This is where I learned to ski in college and later my kids all learned here in junior high. Steep and deep!! Three lifts, night skiing and that hometown hill feeling. During the normal season they have Ski school for the kids and lessons for adults. They have great rentals package pricing and will always give you a quick fix if things are set just right. The food is more about feeding the masses but no complaints after a morning of thigh burning steep slope action. There is a little bar in the basement or at least there used to be if it's still there. Plenty of advance action for skiers and some lower green action for the rookies. We came up here for a summer evening hike. It was so awesome. No one for miles and just a few bugs. We hiked up to the ridge and sat in the ski lift chair perched at the drop off point. Perfect evening. I say dreamed about owning my own ski hill. Making it vibrant four seasons. Cycling. Music. Food. Views and NO BUGS. LOL. read more

What a treasure! I've long heard of the good skiing at Pebble Creek but it's taken untill now for me to visit. Pebble is a small place with only 3 lifts. One chair services green bunny hill type slopes the other two lead to more advanced terrain. Pebble is one of the few resorts I've been to where there is a larger amount of advanced and blue terrain compared to green runs. All the chairs are fixed grip tripples. If your used to high speed detachable quads this will be quite a change. I rather enjoyed the slower lifts. It gave me time for my legs to rest and check out the amazing views. Speaking of resting, holy cow this place is steep! I found the best terrain to be in the northern section. Get off the lift and head slightly uphill and to the left passing the patrol hut. From there taverse out or just drop in. The "rock" run was especially fun. The lodge was pretty good but extremely slow. A line was stretched to the main doors with people waiting on food. Burgers were being cooked to order. That takes time. The star of the show is supposedly the fries. They are fresh cut and self serve. You get as many as you can fit in the container. Unfortunately they were a little soggy and grease ladden. Prices were cheap compared to resorts in the Wasatch. Lastly after skiing it's nice to be able to have a beer and re live the thrills and spills of the day. Pebble has the rock bottom saloon. The bar is located in the bottom of the lodge near the rentals. It's a beer only place with 5 or 6 types of draft brews and some can and bottle varieties. The bar tender was super friendly. Okay. It's not Vail or Snowbasin but love it!! Smaller mountain and fewer lifts but awesome service. Easy parking. Excellent on site rental. Cafe is simple but food is great and very very reasonable. Stay in Lava Creek at WinZig and 25 min ski here. You will love it and save a fortune. My only recommendation to owners is a firepit outback and a few flatscreens in cafe. read more

Loved, loved, loved this place. I highly recommend spending some time exploring this ski area, especially if you like steep runs and skiing in trees. The area encompasses wonderful old-growth douglas fir tree runs and beautiful glades. I love skiing at Pebble Creek! I have been coming here since I was about 4 years old, and it is a great ski hill. It definitely is not the best, but for the price, it can definitely satisfy the need to ski. There are a variety of hills and runs for skiers and snowboarders of different levels. Depending obviously on the amount of snow, it can be great or it can be icy. The lodge at Pebble is pretty weak however. It is really basic, with a few food options. GO for the fries if you are getting food. The bathrooms are pretty grungy and located in the basement of the lodge. Not the funnest to get to while wearing lots of snow gear. I will say that the ski patrol is good here. Recently my dad was injured while we were skiing and they were very helpful getting him down the hill and helping him. I was really impressed with how kind they were. Overall, if you are near Pebble and like to ski, go check it out! There are lots of opportunities to have fun and amazingly beautiful views! read more

Lots of good terrain for mid to advanced skiiers. Needs a major update: lodge is horrible. Rental equipment is horrible, even by rental equipment standards. They advertise night skiing but it doesn't really exist. They keep about 1000 ft of one beginner trail open. 30 seconds of skiing to wait 20 min on a lift. Lift ticket prices are OK. Rest of the park doesn't have lights. So much potential here but it falls way too short. read more

I grew up learning to ski on this mountain. This is a fun mountain if they have snow. Unfortunately it's stuck in a place where big storms are really hit and miss. Hence the four star rating instead of five. Sometimes they get great snow, other years you will need your rock skis and boards. People will think I'm too generous with even a four star rating since it doesn't have any modernized anemities. Sure, it has a network of only three old, slow lifts, a humble little day lodge with no cozy hotel rooms, fancy restaurants, apres ski or nightlife, but it has a fairly good-sized vertical (2,200 vertical feet), and super challenging terrain. Mind! There is also plenty of terrain for begginers here too. There is an old saying that says: "If you can ski everything at Pebble Creek you can ski anywhere." One ski outing here you are likely to believe that claim. So if you are in southeast Idaho during the winter on a good snow year, come give it a shot! Note: This place has a nickname of "The Rock." read more
