We hired PediaLabs for pediatric bloodwork, including a time-sensitive ACTH test, and the experience resulted in a failed draw and delayed care. We were rescheduled twice and the phlebotomist arrived late. Despite sending the order ahead of time, she appeared unprepared and did not have the correct vial for the lab we requested (Quest), so she asked to switch the sample to LabCorp during the appointment. The ACTH test was never performed. The LabCorp report rejected the specimen and noted the date/time of collection was not indicated. (Photo attached.) When we contacted the owner, she blamed the lab and denied that any issues or lab changes occurred. We were leaving town in a few days, and the only timely redraw option was another in-home visit (that we would have to pay for again), even though the first test failed. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled was unprofessional. Refusing to take responsibility or correct the failed test without additional charges. We chose to go elsewhere and would caution parents needing time-sensitive pediatric labs to consider other options. read more

Over an hour later: FOUR pokes between Yvonne AND Maria, a traumatized, screaming infant, and zero blood drawn. Their explanation was that they can't guarantee results for children under four who tense up resulting in a restricted blood vessel. I had to sit with that for a moment - because this is a company that specializes in pediatric blood draws. Either they're not as good as they used to be, or they're getting sloppy. When I kindly asked Maria for even a partial refund to acknowledge that the service was never completed, she refused without a second thought. No empathy. No accountability. Over $120 spent. A full day of work lost. A baby poked four times for nothing. They had every chance to make this right and chose not to. With this many 5-star reviews I genuinely hope our experience was an anomaly - but if you have a child under four, I wouldn't risk it. This review is long over due. My 3 month old son needed to get some blood work. I initially went to Sonora quest but quickly left when I realized they had little experience with kids so small. The lab told us it was submitted 4 days after it was drawn, and there was no communication from Pedialabs. Very upsetting for my child and irresponsible and unprofessional. Wow wow wow! Michelle was incredible. I cannot tell you how much I was dreading my seven month old get his blood drawn for his allergies -- I didn't even know that was possible to do a vein blood draw on someone so young. Maria & her team are AMAZING. Professional, fast, and wonderful with children. As an RN, I've always prepared and practiced with my son for shots and labs. He never cries, even after the "poke," and happily takes out his "treat" he gets afterward. Then, we had 2 unfortunate experiences with Sonora Quest (both the "pediatric" locations), and it erased the years of preparation and calm shots/labs. Sonora Quest sent in a phlebotomist who put the tourniquet on and then started pointing to every vein and saying, "I can go here, or here, or here, or here." Then proceeded to do the same with the other arm. To a child, that makes them think you're going to poke them in literally every single place he pointed at. My son thought he was going to be poked 20 times. When he started to get worried and scared, the phlebotomist had the audacity to immediately say "we're gonna have to restrain him!" in an annoyed voice. This was at their "Sonora Quest Kids" location. The experience with Maria was a complete 180. She was calm, relaxed, answered his questions, and performed the lab draw with zero fear or tears from my son. This experience effectively turned him back into the same kid who "never cries at shots or labs." We are so thankful and will never go anywhere other than PediaLabs! read more

I am so grateful that I found this place on yelp & I hope that others can too. Coming here was a godsend, as it was the easiest and most painless blood draw I have ever had. It has always been extremely hard for me to get my blood drawn because I have very small veins. Before my visit to PediaLabs, I have never had a draw where the nurse/phlebotomist did not miss and have had many experiences where they hit a nerve. However, Maria was amazing and made sure that it didn't hurt one bit and she was able to get a draw with precision.
