Dr. Chavone and Dr. Gwen are a great team and run the best PT place in NOVA. Highly trained, experienced, knowledgeable and friendly therapists. I've been seeing them post achilles surgery for about 3 weeks. In addition to needing PT to regain full use of my ankle and foot, 8 weeks in a boot left me with an injured kneed from walking funny and significant muscle atrophy. Not only have I been making great progress, but I actually feel myself getting stronger. Both Dr's are great at giving encouragement, motivation and a little helpful push when you need it. They also really listen to their patients and their patients bodies. Finally, Dr. Chavone and Dr. Gwen are always happy to answer any questions in detail- in layman's terms all the way up to an in depth medical discussion. Everything is SUPER CONVENIENT: plenty of parking, unlike trying to get in/out of fair oaks hospital complex; plenty of hours available; and an elevator in back that takes you right to the office. Their office itself is very clean, has everything needed to provide excellent care and very bright, open and welcoming. It looks like a small, very modern gym with up-to-date brand new equipment. My initial therapy is about halfway finished, but I hoping I can continue to do more balance and strength workouts. I really like this crew. OK, in one of their rooms is what looks like some kind of suspension training system. When I asked, they said it was the REDCORD NEURAC system. If you don't play for the Washington Capitol Hockey team, you can't find this anywhere within 50 miles of the DC/NOVA area. it is one of the most innovative and effective (peer reviewed) systems for treating challenging muscle/skeletal pain. I really wanna try it for or Post Laminectomy Syndrome (back pain/leg sciatica). I'm amazed and will be forever grateful for her care. The reason for 4 stars is the pediatrics (it should be a much lower rating but love love love Meghan and her services here too much to deduct more). Meghan is wonderful with my daughter. However we had a 315 appointment for my daughter and by the time she finally got her shots, it was nearly 5pm. That is TOO long to wait around for shots for your kid who is extremely nervous about shots to begin with. (And it was an appointment for ONLY shots. Not an annual exam.) Also, having a man walk in she has never met with a mask on, needles and vials on a try, never introduce himself to me or my child, wearing a mask, and just basically saying sit on the table and hold her down like this.....ummm...my 5 year old literally dove behind the chair sobbing and begging to not get shots (she has never acted like that either). I am kicking myself for acquiescing to that bullshit. I can't believe I just moved the chair and dragged her out and did it. I'm just as mad at myself as I am at the lack of proper interaction with a child. I realize at some point you may have to hold down your child to get shots but if you have pediatrics in your name, please understand a child is small but still a human to interact with not simply be dealt with. And if I am have already been there FOREVER waiting, maybe slow down and talk for a moment. Picture a tall large masked person coming at you when you were that age. Also understand that psychology today and other journals discuss that this type of interaction could lead to a lifetime of avoidance of doctors offices and shots. In addition, when my daughter got her hemoglobin done here, the person who did it (she was calm and trusting then - not anymore) could not get the stick. I asked if we should warm up her finger to try again and I was told no. However that is what they do at childrens?! It is a legit suggestion. And also perhaps try on the side not the very tip....that is also perhaps not a best practice. This isn't my world, however, again, if you have pediatrics in your name....and perhaps have one interesting thing for a child somewhere in the office. As an adult, go here. See Meghan. She very well could save your life and she is the best ever. But take your kid elsewhere until they are a bit older...

They are giving CANCER patients ALL with SEVERE pain Tylenol. Multiple lumbar punctures messed up as well. Stabbing me instead of the usual 1 poke about x4,effecting all my nerves and ability to walk, Non-sedated.not smooth surgeries AT ALL like how they listed in the surgery summary, and LP hurts for months because the surgeons experiment when i tell them what exactly works for me and shut me down and experiment until something works. ER will be at least 8 hours as well and very rude. And all of doctors and nurses do not have any sympathy for cancer patients anymore as they've ALL become desensitized to the horror of cancer. The doctors also deny me the only pain medicine that works for my 11/10 pain I have to LIVE WITH because they told me to just "deal with the pain". Instead of giving me the medicine that stops my chemo induced ALL body pain. Simply if you are over 18 with cancer DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOSPITAL they are SO rude and DONT CARE about their patients like they claim they do. You ARE a statistic. They do NOT care for your well-being at all like they swear they do as they continue to deny me pain medicine and nausea medicine.

The whole interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. To top it off, right as I was wrapping up the call and saying "okay thank you," he hung up on me before I even finished my sentence. That lack of basic courtesy left a really negative impression. Again, I have no complaints about the doctors or the actual care, but the attitude of the person answering the phones makes a huge difference in how patients perceive the office. First impressions matter, and this one was disappointing.

I have been a patient at LSFP for 25 years. This practice is a shadow of what it once was. Appointments now consist of basic questions and exams that barely touch the service of issues. My last physical didn't even include a hernia exam, and I'm a 39 year old male with a history of hernias. The nurse practitioners they have on staff are under-qualified at best. The front desk staff are rude, and the intake nurses are also unprofessional. This practice has lost any idea of what customer service means and seems to now be an appointment mill that bills your insurance for telling you to buy some Motrin and get some bed rest. Today was the last straw for us. My wife recently gave birth naturally and our OBGYN recommended we see our PCP for a referral for physical therapy for a month from now to help get her back on her feet and speed her recovery. We called and scheduled an appointment for this specific purpose with the front desk who confirmed that they could give a referral for PT. After waiting for an hour, my wife was seen by a family nurse practitioner that took her temperature and blood pressure, checked her height and weight, eyes and ears, and listened to her breathing. Then, without any examination of her pelvic floor muscles, said that PT 'wasn't indicated' at this time and we should come back for another appointment after our 6 week checkup with our OBGYN for ANOTHER appointment. She explained that we had been sent by the OBGYN to get a referral but the FNP refused to issue the referral and sent her packing. I went in to address this with the front desk and they gave me the run-around, then brought out a 'provider' who first said she had seen my wife but after having me explain the whole situation told me she was just the intake nurse, then asked me to re-explain the situation, then laughed when I said I didn't want to explain myself again and wanted to talk to the actual nurse that had seen my wife. All in all it was a nice hour and fifteen minutes absolutely wasted by the front desk and clinical staff because of their inability to listen and/or be upfront about what services they are willing and able to provide. To LSFP - if you can not or will not offer a service then perhaps your front desk staff shouldn't confirm the appointment for it. Your practice used to be great, and now it is a terrible place to go for care and competent customer service. I've had better customer service at McDonald's. Your front desk staff especially leaves a lot to be desired in the professionalism department. 25 years as a patient and I have never been treated the way I was treated today. We won't be back. SO, as mentioned above I needed an urgent care facility as I was feeling beyond miserable and my local tried and true facility wasn't open for some odd reason so I searched and found this establishment. Reviews were great so I said perfect, yet upon arrival I literally sat in my car second guessing even going in because I've been spoiled by the likes of Inova and Patient First where "curb appeal" is a thing (& matters). Yet I got over myself and went in because as I said I was sick! Upon entry I again said maybe I need to keep searching because you literally can see the dust on many of the items that are both on the floor and strewn upon the tables and walls .... and there's so much tattered signage on the wall you don't know what to look at or what's relevant .... But the service! The front desk woman was phenomenal! Her "bedside manner" was top notch as I listened to her ease the worries of folks on the phone and simultaneously take care of me and one other patient. She was truly the shining star of this establishment. And my wait time was non existent which was really nice! I completed paperwork, insurance was verified and the doctor saw me right away. The doctor was interesting because I felt as though she was more interested in my nail design and handbag than in truly paying attention to what I was sharing about my illness.... But she diagnosed me and sent my prescriptions right over to the pharmacy with no issues. So, as I said in the beginning, tough review to write because the service provided was pretty good, however, the packaging in which it all was wrapped was tattered and we all know presentation matters, so, this was a one and done experience for me and I'll be returning to Inova or Patient First where I feel cleanliness standards are met,

It was at most 5 minutes to stay, and I was called back literally 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. It was not a first, but I was pleasantly surprised. I met with the nurse first, she checked my vitals, went over medications and got an EKG. She made sure I didn't have questions before Dr. Benton came in. He, too, was excellent and came highly recommended. We discussed what occurred and he wanted to do a series of tests to try and determine what happened. We discussed a plan and then he took questions from me and didn't rush me out the door until I was finished. I'm not used to this type of doctor though pleasantly surprised. This is the first time I've seen a cardiologist in this area and I highly recommend Dr. Benton and Virginia Heart.
