I have never liked dentists and have avoided them for as long as possible. I had a tooth break on the side and went to some chain a few years ago. The guy there said I needed a crown so he did it. It started feeling odd 6-9 months later and eventually the crown fell off. My wife and daughter had used Dr. Smith and liked him, so fearful as I was, I went. Nice guy. He outlined a whole series of things I needed. Unfortunately, the work of the other dentist led to the infection death of a second tooth, so both had to come out. And he identified another tooth that needed to come out and be replaced with an implant and crown. This journey began Oct-Nov 2022. He had to place an implant then let it heal before he could add the crown. Feb-Mar 2023 he added the crown. Let me interject that this journey included 6-8 office visits. There was regularly a disparity between what the dentist told me and what the front desk said. In reviewing the expense plan, the front desk failed to include all of the work the doctor had explained, although they had the notes in the computer in front of them and I had my memory. This resulted in a conflict later when they eventually added those costs to the billing that they hadn't reviewed with me. They also sold me "insurance" for some of the work without explaining what they had done or me signing for it. Only when they realized they were missing the authorization did they try to get me to sign for it. Then they told me they had already charged me for it. At the end of August, less than 6 months later, I was eating some air popped popcorn and my tooth felt weird. Over the next 24 hours, it was noticeably loose. I called on a Friday and got no answer. I love it when dentists become sufficiently wealthy they can work four days a week in their 40's. So Monday I call and get in. Turns out, I'm the 5th patient to have this particular crown loosen up. And the reason given was that the lab used counterfeit components for the crown. I spent a long time waiting in the chair while allegedly someone was negotiating with the crooked lab company. I didn't care who ate the cost of fixing it. I I just knew that it wasn't going to be me. Eventually, they did the scans to recreate the crown. The delay was because the scans go directly to the crooked lab company and he wanted to make sure they had an agreed upon path to resolution. So, they set an appointment for three weeks later to place the new crown. Over the past week, I've received at least half a dozen messages and notes to announce, confirm, and remind me of the appointment for 10am this morning. So I make sure the set my alarm, get up, have breakfast, go to the bathroom so there's no discomfort, shower and shave and head down to be there a little early as I always do. I checked in and waited a full half hour after my scheduled time to be called back. I'm not even allowed to sit because it turns out there was no reason to. When we get back to the room at the far end of the building, the assistant said I was there to have the crown placed (which I clearly knew), but then said it hadn't come in yet and they would let me know when it does. WHAT KIND OF PSYCHO, LUNATIC OFFICE DOES THAT??? I was very, very angry. I don't know what my next steps are. read more

I was cheated out 400s at appt I attended and because I chose to discontinue services I was then told the time allocated for the service is valued at 400$ which was a deposit. I found a dentist at Arlington Bright Smiles, Dr. Peterson that is in network, truthful about diagnosis of work needed and cheaper. I lost a son drowning may 2023, widowed and been mistreated by dentists with fraudulent work that cause the insurance to go after them in the past so why would I expect anything different huh? I didn't cancel, I went to appointment and explained the change of providers n why which I stated above 2weeks later and I still have not received my 400s. Had I missed my appointment than I would been charged a late fee. Instead I did the honest and right thing. I went to appointment, disclosed how they didn't say they was out network and that's why I was invoiced to pay for fill in for cavities that my insurance covered and that the diagnosis to redo 2crowns for decay was false from another opinion. I expressed feeling uncomfortable relayg the cause but didn't want to allow another dentist to perform work on me based on what they want and not what I want and best for me. Can anyone advise who to complain to and what channels can I go about to get my deposit. They had the audacity since to send certified letter for postal pick up termination of services when I'm the one who discontinued that day. I'm hurt and monies have been stolen from me. read more

Went to this dentist for years. Was ok with the very first visit I had after years of not going to the dentist and having to pay out of pocket for a deep cleaning- totally understandable. After that, I got my regular cleanings. The time between 'a' cleaning and my last visit was not long, but they again insisted on the deep cleaning that my insurance only covers part of so I would be out of pocket AGAIN, this time, not in a position to pay for that. So I was unable to get a cleaning. I explained I pay hundreds of dollars monthly for my sons disease. RX, PT, OT, specialist visits, plus his normal medical visits- and that I could not afford anything over what my insurance pays- I JUST want a regular cleaning I pay for thru my insurance. Zero compassion, zero heart, told me to apply for Care Credit, as if I don't already have hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills for my child. This is been quite a while since this last incident. But I NEED to be seen. So, I reached out again, hoping for a change, a little compassion. Nope. Had a tooth ache and was recommended to them. I went in and they wanted to charge me 8K worth of work done in my teeth! They said I NEEDED four GOLD crowns! I was in shocked because I know my teeth aren't that bad and GOLD crowns??? What??? That was also my out of pocket cost, NOT including insurance . I went to two different dentist for a second opinion and they both said there is no way I need that much work done and definitely NOT four GOLD crowns! Made me think this dentist is just ripping me off. So if you're thinking of getting any work done here I would definitely get a second opinion. I went to this dentistry for over 3 1/2 years. I used to love coming but I noticed everytime I had something beyond a cleaning I was referring out, I needed a root canal even though I was going to the dentist every 3 months like clock and Dr. Jackie claimed it was so bad that I needed a specialist. The purpose of going to the dentist is make sure small problems don't become large. I went in December of 2019 to the specialist and I had to call them in February 2020 to ask if my crown was ready. Then Covid came and also they never called to update me that me crown was $338 not $58 that I already paid. They should have known my co-pay in February 2020. I like doctor Quinn but some of staff not so much. They are not on their game. They wanted to get a implant instead of a filling on a tooth.I asked for a call back several over the 4 months from the owner no call back. read more

I go to the dentist every 6 months like clock work. I floss regularly and brush. I went for a visit and had some sensitivity. Dr Quinn informed me I needed 6 fillings. I agreed. Had those done the next week & my mouth has never been the same. TONS of pain, post fillings. I went back in THREE times to have the problem remediated. I was told "this shouldn't happen it's a simple procedure" then also told "well if you need a root canal your a special case Bc your root is so small". ??? They give you some "guarantee" paperwork for each of your fillings- but yet none of my filling pain was ever fixed. I went back to my old dentist- who is a bit of a drive away. He said I now have 3 cracked teeth- because of WIDE FILLINGS. I now need 3 crowns and one possible root canal. All done on teeth I'm not even sure needed that much work to begin with. I was so upset, not alone the money, but I haven't been able to chew on the left side of my mouth for 2 months now Bc of their work. My husband called to speak to a manager. She called us back, that day, at almost 8pm. We asked what was going to be done to remedy the situation. She said she would call us back & never did. I've spent 1k there (yes I have insurance) out of pocket & all I got was pain and cracked teeth. Now I have to go and pay an additional 1k to get crowns and root canal all from Dr Quinn's work!!!! Their staff is friendly & so is Dr Quinn, but I would never recommend them to anyone. I have never had an experience like this. I am 36 years young and now my mouth feels like that of a old woman. I had bridge work done back in 2017 and when it fell off 4 months later had to go back to have them fix it. They charged me to fix the issue when it was still under guarantee. I've talked to them about the issue and they still insisted that I owe them. I call that bad business. read more

This dental office is the best I've ever experienced. The second you walk in all the ladies make you feel so welcomed. And then all the hygienists and dentists are very professional with a perfect dash of personality. Then add in the TVs that hang down so you can watch while being worked on, amazing. I can't say enough good things. Took care of all my cavities and got me back on track. I was very sad to have to move away and find another dentist that doesn't even compare. The people are very nice. However, I will never go back. I went in for a broken retainer, and they wanted to do 2 fillings that day too. They told me with my insurance I'd have to pay $129 total. They didn't say that's an estimate; they said I'd pay that that day and that would be it. I agreed to have all the services because that was the TOTAL -- or so they said. When we got the bill from insurance, they weren't covering $170 of the $600 something. The dentist sent me a bill for $40.50 of that $170 (and may send more, I'm not sure). I understand insurance is like this, but the problem I have is that they told me it was that much--total-- while trying to convince me to have the stuff done (AFTER running my insurance to figure out the total), then bombarded us with extra bills. When I called, they basically told me tough luck -- "it was an estimate" all along. I'd rather do business with someone who's going to be honest with me upfront, not tell me that's the total then after I've had the service done hit me with bills because they can't figure it out with the insurance company. The customer is the one stuck in the middle here who has to cover the difference. They may get their $40 but they'll never get our business again. Updated: Talk about oblivious! While I'm still in the process of disputing the bill from August 4, they call to tell me I'm "six weeks overdue for my recall appointment." So I call back to see what that is, and it's just the normal cleaning/x-rays. Read the room! Make some notes that a Customer is still upset about a prior bill before calling to try to get her to make ANOTHER appointment. Yeah right. read more

Myself and my wife recently became patients at Pecan Tree Dental. Dr. Quinn and staff provide exceptional customer service and quality dental services. I recently had a wisdom tooth extracted and was charged $56 for a take home post extraction medication (SockIt) that I didn't need. I barely used the medication. If given the choice I would have declined the medication and saved $56. Being charged $56 for a medication I didnt need and wasnt given the option to decline really rubbed me the wrong way. I brought my concern to the attention of office manager, the only action taken was my account was noted for future visits. In my opinion this did not rectify the matter. If not for this incident I would have rated Pecan Tree Dental a five and been a patient for life, I'm not so sure now. read more

I visited this office twice after it was recommended to us by a family friend. My first visit was great! I really liked the text messages to remind me of my appointment. There are flat screen televisions over every exam chair, so you can watch TV as you are getting your teeth cleaned. My cleaning went very well, and my hygienist was very gentle. The customer service was great. Everyone was very friendly. My x-rays and exam revealed what I already knew...I needed some work done. I had a chipped tooth, and I needed a root canal. My second visit was absolutely horrible! I went in for my root canal, and as soon as the drilling started, I let Dr. Sanders (I never saw Dr. Quinn) know that I could still feel pain. She gave me some more injections and continued drilling again right away. I just wanted it to stop! I have a very high pain tolerance, but this was unbearable. I just tried to get through it, but then she told me that she would be unable to finish it because of a layer of bone that was in the way of the canals. She put a temporary filling on my tooth and told me I would need to go to an endodontist. Upon checkout, I was given the names of two specialists. I was not offered a prescription for any pain medicine, and I never received the prescription for the antibiotics that were supposed to be prescribed for me on my first visit. I went to another dentist for a second opinion. I had gone to Dr. Neal Patel in Irving for my first root canal about 9 years ago. I felt nothing; it was wonderful. I decided to try Dr. Patel again, but he was no longer in Irving. I had to drive 40 miles to Dental Depot in Highland Village, but I would have driven even further. He was able to do the root canal on my tooth today. I felt nothing; it was wonderful. I didn't need to go to a specialist; I just needed to go to a good dentist. I give 2 stars for professionalism because the proper expectation wasn't set when I scheduled my appointment. Over all I give them a 3 star. Facility lovely. Staff pleasant. My problem is with how things are done. I called bc I had a broke tooth or my filling came out. Asked for an appt to get this fixed. They scheduled me same day. I was very grateful! X-ray was done. Dentist came in greeted me, reported problem and the fix (a filling), then left. Assistant told me cost and asked if I wanted to have the work done today. I was perplexed for a moment then thought she's asking because of the cost. I said yes to getting filling today...then she apologized...don't have time to today. I was scheduled to have the tooth looked at not fixed bc they don't know what needs to be done. Now, I'm dissatisfied! My whole point for cancelling my morning plan was to have my tooth fixed not to have a 2 minute interaction with the dentist and her to say what was needed and and me be dismissed to be seen another day! I hope to be able to increase this number after further dealings with them. read more

Highly dissatisfied with this dental's company's administrative practices. Received a mailer in the mail for free cleaning. I later discovered they were not willing to honor, saying I needed a deeper cleaning. So I had to pay out of pocket. Furthermore, I found out just today, several years later, they put me in collections for a balance that the insurance company stated they billed far past what was allocated under standard fees in network. So they billed roughly $100 on top of making me pay out of pocket for something they said would be free, just to get new customers in their office. Now I have to deal with inaccuracies in perfect credit and they would do anything to help other than just say call the collection company because they have nothing to do with it. Only reason they have two stars is because I didn't have any problem with the work. Billing prices greatly disappointed in. BUYER BEWARE! read more

This place really is an exceptional dentist office. Dr. Quinn and all of the staff are super professional and really genuinely nice. They also offer a dental plan for patients who don't have any insurance. It's $155 for the year and covers exams, x-rays, and two cleanings twice a year. It also gives you a percentage off if you need any kind of treatment. I think it's really great that they offer that. Very nice place!! read more

I love the dentist as well as the dental assistants; however, I dislike the fact that one of the front desk staff members are extremely rude. The tone of her voice and the way in which she addresses things are condescending and extremely unpleasant. I waited for over five minutes upon arrival for my appointment as she laughed and talked to another patient. I politely smiled and stated that I was here for my appointment so I would not remain standing as if I am a lost soul. She yelled and told me to have a seat for she is talking with someone. Lol. Customer service is key. The other young lady at front desk is extremely professional at all times. The rude one even pretended to not know how to pronounce my name. A professional statement would have been:" Please pronounce your name for me". Instead she just said "you have an appointment tomorrow . I do not know how to say your name". She laughs. And there is a long silence. I plainly just asked her the time of my appointment ending with a thankyou and quick disconnect from the call. She is not a good representation of Pecan Tree Dental. Too many terrible days for her; therefore expelling negative energy in this place. read more

I had been to Pecan Tree dental for a regular cleaning and a filling. A week ago, my husband had an accident and needed emergency dental care. I called and left a voicemail telling them that I was a current client and told them my husbands condition. The emergency voicemail says that they will be periodically checking that line. It has been a week and no one has called us. I will never be going back to this office. read more
