You will have a safety talk before the ride then fitted for your helmet and e-bike. Bikes are in excellent condition with plenty of power for the many uphill inclines. Our 2.5 hour e-bike tour took us through much of Boulder countryside, downtown, CU, and along beautiful streams. The guide (Tanner) pointed out interesting places with history facts. We even stopped by the Mork-n-Mindy TV house :) There is option for a bathroom stop if needed on the route. You can pretty much use the power assist the whole time and not needing to physically pedal. We felt safe the whole experience and the e-bike tour is great for individual, families or groups. Very fun tour! Tour starts with a quick electric bike "how to" and then you are off! Incredible the distance you can travel on the e-bikes! Saw a lot of Boulder and it's many views! I purchased a Pedego Element In the color blue. I have used it for normal everyday commute for about a year and was mostly satisfied up until recently. I noticed that behind the front forks on the bottom of my frame, the welds began cracking and there was some damage. I am not very tough on the bike, I have dropped off some curbs but no catching air or crashing the bike. I was concerned about the issue and took it into the shop in boulder. I was not having a good day and unfortunately was met with some rude staff. That kept telling me must have been riding over shrapnel and have been mistreating the bike. I told them I had not and they then told me to not come after them, I am not very pleased with the service and will be taking my bike to another shop when service is needed. read more

We went into the Pedego boulder store a few weeks ago "just to look around" AKA famous last words when it comes to our weekend retail adventures more often than not. Having rented Pedego bikes from the Carlsbad, CA location in vacations past, we knew the quality with the 5 year warranty and range of 50-60 miles per charge were exactly what we wanted and needed. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by Tina and Cheyenne with smiles and letting us look around for a few minutes with no pressure at all. After a little bit of surveying the new bike selection we were asked what type of riding we plan to do and where we would be doing the most riding. After discussing the details and options of a few different bikes we did a couple test rides and eventually settled on a Ridge Rider for myself and the Interceptor Platinum step through for my wife. The only hard part was pulling the trigger on the total price but as they say, buy once, cry once. They were so accommodating by swapping out handlebars for my wife's bike and changing to a more aggressive tire. We picked them up a few days later after yet another Colorado spring snow and couldn't be happier with our decision. Dropped mine off today for the 100 mile tuneup and adding a back tire rack and swapping out the seat post before we head out to Moab for some real adventures. We're so happy with our decision and I can't speak highly enough about these bikes and the people at the Boulder store are top notch when it comes to explaining and describing all the different ways to make the bikes your own. Wow- these guys are amazing ! It was hands down my favorite thing I did on my Boulder visit. I had very limited experience on e-bikes and was concerned I would not be able to keep up. The staff here are so friendly and helpful that fear soon went away. They make sure you are well fitted to the right bike for you - lots of different kinds. You have a bit of training on how these bikes work and then a test ride around the block a few times. Our guides Carl and Charlie were fantastic - so knowledgeable and friendly. They had a lot of fun facts - I learned new things about Boulder and I had lived here before. The scenery and views are breathtaking. Plenty of places to take a photo or two. While dropping off our son at college, I wanted to get a feel for Boulder and getting a bike ride at the same time is a huge bonus. I had never written an electric bike before, and I will have to say I am now a huge fan. It made it so easy to see a large amount of the town including the hill tops. Our tour guide Marley was very knowledgeable and it took very good care of us. Some of the sites on the tour that I really enjoyed where the historic neighborhood, the ride up the hill to the National Center for Aeronautic Research, the big wooden music Hall a top the Chautaqua camp.... I came in with a super old step through cruiser (10+ years) that was very hard to work on. The entire staff was so kind and helpful during the process and I'm so thankful. My bike is now in top shape and through really hard work, they got it done in time for me to bring it on my annual summer trip to the mountains where I ride that bike everyday. I don't know about the bike tours but I bought a bike from here over a year ago and had the worst experience ever. In my opinion, the owner is incredibly rude. I picked up my BRAND NEW bike from there and the brakes made a strange noise. I took it back and the owner said that I have to "bed" the breaks. I told her I had been trying and it still made a noise. She said she'll look at it and to pick it up later. I picked it up later and it still made the same sound. So I took it back AGAIN. This time, she was all huffy and mad and basically yelling at me. When I told her she's being unprofessional, she asked me why I was yelling at her!!!! In other words, she accused me of what she was doing. She said it will work itself out but the brakes STILL make the noise, a year later. I refuse to go back to this place so I called another person to finally fix it and that person told me that he has also heard stories about this owner and the way she behaves. In my opinion, do yourself a favor and don't buy your bike here. Go down to Denver. read more

The lady talked with the 4 of us for several minutes, nothing was available that day so we booked for the following day. Excited for our adventure we showed up the next day. Unfortunately, we were unable to ride because my teenagers are not 18 nothing was mentioned the day before. We could've made other plans had we known of this policy. It was a huge disappointment and we Missed out on another adventure that we could've booked on our short weekend in town. I understand the reasoning. However, it should've been mentioned when we booked the bikes, or perhaps have a visible and obvious sign that says "18 and over only" so this does not happen again to someone else. read more

Used them to rent 4 e-bikes and cruise all over the Boulder area. Great service, not a single problem with the bikes and they gave great food, booze and ride recommendations for us. Really couldn't ask for more, the location is right in the heart of Boulder and if have a mixed group of riding abilities the e-bikes will let you go anywhere you could think of without issue. Google Maps says that we did 13+ miles of cycling, including a large climb up to the NCAR Mesa Weather Laboratory, which had awesome views. E-Bikes made that climb trivial, and since we weren't really in it for the exercise that day, it was great. read more

I messed my knees up commuting with a badly setup bike and have had a bunch of physical therapy as a result. While I can ride my normal bike, I'm pretty limited in how much I can do. Having said that, I love the time out-doors at the beginning and end of my work day. Feeling the breeze and watching the seasons work on all the plants along my rout is magical. I've been researching eBikes for a while now and had determined that Pedego was a good fit for me based on options, quality, customer service and reviews from current owners. I stopped by the store a few times, while they were under renovation. Now they are back up and running and their space looks really cool. When I went into the store, Kingsley, the owner, was very friendly and invited me out for a guided test ride. He provided helmets with an intercom so we could discuss the ride as we went. It was one of those glorious light early spring afternoons. We went about 13 miles in an hour on a great big loop that took in some of the fantastic Boulder bike paths. We went to the bottom of NCAR hill, through Chitauqua park and back through neighborhoods to Eben G Fine park and back to the shop just off Pearl St. The next day I was back to rent a bike and do a solo ride. I worked with Conor to get the some adjustments made to the bike. I rode out to my office via the bike paths again. Had a stop at OZO for some green tea and ginger ice tea, yum! From the office, I rode my regular commute rout home in record time. From home I headed to Kalmia and 4th and cycled down to Pearl, I turned around and tried that big hill between Spruce and Mapleton. Again I did about 13 miles. Back at the shop for some adjustments and tried Mapleton Hill from Broadway a couple of times. After two days of more cycling than I've done in years (and enjoyment being outdoors) my knees feel fine! Kingsley and Connor were super helpful and clearly wanted to both facilitate a great experience with the test rides and also helped me adjust the bike so it will work for me in the long term. I'm thrilled to have ordered a bike and I can't wait for it to arrive so I can get back to my regular commute and other bike exploring. read more

I never saw myself as a super big fan of an electric bike. I'm someone who appreciates a workout and is constantly fighting against becoming a lazy college student, in fact I never thought anyone would see me on an electric bike. This past fall I had an operation on my knee and was non weight bearing for 6 weeks. The CU campus is impossible on crutches but the Pedego Stretch made life awesome.
