Sweet little breakfast stop. Very busy and kinda pricy but I say worth the wait and decent food. Peck 47 is tucked between a wide street in the less bustling area of the city. But its a good find. We waited almost an hour for a party of 6 to sit in their outdoor area. When we finally got seated, service was proper and prompt. Our server did speak english and was able to give us some recommendations and pointers. I ordered the drunken sailor which is essentially lox and eggs benedict. Fresh cured salmon, perfectly poached eggs, that sit on these delicious leek waffles. The portions aren't huge but it leaves you satisfied. If not, do as I did and order some cake. The carrot cake was pretty good with a cup of coffee. If you're in need of a proper breakfast that will leave you satisfied, go to Peck 47. read more

This brunch place is on a wide street with many other restaurants of all types. We went here because of the good yelp reviews, my friends and I ordered the eggs benedict with bacon, jimmy churri, and the cubano sandwich. Benedict comes with a side salad, the sandwiches came with a small serving of their soup of the day. My jimmy churri was argentinian beef with tomato, lettuc, and chimi churri sauce. The sauce was too strong for my liking, it tasted too green, like raw kale, meat was cooked perfectly and very tender. The soup was refreshing and light. I would return if I am ever in the area and was craving brunch, its a short walk from mannequin pis and the grand palace! I've had my fair share, but these would have to be neck and neck with some of the best! Although I have to say my husband makes the best eggs Benedict sooooo I can't let this one top his! The eggs are prepared perfectly, the sauce compliments the entire meal. The bacon is perfectly cooked, not too crispy, just right so it's still easy to cut with a fork. The portion is just right for one person, and if you get a coffee or juice it would be a very nice complete meal. I would try their fresh juices, they are made in house. I did order a cabbage apple cinnamon, but they dropped off a carrot ginger something. But whatever , a juice is a juice to me so I didn't fret, I got my veggies in! We came here on a Sunday morning around 11am for brunch. The restaurant itself if a small space so there was a line outside but it moved pretty quickly. We were seated for 4 in about 20 minutes. I had the cheesy waffle which was a leek waffle with cheddar, poached egg and a psycho sauce with a side salad. It was amazing! If you like a little spice, you will not be disappointed with the psycho sauce. We even asked for a side of more. The waffle itself was savory and delicious. The service was fast and friendly. We stopped here for brunch based on the reviews and when we arrived it looked great but was average. The service was good, seated straight away, orders taken and food came soon after. I had the lemonade which was refreshing but lacked taste and it carried on to the peck special which was eggs and bacon on a waffle-it was good but nothing special. After reading all these amazing reviews on Yelp, I had to come try this cute little brunch spot! I went on a Thursday morning at around 9am, and the place was empty. There was just a couple of staff there who seemed nice but still sleepy. I got the cheesy waffle. It's essentially their take on an eggs benedict, but served on tasty flat, doughy waffles instead of an English muffin. My eggs were perfectly poached and the psycho sauce (some sort of creamy sriracha mixture) was delicious. I also ordered the "Green" juice which was spinach, celery, and pear. It was so refreshing! Definitely one of the better green juices I've had. The tap water given was also infused with basil which was really nice. My only complaint is the atmosphere. I may have come here during a funny time -- it was weirdly quiet with no music playing. I took a seat by the front of the restaurant and I counted at least 4 different flies flying around the tables at one point. I also felt the flies landing on my leg while I was trying to enjoy my breakfast and was consistently trying to swat them away. While I really enjoyed the food and the vibe of Peck 47, I can't say I enjoyed my experience there on a weekday morning. I will spare Yelpers from the bug photos I took in the restaurant. My Belgium-a-palooza was centered around brewery visits and drinking beer I can't find anywhere else in the world, so breakfast literally was the most important meal of the day during my week-long stay in Brussels. My biggest faux-pas perhaps was not doing enough research regarding Belgian breakfast and restaurants that cook up meals that are somewhat stylized to what we in the states expect to be served before noon, to which I shamefully came up short after about three venues. Fortunately, Peck 47 was there for my rescue. I seldomly visit the same restaurant twice in a single visit, especially in a city where there's so much to see and eat even during a seven day period. I also seldomly encounter New American brunch-style breakfasts that actually taste like a proper New American breakfast outside of the states. Hence the anomaly. At my first visit I tried the homemade lavender granola and yogurt (which incidentally is my favorite breakfast at home, minus the lavender) and the Eggs Benedict Hemingway (salmon, poached eggs) both of which got me through a three-hour drinking session at Brasserie Cantillon, and later a two-hour session at Brussels Beer Project. The second visit was on my last day in Brussels, and I tried what I thought was the best waffle I had during my visit to Belgium (blasphemous, I know.); the Drunken Sailor (poached eggs, salmon... see a pattern?) got me through a four-hour drinking session later that day also at Cantillon, and two train beers while jettisoning myself to Amsterdam Schiphol. Personal anecdotes aside, the food, service, and even the prices at Peck 47 are impeccable; they do have an all-day breakfast menu, a lunch menu that I failed to explore because I was busy out drinking everyday, and also a selection of beers if you want to get your day started the right way. The only downside to Peck 47 is that it's literally 4 minutes away from 2 of Brussels' best coffee spots; would be nice if I could get some OR Espresso actually served to me with my meals from Peck 47. Best brunch spot in Brussels, hands down. The locals flock here, and naturally tourists with their Yelp apps (like me) will eventually find this gem as well. First things first - the vibe is on point, with upbeat music to match the busy but friendly attitudes that this place is known for. This place is an all day brunch place with amazing options. We came here twice on our trip to Brussels and tried all the eggs benedict options and were quite pleased. I particularly enjoyed the option with the psycho sauce - now that is crack sauce! So good. All of their juices are tasty, my favorite being the one with watermelon. Stopped in here while wandering around Brussels near the square. To be honest I was dying for some protein and I saw poached eggs on the menu (my favorite!!!) so I decided to try it. Upon perusing the menu I immediately decided on the chorizo and goat cheese waffles with poached eggs, bacon, and a spicy house sauce. It came with a simple arugula salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I ordered water to drink and was surprised with a pretty glass bottle filled with mint to lightly flavor the water. The waffle dish was incredible. The eggs were perfectly poached and the sauce was spicy enough to perfectly complement the waffles. Two of the staff asked if I liked it and then it turned out I was the first to try the dish. I wanted to eat a salad because all I ate the past eight hours in Brussels were Belgian frites and chocolate (not kidding). Peck 47 is a very quaint, cute cafe for brunch (all day breakfast/brunch). Inside, you'll see two talking rabbits on one wall, and abstract paintings on the opposite wall. The tables are all close together, but it's not a loud atmosphere. I ordered the Merry Cured salad with beets, walnuts, smoked salmon, and toast. Service was quick, and it was pretty busy even for an early dinner. Unfortunately, I don't think beets should be the star of any salad. Halfway through my meal, I realized there would be no way that I could eat another beet. The salmon was very good, fresh, plump, and well-portioned (unlike most American salads), and the nuttiness of the walnuts complemented the fatty fish. The toasted bread was hearty and slightly sweet, and I chose to finish that off instead of the beets. The menu reminds me of classic American/Californian brunch options with locally sourced ingredients (They have a Kevin Bacon sandwich and New Orleans wrap). When in Belgium, what do you eat?! Of course it's their famous Belgian waffles!! Now what is so special about Belgian waffles? Or specifically Brussels waffles, where it originated? Prepared with both egg-white-leavened and yeast-leavened batter, the waffles produced are more light and crispy. Their square pockets are also bigger compared to American waffles. In Brussels, Belgium, I discovered the city's favorite little breakfast and brunch cafe that serves the best Brussels waffles apparently. Called Peck 47. The name doesn't call out for much and doesn't even foreshadow the amazing brunch foods that they serve. I actually don't even know the history of this cafe other than the cafe itself is so cute and adorably decorated! You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors. Sitting outdoors on the street sidewalks, basking in the sun, eating a good waffle-y breakfast, and enjoying conversations about catching Pokemon with your new waffle-loving neighbors is the best Belgian experience I could have asked for! 2 Bloody Mary's (homemade cayenne pepper tomato purée, tomato juice, bloody spice, and vodka), Mimosa (freshly squeezed orange juice and Prosecco), and Breakfast Smoothie (Greek yogurt, homemade granola, banana, and honey drizzle) - The Bloody Mary's were pretty decent with a good amount of pulp. Simple Bloody Mary though. The Mimosa was perfect for me! Personally when I drink mimosas, I like a 70/30 ratio of orange juice to champagne.. Defeats the purpose right? But I hate the taste of alcohol! This was made super sweet but still gave me a good buzz so I'm not sure if it's weak or the oranges used were super sweet! Plenty of orange pulp too though! soup of the day (cream of broccoli and Parmesan cheese) - This soup was very creamy and mild! There weren't that many flavors and I could hardly taste any cheese Sadness! The broccoli was blended really well so there wasn't much texture into eating this soup for me. I personally like bits of broccoli in my soup! The nutty bread gave it more sustenance when used to eat with though! Peck's special (homemade chorizo and goat cheese waffle, two poached eggs, bacon and psycho sauce) - This was so good. Now let me tell you.. If you can tell from the picture at all, the waffles are super thin. Very thin. And they are soft! Lightly, lightly crispy on the outside and super soft. Soft, thin waffles. I LOVE IT. This type of texture makes waffles very easy to eat! I am already in love. Belgian waffles over American waffles!! Furthermore, their waffles aren't made plain! There are tiny, tiny flakes of chorizo and goat cheese flavors hidden within the waffles themselves. The thing with Belgian waffles is that you can eat them completely naked. They don't need extra toppings or sauces added in. They taste good by themselves!! The poached eggs were a bit too overcooked, but the yolks were still soft. The crispy bacon was savory and crunchy.. And the psycho sauce?! What is in this sauce! My guess: their famous Belgian sweet mayo sauce and chili sauce. Delicious. And I was still hungry for more. The Drunken Sailor (homemade greens waffle with two poached eggs on house marinated salmon & psycho sauce) - And this is fit for a drunken sailor with food munchies! These waffles had little green onions or some kind of green vegetable flakes in the waffles themselves!!! Tasted like healthy waffles! Is there such thing?! The salmon tasted smokey and they were pretty generous with the amount too! Altogether, the sauce, waffles and salmon made a perfect chewy combination in my mouth. I wish I could eat here everyday. I love Belgian waffles. So much more than American waffles. The fact that they are cooked with both types of leavened batter gives it this perfect thin, soft, chewy texture that's hard to beat.. Let alone the added toppings within the waffles themselves!! This place popped up quite a bit while we were Yelping our way through Brussels, so on our last day, we decided to check it out for brunch! Waffles are obviously a thing in Belgium and I was getting a little tired of the sweet variations, so going here was a breath of fresh air! The place is a little on the smaller side and there's really no space to wait inside, so you stand in a line (pretty short when we were there) right outside the door until a table clears up. As soon as one was open for us, we were quickly seated and given menus. I did go through the menu quite a bit, but the Peck Special caught my eye and that's what I ended up getting. My friend got the same thing. I also ordered a golden latte. I always loved turmeric milk as a kid and even though golden lattes are so popular now, I had never tried one - this one was pretty darn good! The peck special was also so delicious and so filling. One of my other favorite things about this place is that they have fruit juice cocktails. I didn't end up getting one, but my friend did and it looked delicious. Yesterday I enjoyed "Lunch Peck 2" there: a French (white) bread sandwich with "spicy salami, pecorino, sun blushed tomatoes and homemade pesto". It was a very nice filling, but when it says "spicy", I expect a bit more spiciness. It would also have been nice to have the option to choose another -- more flavourful -- kind of bread. My sandwich was served with a little glass of soup, which was a nice touch. I had coffee there before, and it wasn't particularly great -- there are better places for a great espresso in the neighbourhood -- so I had one of the organic lemonades to go with my sandwich. They have a nice selection of beers and teas as well. I will be back to try some other menu items, and if they expand their bread options and improve their coffee, they might get an extra star! read more

The place has more of a stop-in diner feel than sit-in cafe although they play good music, serve at the table, offer wifi, and have a couch at the front. Place seems very veggie friendly. We stopped in here for early brunch on a Monday, and got the cozy bench seat right at the front window. Best seat in the house! We ordered the Peck's Special and the Peck's Vegetarian Special, which were basically savoury waffle benedicts. The version with meat was definitely better. The richness of the waffle, hollandaise and egg really needed that bit of saltiness from the chorizo to cut through it all. The vegetarian version, with spinach and mushrooms, really needed something. I also thought the vegetarian waffle tasted quite strongly of baking soda, which was a bit off-putting for me. The highlight is the selection of teas they have on the menu. I love my morning coffee, but more than that, I love having options. Peck has dozens of teas on the menu, with plenty of non-caffeinated options as well. I went with the "detoxifying" green tea... I don't know why other places haven't ripped off this concept, because let me tell you, it's really good. My green waffle was a lovely savoury compliment to the egg and mushrooms, really complex flavours. The kitchen is open; which is nice to see how the food is prepared, and less nice because sometimes that noisy that we had difficulties understanding each other. In a five-day stay in Brussels for our honeymoon, we frequented this place twice for breakfast. The first time was on a quiet Friday morning before 11am, and we were only the third and fourth patrons in the place. The drinks were delicious and expertly made (we had espresso-based coffee drinks), the staff was super friendly and happy to accommodate English speakers, and our meals were served piping hot. My husband got the Peck's Special, which is a little on the spicy side and a twist on eggs Benedict, and I got the traditional eggs Benedict. We were each immensely satisfied with what we ordered--inexpensive breakfast is not all too easy to find. Also? They give you jars of tap water for the table, not a standard in western Europe (at least Belgium and France). On a beautiful and busy Saturday morning, we went in at 11:15 before it got really crowded (which didn't take too long), again were met with a friendly waitress (perhaps the owner) who was all too happy to converse in English with us, ordered our drinks, and quickly got in our food order. Forty-five minutes later, our drinks completely vanquished, the food finally came out. The waitress apologetically told us that our food was worth the wait (we both got the Peck's Special) and as we began to dig in, we were really disappointed to find that every single item on our plates was lukewarm going on cold. They were so in the weeds that even when the orders were finally up, there was only one person to run between the kitchen and all the patrons, which included the outdoor cafe area. That said, my husband remarked on the lukewarm food at checkout and they comped our coffee drinks. (The basil smoothie is VERY good.) They are really friendly and their teensy kitchen puts out usually delicious food. It's also reasonably priced. If you happen to see this place packed to the gills, I'd advise sidestepping it and going at a quieter time, because the food and beverages really are top notch, generally speaking. read more

Quick review: Peck 47 is a small venue (30ish seating) right near Grand Place. I had Poached Eggs on a waffle (Pecks special) and a cappuccino. Both were fantastic. The vibe is laid back, so it's easy to escape the hustle and bustle and simply have a nice meal and conversation with friends. More in-depth points. My normal response to restaurants in touristy areas is "stay away". I travel to Brussels from the US and generally even the tourist food is pretty good, but this place is special in that it offers non-traditional (IE not muscles, fish, etc) and hand prepared food. The poached eggs I got were cooked to a perfect medium (some runny yoke, some cooked), which is no small feat. Also, the kitchen is a small place in the back of the dining area. I like that food prep is visible to the eye. As a pure editorial, visible food prep generally drives more accountability. All the other patrons were enjoying the food, and half seemed to be there for cake and cafe. Between the food and ambience, I left with a great taste in my mouth. read more

I would order this every time I come here. The waffle isnt over sweet and works well as a base for the eggs and the psycho sauce brings it together really well. Their coffee is good as well, my friend got the basil smoothie and found it a little sour but had an interesting taste. I also tried the cajun chicken panini and loved that as well. there is a lady server there who is really friendly and helpful, good with understanding your request and speaks english as well. I needed coffee for friends who were coming, she said she would make it just before they arrived, and she did without needing to be reminded so they got hot coffee. my favorite thing about the place was the decor- very cute, whimsical and bright. Another organic cafe that I would walk past multiple times but only managed to actually pay it a visit on my last day in Brussels (I was meaning to do so but it was only as we were leaving that I made the executive decision to sit down here and have something to drink - which ended up being the freshly squeezed orange juice). Anyway, it's a nice place and the staff are pretty friendly, though I wouldn't go as far as calling it a pub, it's not really one of those cafes but rather a small organic restaurant and sandwich bar. Hands down one of the best brunch places I've ever been to. Walked by the restaurant and saw through the window amazing eggs Benedict dishes and knew I had to stop in. Ordered the traditional house eggs Benedict with salmon and was not disappointed. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the salmon was incredibly flavorful. The arugula on the side was a perfect complement. As was the mimosa :) Next time would definitely try one of the Benedicts that are served on the Belgian waffle! read more

So went here for coffee and cake after eating at Bia Mara and discovered its owned by the same guys. I got the hot chocolate and the blokes I was with got coffees and the special dessert of the day which was like a Blondie (layer of chocolate on bottom and a cookie like dough on top) I took a bite of the Brookie (brownie-cookie) and it was delish. We were here on a Friday night and there was a house DJ spinning so the place for sure has Brooklyn hipster vibes going on. The loss of a star is because the couch near the window is total false advertising! It looks super comfy but the springs are all gone, so hope they replace it soon cause it useless on its current stage. Plan to be back however to try out some of the other menu items. read more

This place is so good we've been twice during our stay in Brussels! The Pecks Special is absolutely delicious as well as the wraps they offer! My boyfriend got the eggs benedict both times because he enjoyed it that much! The hot drinks selection is lovely, one of the best lattes I've ever drank! I'm also recommending trying their pressed juices too, they were so so nice! Everything is focused on being eco friendly from metal straws to napkins made of recycled materials. A must visit place for breakfast/lunch if you're staying in Brussels. read more

WOWOW, I can honestly say I've never had brunch food like this before -- anywhere. The peck's special was absolutely delicious. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to make a waffle with goat cheese and chorizo, but it was AMAZING!! My tastes buds were extremely happy. The eggs on top were perfectly poached, and I'm really glad there was a side salad (drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette) to balance out the entree. The menu is kind of limited but not really, with slight variances in the waffle/Benedicts, as well as salad and sandwich sections. The latte was also much larger than the servings they give you elsewhere. The restaurant itself is darling, and the presentation of the drinks and food only makes the food look better (still on par with the taste). Service is not bad, considering it's Europe. You pay up at the counter, so don't end up sitting for awhile wondering why they haven't given you the check! :-) read more
