Every single time I went in, the staff was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Appointments they claimed were scheduled were not actually booked, which created unnecessary stress and confusion. I constantly had to advocate for myself because no one clearly explained what appointments I was there for or what was supposed to happen next. The insurance issues were also a nightmare. I am a veteran and receive maternity care through the VA. Their office spoke directly with my VA maternity care coordinator, yet I still had problems with my insurance at almost every visit. Instead of trying to help or find a solution, the attitude I got was basically, "Sorry, nothing we can do." That is unacceptable, especially when dealing with a pregnant patient in a vulnerable position. Toward the end of my pregnancy, I actually started canceling appointments because going into that office caused me more stress than reassurance. There were days I left in tears. The front desk staff showed no empathy, no professionalism, and no willingness to do anything beyond the bare minimum. As for Dr. Bruce, I did not have major issues with him personally, but I did feel dismissed at times. I understand insurance and front desk problems are not directly his job, but they are happening in his office, under his name. When I brought up issues, I did not feel like anyone cared enough to address them. I also had extremely severe varicose veins during pregnancy. Dr. Bruce did not seem very concerned, and I had to push to get a referral. When I finally saw the vein specialist, she was very concerned and told me they were the worst veins she had seen in about 20 years. Overall, I left this office feeling unsupported, dismissed, and stressed during one of the most vulnerable times of my life. I wish the people working there cared more about the type of care they are supposed to be providing. Pregnancy is already overwhelming. Patients should not have to fight the front desk, fight insurance confusion, and fight to be taken seriously at every visit.

That being said, there are a few things I've reflected on from my time at Blossom and I have recalled a couple experiences that left me feeling uncertain and hurt. I had desired to reduce ultrasound exposure to my baby as much as possible, so I had agreed to the 20wk anatomy scan and a position check around 30wks. I requested that the fetoscope be used rather than Doppler and that no other unnecessary ultrasounds be done. I met HEAVY resistance to this request from each midwife, but particularly from Kassie who pushed my boundaries in an unprofessional way and she came off very judgmental. Rather than explaining risks AND benefits, I felt ostracized, especially when I said "is this okay" and Kassie said "well, no", but with NO ability to explain ultrasound risks to me in an articulate or evidence-based way. I truly am sharing this experience to help Blossom consider a different way to approach something like this if it arises in the future. I ended up having a hospital birth with Kassie and she truly was an amazing midwife, so supportive and a great advocate. One other issue was that after my birth my placenta was sent to pathology because of some concerns about it. Chynna told me about this in my postpartum checkup, but I was never given the report to look over for myself, and she had said that Dr. Nichelle would reach out to me via phone call to review it which didn't happen. Dr. Nichelle was also incredible during my birth and I'm thankful for her care. Again, my perinatal care from Blossom overall was excellent and I wish I had been proactive to address these issues with the midwives in person, but I also feel that it is good to share my experiences for others to know what care is like at Blossom. I do truly believe that each of these midwives care about you and your baby's safety and desire for you to have the birth you want! There is certainly more freedom in your care here than at a hospital! Thank you to my midwives and to Blossom for my experience. I look back on it fondly.

About a year ago I decided to get an implantable estrogen HRT pellet from Arcadia Well Woman. I did…read morea hormone panel and they told me my testosterone was low so they recommended I add some testosterone. I agreed, but the testosterone had an adverse affect on my and I spent the next three months irritable, aggressive, and full of uncontrollable anger. It affected my relationships. I almost lost my husband because of my mood shifts and irrational anger. I lost my self esteem, I grew body hair all over and I hated myself. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't think rationally. It was like a monster had taken control of my body and wouldn't let go. I decided I would never make the mistake of adding T to my hormones again. Last month I decided I wanted to try the pellet again, minus the testosterone. I went in for a checkup, and thoroughly explained what had happened last time and that while I wanted an estrogen pellet, I did not want testosterone again. The doctor agreed, she said "That was way too much, we won't do that again." We scheduled the procedure for late May. The procedure took place last thursday, and when it was over I said "I'm glad I won't have to deal with that testosterone anymore." and the doctor responded "What do you mean, we put testosterone in this pellet too." I told them to take the pellet out immediately, that we had had a thorough conversation about this and I made it clear that under no circumstances did I want testosterone. She said she didn't remember the conversation. I told her it's explicitly her job to remember the conversation. She told me there's nothing in the records about it. I told her it's explicitly her job to keep those records. The pellet had already crumbled in my body at this point and she informed me that she was unable to remove it. She gave me supplemental estrogen and prescribed spirolactone, but neither has proven effective in keeping this aggression in check. I am now faced with the prospect of another three months of artificial irritability, anger, and rage, and it is directly the fault of Arcadia Well Woman. It was malpractice, and it was assault. I wish I had the capacity to sue them. I wish I had the grace to let it go. But thanks to their actions, I have neither. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend someone go to this doctor.

I had originally booked at another place, went in and was super sketched out and left. I did my research and found this place, which has nothing but good things said about them. I booked my appointment 2 weeks out because I had to be 7 weeks. Those 2 weeks leading to this was hard and my anxiety grew stronger everyday from the fear of this procedure. I am writing this review to help someone else who is in the same boat as me. When I got to camelback family planning it was very welcoming and nice staff. I took a zofran to help with nausea, right when I got there today they got me right in, my appointment was at 9:45 and I was out at 11. did the ultrasound, talked it over with the doctor (who was INCREDIBLY sweet) a stylish blonde fabulous older lady, who I expressed I was very nervous. She helped me along the entire thing and made me feel so unbelievably comfortable. The nurse in the room with me as well was fabulous. It was much more relieving then I expected. Mid convo in the procedure room I went out from the IV and then felt like one minute later I was in the recovery room, where a very sweet nurse also took care of me. I remember absolutely nothing until I woke up 30 minutes in the recovery room. If you are scared you will remember anything during the procedure don't worry you won't remember a thing. I was very worried about that. I am now home and feel so much better. I have light bleeding and cramps and I am so glad I went with the procedure over the pill, which I had originally planned on doing the pill but was talked out of it by friends saying this is the way to go. I wouldn't have done it any other way. This place is incredible and they really treat you like one of their own. If you are hesitant on doing this let me be your say on go here! I couldn't recommend more and will be recommending it to anyone I know in the future. It's also cheaper then any other place I found online which is clear they are not here for the money but to help women. You guys are the best thank you!

I came in with clear birth preferences and a lot of trust in this practice. That trust was completely broken. My labor experience was disorganized and distressing. The nurses struggled to get in contact with Michelle, and I labored for an extended period without my provider present until it was finally time to push. While I understand that birth can be unpredictable, I ended up experiencing nearly every intervention I had hoped to avoid. More importantly, I did not feel heard, respected, or advocated for at any point. The most alarming part of my experience was postpartum care. I experienced severe postpartum mental health symptoms and did not receive appropriate support, guidance, or urgency from Michelle or the office. Honestly, I didn't even felt believed. My condition escalated to the point where I was nearly in psychosis and close to taking my own life. That level of crisis requires immediate, competent care, and it simply was not there. Communication with this office is extremely poor and, frankly, unsafe. Calls go unanswered, messages are not returned, and I have been unable to get responses even for critical needs like short-term disability paperwork. At times, it has genuinely felt like I was being ignored or blocked, which is unacceptable in any medical setting--especially postpartum. I ultimately sought care from another OB, who informed me that my tear had not been properly repaired. This added unnecessary physical trauma on top of an already deeply distressing experience. To be fair, I did have positive interactions with Dr. Hervey and Dr. Merrill, who both seemed competent and compassionate, as well as a few kind nurses plus Melissa and Carrie. However, those isolated experiences do not make up for the overall lack of care, responsiveness, and accountability I experienced. I made the decision to switch to Premier OB based on a trusted recommendation, hoping for better, more supportive care. Instead, I left with trauma, complications, and a complete loss of trust in this practice.

The gentleman behind the counter who greeted us was very nice and I loved the fact there were toys to play with for our toddler son. Thankfully they kept him busy in the waiting room. The ultrasound tech was sweet and she had a nice upbeat attitude. She kept things very positive, although our baby wasn't cooperating that well. We ended up with a lot of side profiles because she was covering her face with either hands or feet. We did the 4D ultrasound at 33 week, although it worked well for our son, I think our daughter was a bit too cramped to really show her face. Overall I give 5 stars since everyone was nice. If they don't get a good view, I know their website states they will offer you to come back. We didn't ask, since it wasn't offered to us, maybe due to her age? Not too sure what the guidelines are.

During transition and pushing, she offered guidance and support that was helpful in those intense final hours. I do believe she understands birth well and brings expertise to the room. That said, there were a few things that did not sit right with me. At multiple points during contractions, when I looked up, she was visibly on Facebook and Instagram. I understand that long labors can involve downtime, but she was only physically present at the hospital for a few hours during transition and pushing. Given the relatively short window of in person support, it felt disappointing and inappropriate that she was on social media during that time. It made me feel like she was not fully present in such a vulnerable moment. There were also moments where her reactions felt disproportionate, such as when the toilet water unexpectedly splashed up. Her response heightened the situation rather than helping me feel grounded and calm. In addition, I found the overall value of the package to be underwhelming compared to other doulas I interviewed. Many offered formal childbirth classes (which were extra through MM) and ongoing support groups as part of their services, whereas Modern Mama primarily offered monthly mini classes on rotating topics, which did not always feel directly relevant or comprehensive. For the investment, I had expected more structured education and support. Though I was appreciative of the nice photos that were included. I am grateful for her knowledge and the role she played in helping bring my baby into the world, but I do wish the level of presence, professionalism, and overall value had been stronger throughout the experience. I likely won't hire Modern Mama again although I don't have experience with the other doulas.
