Lee was professional, knowledgeable, and responsive throughout the entire process. He also provided his direct contact information so I could reach him if additional assistance was needed, which was greatly appreciated. PECO is the UN-company: Unfair, Unreasonable and Unresponsive and should change their corp name to The Un-service Co. We are on PECO's auto payment program and unfortunately we just reviewed the Feb to March 2026. statement. (See attached bar chart of kwhr power consumption). Note that PECO billed us for consuming an additional 500 kwhr more than my Feb 2025 bill. Also note that many months our total household power consumption is around 500 kwhr. We have propane gas heat and propane cloths dryer and our only electrical appliance is an electric oven-range. How can we use more power in Feb than during the summer months when we use our air. conditioner? We called customer service PECO three.-(3) different times to file a complaint and obtain additional information. Terrible. Ignoring my apartment buildings outage reports for over 3 days. No updates or anything.

PECO consistently overcharges and implements surge pricing during the hottest and coldest months. This is bad enough, but when you factor in how terrible their uptime is for their service is, it actually gets worse! Hey PECO, how about you starting burying lines that are near forested areas? Or do you prefer to have to send crews out for weekly maintenances? There cannot be any way that the cost of burying lines is somehow more than the amount of outages your crews have to repair on the above ground lines. Short term cost, long term gain, happier customers. Seems simple enough. For families in the Philly area, good luck regulating your house's temperature for your kids with PECO, they are going to take a king's ransom each month. That's when your power is actually on, which is not as much of a given as you'd hope. Get a generator if you can, they are far more reliable than PECO. read more

PECO customer service is the worst. I have contacted them about four times in the last 30 years. One item they never responded after multiple attempts. One time they came and said it was my problem. Most recently I had to send three emails, when they finally replied - guess what? My problem. PECO installed the equipment, created the problem but now that it needs maintenance it's not surprisingly my problem. Honestly, they suck. read more

Power could be out due to problems on their end and they would not credit you, they are quick to send service disconnection messages even if your only 2-3 weeks late. I've been waiting on hold for Peco to sign up for new service for over 50 minutes. Not only that but it does not have the address of my building, a building with over 220 apartments in the system for me to sign up online. Peco has the WORST customer service I've ever seen. As soon as I finally get to sign up and move in I will be moving the supplier of my utilities to another business. I wish I could drop Peco completely but they have to deliver the energy. If I could give zero stars I would. This company desperately needs organization and trained employees. Bill amounts are NEVER the same and every time I call regards to the bill or an outage, the representatives all say DIFFERENT THINGS! one rep would give an "amount due" for power to be cut back on and then a new monthly. But then next day your power turns back off and you speak with a new rep and they say there's ANOTHER AMOUNT DUE! Make it make sense. Worst company ever. Terrible service...without electricity for over 11 hours and still no resolution, remote reset takes 4-62 hours, absolutely unacceptable

PECO's long-weak service has deteriorated to "terrible." Most recently, they insisted on charging me a deposit when I moved to a new address. Even though I keep the same account I've had for twenty years. If you are patient enough to eventually reach a human being, all they do is read the "policy" to you. They don't acknowledge that the actual circumstances are directly contrary to the part of the "policy" they're quoting. They know that people don't have much choice, so they just rob them without hesitation. One thing you CAN do to fight back a little bit is to choose a different power supplier than PECO. Any other option. It moves a few bucks away from PECO and to whatever utility supplier you choose. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I waited 25 minutes to speak to someone then when I explained my situation, the rep said 'I'm confused". When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she hung up. So. I went to the PECO building to speak to a person and they are closed to the public. There is a guy outside with flyers giving the phone number I just called. After reading the other reviews here, I am pretty sure you are aware of how bad your customer service is. A TEN MINUTE JOB TOOK THEM TWO DAYS TO COMPLETE, so I'm still going to add mine to it. There was a gas leak, PGW came out, the Fire Department came out, and then Peco came out and took the meters off my house and the neighbors house. PGW fixed the problem, it took them a couple of hours. PGW said it was okay to turn the power back on and the Fire Department gave the okay for power to be back on at around 2pm. Peco was contacted by me, my neighbor and PGW, multiple times. Said that someone would come out to turn the power back on. Got a text saying they would be there by 7:30pm to turn the power back on. 7:45 I called because no one showed up. Was connected to an automatic voice who said they were closed and call back the next business day. I'm confused, the PGW guys are confused, why have they not shown up? PGW needed them to turn the power back on so that they could make sure my pilots were re-lit and there were no other issues. They stayed as long as they could, which was a couple of hours. Meanwhile, I'm in my house with no power, and no gas. I go to my car to charge my phone and PGW supervisor shows up. I explain to him what had happened and he called Peco. Said they told him someone would be out ASAP. This is at 1:30am Sat morning. I call at 9am and was told someone was coming out. Nobody came out. I call at noon and was told someone was coming out, nobody came out. Finally at 3 someone comes out, but states he was only there to do one house. He puts in a call to his higher ups and they okay him to do both houses. IT TOOK HIM TEN MINUTES TO DO BOTH HOUSES!!!!! If Peco had been forthright and told me they didn't have anybody available I would be more understanding. They could have told me they wouldn't be able to do it until the next evening and I could have made arrangements. But since they didn't I had to call out of work, cause I didn't want to leave my dog in a hot house with no circulation. I wouldn't have a half full of partially thawed food, that I'm not sure is safe to eat. And since PGW can't schedule anyone until Monday, they told me this up front, my gas is still off so any food that was safe to cook today, won't be by Monday. And just so, we are all clear it took them TEN MINUTES TO RESTORE BOTH HOUSES !!!!!!!!!! After requesting service so many times I can't remember how many. And Peco didn't tell me they were turning off the power, I found out after PGW said I could run inside to get my meds. read more

When one clicks on PECO's visit application page it takes one to the United Way website, then one clicks on PECO Customer Relief Fund which takes one to another United Way page where one scrolls down to visit this webpage where one clicks on this which takes you back to another United Way page but it never links one to the online application. Peco Electric has a lot to answer for! The storms of Thursday, June 19, knocked out power for 300k customers. After 72 hours of outage, 25k customers are still out. Our street has a lot elderly citizens who are struggling in the heat wave without air conditioning! Peco said that addresses in and around the streets off Conestoga Road will be restored by 11pm on Saturday, June 21. 12 hours of broiling alive later, that status changed to 7am Sunday, June 22. Online, that changed again to 10pm Sunday, June 22. Hardwicke lane, Comrie Drive - these have over 60s residents who can no longer tolerate being baked alive. If we checked into hotel rooms, can we send the bills to Peco? This is a 24*7 organization which does not even seem to be working 7 hour days. We want our money back read more

I'm going on day three of no power. I am the only unit in my entire building without power. I have reported the outage online and via phone. Their automated system tells me "we are showing you have electricity"... clearly that's an error. I don't know if someone moved out of my building and they cut my power by mistake. I don't know. I am not an electrician. And I'm not going to be paying for electricity that I'm absolutely not using. I was able to get through and speak with a representative on the phone. They stated they would have someone on site as soon as possible. That was yesterday. I still have had no one reach out to me regarding an on site technician. I viewed the detailed usage on my PECO acct and it is showing that I am utilizing electricity, which is impossible since my entire apartment has no electricity. Clearly this is not a priority for them. It is a priority for me. Today was 80 something degrees. Thank God, I run cold. Have been sitting without power for 5 hour after a thunderstorm. Peco crews restored power 1 block away and left. There is no update or an estimate. When I called a few times I get blanket statements like we are working on restoring power as quickly as possible...but don't know when. I have not received a bill since the beginning of December. My next bill should have been due on January 7th. So I have been calling and sending emails regarding my bill. I finally got through to speak to customer service and the Customer Service Rep was extremely rude!!! He said that they are having a "BILLING ISSUE"!! I do not think that it is fair to me or all the customers that we will have to pay a $500/$600 bill or more because PECO is having a billing issue. I have to be honest. PECO aka Exelon is just the worst. If there is even a mild rain storm in our surburban neighborhood, we lose power, sometimes as long as a week. PECO never tells us what's going on. We've filed countless PUC complaints but they just don't care. The worst public utility on the face of the earth. Today, power out for 12 hours after a mild downpour and no explanation why our power is out. You get an operator on the phone, they don't know English and have not a clue what's going on. I have been a new Peco customer since June 2024. It is now January 2025 and I have yet to get a bill from Peco. I have called them numerous time about not having a bill for seven months. They have told me it's because we have a new system. Meanwhile, all my neighbors friends and family are getting their bill on time as I sit here and wait until when they decide to send me a bill I will be backed up for 12 months of accumulated Bills. I have also been told that I could be put on a payment plan but being put on a payment plan not only would it be a lump sum but the upcoming bills will be coming as well. I am so frustrated that for seven months. I can't get a bill from Peco. I tried speaking to a supervisor I was told that I can't speak to a supervisor because they will give me the same information. A decent company but two stars removed because their rates are too high (about 15 cents per KWh versus 10 cents at a competitor). And changing addresses is a real hassle. But they do get the job done and quickly repair outages (usually within hours not days). read more
