But the crown popped off, it was more than 5 years old since the original implant. The original crown was with another practitioner, but Dr K was able to clean and prepare the crown for reimplantation. Less than two day wait to be seen, less than 5 minute wait for the actual appointment in office. After approximately 10 minutes, my problem was solved-- the crown was re-cemented in place. I threw out the gummies. I use GEHA high option for insurance, and have never been disappointed with my share of the cost for services. GEHA allows three cleanings per year, and I have zero co-pay. No fees for parking on New Scotland Ave is another added attraction. I have never had a bad transaction with Dr Kanakasabapathi or her polite staff. I began with her office prior to the Covid epidemic.

I'm happy to share that I have found that very dentist. I take good care of my teeth and typically go in for routine cleanings every six months and rarely have cavities. But when I do have the occasional problems that pop up every 3 or 4 years, they are significant and costly. Normally I get ahead of things before they become an issue but with my big move and a pretty intense past 10 months or so, I had gone an entire year without a cleaning or exam. And then an old crown popped off when I was flossing, reminding me that I better get my ass to the dentist. I searched for a dentist on Yelp and was finding that barely any are reviewed around these parts! And then I found Mel Mel Dental with what appeared to be a very sincere 5 star review, so I took a chance. In all my years of going to dentists, I find my experience here to be the best of all. I rarely if ever, have to wait. There's a family-like atmosphere amongst the staff that makes one feel immediately comfortable. If you look at their website, they give a bio on everyone from reception to hygienists to Dr. Suditu himself. So cool! I actually look forward to seeing the staff and Theresa, the dental assistant, is particularly great to talk to. She makes you feel immediately comfortable as if you're about to share a bottle of wine rather than get dental work done. Finally, a note on painless dentistry. Dr. Suditu is particularly careful to explain exactly what is going on from anesthesia (he expertly administers the shot so that you barely feel it) to the procedure itself. Similarly, he explains your options and takes insurance coverage into consideration. These are all the things that can cause stress in a patient. Aspen Dental advertisers $28 X-ray and examination Nationwide…read more My first visit to Aspen Dental March 26th 2026. I was given and full frontal x-ray and examination. After the procedure explanation and dental plan and billing. They explain that I was beginning to have paradigmos disease. They would build my insurance $20O0 and myself would have to pay $200 out of pocket. I explain to office manager that I have never paid out of pocket Other than co-pay. And I have some of the best insurance as a New York State Employee under CSEA Dental Program. So I declined any further procedures. I soon contacted Upstate Dental. They quickly upfront explain to me that my insurance was not going to pay for any x-rays being that I had already had x-rays done. And I needed to have Aspen Dental forward The full frontal x-rays two Upstate Dental. I did so immediately went to Aspen Dental @ 979 Central Avenue suite 400. Signed information release forms to be emailed to Upstate Dental. When I went to Upstate Dental they had the x-rays. They kept emphasizing that I had very good insurance with New York State and they could proceed with any procedure that was needed. On May 2nd 2026 I received a bill from Aspen Dental for $164.00 I contacted Martha in billing. I explained to her that I was not informed that my insurance company was not going to pay for the x-rays. If I had been informed I would have been able to refuse any procedures that Aspen Dental were providing. I am on FMLA at half pay and 164.00 is a burden to me. She explained that each and every Aspen Dental is individually owned and have their own rules and regulations. I asked about the $28 full examination and x-rays. She explained to me that that was for people who did not have insurance. That is not disclosed in their Nationwide advertisement. While on hold on a telephone one of their advertisements says they offer Peace of mind billing up front full disclosure of any billing and procedures. Yet and still I was not advised that my insurance company was not going to pay for x-rays. She then inform me that you probably could negotiate with the Central Avenue office I asked for the name of the office manager Alexis. I called and left a detailed voicemail and got no response in return. Upstate Dental was forthcoming and transparent and explain to me that x-rays had to be transferred. And my insurance company was not going to pay it. Aspen Dental did not ask for my previous x-rays from Dr. Mustafa Sabai @ 165 Manning boulevard Albany New York. Knowing that my insurance company was not going to pay for the x-rays there was no full disclosure, transparency, or explanation in the procedure and billing meeting with the office manager @ Aspen Dental 979 Central Avenue on March 26th. Aspen Dental has shown predatory practices by Nationwide advertising that you can get an examination & X-rays for $28. When that is not true. They were not up front transparent with the disclosure that my insurance company was not going to pay for the full frontal x-rays. Although they were very much aware of this fact. I find that Aspen Dental is deceptive in their office billing and business practices. They practice predatory senior billing$$$!

After a crown was placed in March 2025, my regular dentist later found excess cement left directly on my gum line--a basic and preventable error. My dentist was extremely disturbed by this and stated it could have caused damage to my gums. Leaving cement behind reflects a clear lack of attention to standard dental care and patient safety. To make matters worse, the crown fell off while I was eating (and unfortunately swallowed) yet I was told I would need to pay out of pocket for a completely new crown, despite the original being placed only months earlier. Refusing to stand behind recent work while shifting the financial burden onto the patient is unprofessional and unacceptable. Between the billing irregularities, substandard workmanship, and lack of accountability, I strongly advise others to avoid this office altogether. If you do choose to go here, verify every charge, closely monitor what is submitted to your insurance, and be prepared to seek corrective care elsewhere.

I recently had a new patient visit and cleaning at Hartford Dental Associates and was very…read moreimpressed. My appointment started on time, a huge plus from the beginning. Everyone was very friendly and conversational. First, Heidi (Dental Assistant) took all of my x-rays and photographs of my teeth; she was very thorough. Next, I had my exam with Dr. Berry, who was also friendly, and I could tell he likes to joke around, which was nice, given a lot of people are anxious during dental appointments. I had a few questions, which he answered and explained next steps. Lastly, Brittnae (Registered Dental Hygienist) did my cleaning. She measured all of my periodontal pockets -- something I've never had done before, so I was highly impressed by the level of attention and care they give their patients. Brittnae explained everything she was doing and answered all of my questions. Most importantly, she was very gentle on my teeth and gums during the cleaning. The office takes all COVID safety precautions, which was such a relief. Everyone wears a mask (surgical or N95 or both), and I noticed HEPA filters throughout the office. In addition, the office is completely digital (no paper!) and very modern. Overall, I have had a very positive new patient visit and am looking forward to my next cleaning. Highly recommend!

(Yes, I live on the west coast now, but my spouse and I still belong to their practice exclusively because we are really attached to our dentists!) The dentists and their staff are caring, personable, knowledgeable, and gentle. Over the years, I've had some fillings done, and it has been with kind hands every time. I look for high technical competency, as well as excellent bedside manner in my healthcare providers, and the Wohl Family Practice team fits my needs, and then some. I've visited many dentists in my life, and many dental specialists. These dentists are the best I've ever had. It's a real gift to my family and to the community that the Wohl team is in the world, and I would believe this even if juggling weren't a prerequisite for all their on-staff dentists. But the juggling doesn't hurt.
