actual exam! read more

So I had to go into this Pearson Professional Center facility to take a court reporting exam. The building is very easy to find, conveniently located on the corner of Farnham and Chesapeake Drive. It was 6 o'clock in the evening so parking was not difficult. Upon entering their Suite, 208, I found myself in a comfortable sized lobby outlined by chairs, lockers, a coat rack, and a pleasant looking woman behind a desk. Next thing I know all of a sudden she's asking for two forms of i.d., making me sign this or that, then asking me to sit down to take a photo of me, and get a finger print, then read this, and come back to me. Here's a key to put all your shit in okay take your test good luck. What a rush. I wasn't nervous at all, but some people might be. The whole process is very liquid smooth and they deserve 5 stars for that. You walk over to the testing area and a woman is pervaying a small land of computers and people using said computers through a large glass window, making you feel like a lab rat or something. The testing area is tidy and quiet, aside from people typity-typing away. You are offered ear plugs. And that is all. read more

When it comes to exams that determine the course of your future, one would want the perfect testing environment. No noise, no disruptions, and the temperature just right. With that being said, my already heightened stress levels reached astronomical heights today. In the middle of my exam, employees, or at least one of them and a test taker were having a very loud conversation, complete with laughter and excited tones that reached through the door. People who go here have an appointment to take a test of some sort - for me it was the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) board exam, which would grant me a California MLT license upon passing. VENUE: The building itself is right on the corner of Farnham and Chesapeake. Upon finding parking in any unmarked parking spot, take the elevator located on your left to the 2nd floor. After exiting the elevator, make a right at the hallway and the testing site is located on your right. The testing area itself is divided into three areas: front desk area, the proctor area and the testing site area, which contains two rows of computers. Testing area was clean and quiet. SERVICE: Staff was very professional and friendly. This means a lot, especially if you're already nervous as is taking one of the biggest exams you'll ever take in your life. Upon check-in with a clipboard, the following will happen: 1. You'll be asked to read the rules of the test. 2. Front desk person will check for two forms of ID. Both need signatures one just needs to have a photo. A credit card with a signature on back can serve as a second form of ID. 3. If you haven't tested at the site before, they'll ask you to provide a biometric palm print, which verifies your identity. 4. They'll give you a locker, which will allow you to store any personal belongings. 5. You'll go to the proctor, which will verify your identity with a palm print and escort you to your seat inside the testing area. Another option for testing is the option of wearing earplugs or headphones to make your test as quiet as possible. If needed they'll also give you an erasable pad with marker. Supposedly they provide calculators upon request. My only nitpick about this place was that my marker kept on drying. 2 years from the start of the MLT program and $500+ later, I passed my MLT (if you haven't read already from my previous reviews). So glad to have another chapter in life accomplished. If I'm ever in the SD area should I have the opportunity to take the CLS board exam, I'll take that board exam here. read more

So, you're taking the GMAT soon. You've studied, practiced and repeated, and taken plenty of diagnostic tests. Now it's time to take the damn thing. The GMAT is exclusively offered at Pearson Vue test centers, which are all very similar, and all have very high security, with palm scanners and other strict rules to make sure that you do not cheat or share questions. This particular location in Claremont is very central, and easy to get to from any part of San Diego county. Wear layers in case you get warm or cold, as you won't have any control over the temperature in the room. I'm not exactly a morning person, so I tend to be in the 2 pm crowd, but it's all up to your personal preference. (I've taken the GMAT multiple times, since I'm a professional GMAT tutor. I do so to keep myself sharp and to stay up-to-date with any test changes.) Don't forget to bring an acceptable photo ID, since you will need it at the test center: no ID, no test. When you arrive, the receptionist will give you a locker key and ask you to empty your pockets into the locker. You will keep your ID in your pocket, however, as you will need it to check in and out of the test. Some tips for the actual GMAT: Structure: 1) Analysis of an Argument Essay (30 minutes/1 question), 2) Integrated Reasoning (30 minutes/12 questions), 3) Verbal (41 questions/75 minutes), 4) Quantitative (37 questions/75 minutes). Scoring: 1) Essay 0-6 in half point increments, 2) Integrated Reasoning 1-8, 3) Verbal 0-60, 4) Math 0-60, 5) Composite (total score) 200-800. Data Sufficiency Tips (Math) DS questions can be very tricky at first, until you get the hang of them. Here's how I look at them: A = #1 only is sufficient to answer the question B = #2 only is sufficient to answer the question C = neither #1 nor #2 works by itself, but in combination, they are sufficient to answer the question D = Either #1 or #2 individually is sufficient to answer the question (they both work by themselves, NOT in combination) E = Neither #1 nor #2 is sufficient to answer the question Sometimes I like to think of this as "A, B, BEN." A = A (#1) only B = B (#2) only C = B oth D = E other E = N either Remember to write down your letter answers in two groups: "A/D" and "B/C/E" Shorthand: "works" = is sufficient If #1 works, then the answer must be A or D. If #2 doesn't work, then the answer must be B, C, or E. If #2 works, and #1 also worked, then the answer is D. If #2 works, but #1 did not work, then the answer is B. If #2 does not work, but #1 did work, then the answer is A. If #2 does not work, and #1 didn't work either, then the answer is either C or E. If #s 1 and 2 work when combined, but NOT individually, then the answer is C. If #s 1 and 2 do not work when combined, nor individually, then the answer is E. After the Test is Over When the test ends, you will have the option to either keep or cancel your score. Since it is a computer adaptive test, you will receive your Math and Verbal scores right away (0-60), as well as your composite score (200-800). Unless you feel that you totally bombed your test, I would recommend viewing your score. You may have done better than you thought. I came here to take my EMT National Registry exam... and the place is definitely intimidating at first glance. It's located in a corporate building and the suite itself is pretty cold - resembling a doctor's office more than a testing center. The security measures are ridiculously rigorous... but the staff are very welcoming and did a great job of making me feel less like I was about to be water boarded by Dick Cheney. They took my fingerprint at the front desk - twice. They had me turn my pockets inside out and empty all accessory clothing into a basket which they made me put in a locker. Then they took my picture and had me sign a waiver. So after you pass the front desk they take you to the back where they take more fingerprints and then explain the rules. You're put in a booth to take your computerized test and they're very clear about telling you that you are only to look at your screen. If you need to do so much as take a fart, they need to know. Literally. You raise your hand when you need help, need to piss, or are finished. I suppose it was a good testing environment. It was very quiet and the fact that everyone else isn't taking the same test takes a lot of pressure off of you - especially in regards to timing. Super bonus: My test was FREE! I hate Pearson Vue. They can take your money out of your account in three days, but it takes five weeks and you may or may not receive your money back if you cancel your test. This is not how you do business. I read nothing but problems using their shitty system online, good fucking luck trying to talk to someone calling their 800 number or their 916 number. Big business, shitty service, call centers in India where people are fucking unable to speak the language of English. Literally the worst experience I have had taking any test. This is a very professionally-run facility for the important services they offer folks striving to improve themselves through milestone exams in their lives. A bit hard to find, so I made a test run a month out to have my GPS set -up OK. The Receptionist is a very cordial & efficient lady from Russia who had all my data ready to process me into the testing "chamber". You essentially prove your identity, give a palm print and pass into the care & supervision of the nice, calm test area Proctor. There are maybe 10 PC testing stations, and mine functioned flawlessly through my 4.5 hour exam experience. The only distraction I noted were flight OPs from the nearby Miramar air station, but this was not a big deal (and if it were, they have earmuffs at each PC for total concentration.
