Today, for the first time, I ordered a coffee, and on my way to work, I had to go back because it was cold and didn't taste good. I told the person in charge, and she didn't say a word; she just walked away and gave me a receipt saying they would refund my money. I told her I just wanted a hot coffee that actually tasted like coffee, and she said that's how the machine is and there was nothing she could do. I wouldn't come back, not even for the food. I think I've had enough!

So, I pulled up to the little window, attached to the gas station and gave them a shot. I ordered a Cortado, and two breakfast tacos. The shop closes at 2:30pm, so when I arrived around 12 noon they were complete out of donuts apart from donut holes. They were also out of all of the breakfast tacos apart from the two bacon, egg, and cheese tacos mentioned above. I was a bit surprised and concerned when asked if I would prefer a 12 or 16oz Cortado, but I kept it pushing. While the Cortado was non traditional, it was a welcomed variation, stronger than a latte but far sweeter compared to a flat white or more traditional Cortado. It was moreso a drink of its own. The breakfast tacos were a gift to my husband. He didn't give them great reviews but we figured 1. They'd been sitting for a while before we ever received them and 2. I had to make a few unplanned stops along the way back, which didn't really give them a fair shot. He'll have to try them another day, and if we choose to return we'll definitely plan to do so i the morning to try the item they're named for-donuts!

Unfortunately, the quality and service have gone downhill year after year -- and today was the final straw. This morning, I was the only person in the drive-thru when I arrived. Yet, instead of serving in the order customers show up, the employee at the window repeatedly ignored me and prioritized people who walked in afterward. When I tried to calmly point out that this wasn't right, she shut the window on me mid-sentence -- dismissive, rude, and completely unprofessional. It's not the first time I've had this kind of experience here, and it consistently feels like South Asian customers are treated differently. Whether intentional or not, it's unacceptable behavior -- and it speaks to a deeper problem with how this location operates. I've supported this business for years, but enough is enough. I won't be returning until there's a clear change in staff and accountability from management. I hope others in our Riverstone community who value respect, fairness, and good service will also stand together and boycott this place until it improves. Principles matter more than convenience.

In my search for a local, non-franchise donut shop, I visited Billy's donuts. Upon entering the…read moredonut shop I was greeted by a very kind old Asian man. He spoke to me in Chinese and asked me what I liked and gave recommendations about his offerings. What stood out to me were the Boudin kolache and bacon and sausage kolaches. The bread here around the fillings is very airy and fluffy and subtly sweet-- exactly what you want in a kolache. The fillings of most kolaches come in both mild and spicy versions. I recommend the spicy of every kolache as the spice is not too unbearable. The donut that I had was not the best blueberry cake doughnut I've ever had. It had a bit of a off or old oil taste that I noticed while I was eating the doughnut. On top of that, the blueberry flavor was not that pronounced. What I did like about the donut is that it had great texture-- was crispy on the outside while still remaining fluffy and light on the inside. The donut holes were by far my favorite thing. They were light and perfectly not too sweet. I could literally eat a dozen or two of these at a time. While the shop itself is not the most clean, this can be forgiven as you can tell that it is aone-man operation. I will certainly be back and I look forward to trying more of his spicy and mild kolache and his good variety of donuts.
