We go to a different pediatrician, but the only pediatric allergist in my health plan is a part of Pediatric Associates with an office in West Boynton. In order to see this specialist, it is required to see one of Pediatric Associate's doctors first. As in, they do not take referrals from outside pediatricians. This did frustrate me, but I went ahead and made the initial appointment with one of their non-allergist doctors, and this east office is the closest to me. Pediatric Associates has many offices across Florida, with streamlined processes and office management, which is helpful when trying to access things- and I do appreciate that. They gave me an appointment for the next day. On arrival, the check in process via my phone was simple, and it is nice that they have a well area in the waiting room. When walking to our room to see the doctor, two staff members were arguing loudly at the desk outside of our room, which was rather off putting. And the decor is crumbling a bit. The Nurse who saw us, Julia Guild, was awesome. Kind, knowledgeable, efficient: she put me and my kids at ease right away. The appointment was for 1 of my kids, but I asked the Nurse if she thought my other son might also have allergies, and she was kind enough to tell me this was probably. So, after checking out, I asked the office if they had any immediate openings to see my other son. Within a half hour, we were back seeing the same nurse. This kind of flexibility was so helpful! I would definitely return to see Ms. Guild in particular if I ever wanted a second opinion or was considering changing practices. Thank you! And thank you to the awesome staff who are so on top of things- very impressive!

1 STAR -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Pediatric Associates in East Boynton Beach. I called to schedule an appointment for my 13-year-old daughter because she has not had her menstrual period in six months. This is obviously something I take seriously as a parent, and I wanted her evaluated by her pediatrician. I was originally given an appointment for 4:20 PM today, so I made arrangements to leave work early to make sure she could be seen. About one hour before the appointment, I received a call asking me to come in at 7:55 PM instead. Apparently, my original appointment with the doctor I was scheduled to see was canceled, and we were moved to an after-hours visit. I rearranged my entire work schedule for the original appointment, only to have it changed at the last minute. When we arrived, the experience at the front desk was already unpleasant. The attitude we received was completely unnecessary. I was then charged $40 to be seen, which made the situation even more frustrating. The doctor came in, introduced himself, and asked what brought us in. I explained AGAIN that my daughter has not had her period in six months. His response was essentially that there was nothing he could do and that he could only give me a referral to a gynecologist. I asked, "Then why was I asked to bring her in and pay $40 for this appointment?" I also asked if at least some blood work could be done to determine if there might be an underlying issue. I was told no, because he didn't know what blood tests to order and that the OB/GYN would know. At that point, I was extremely frustrated. My daughter wasn't even properly evaluated before we were simply told to see someone else. When I went to check out, I asked the front desk if a refund could be considered since the doctor essentially walked in, listened to the issue, did not examine my daughter, did not order any testing, and simply gave us a referral. Instead of receiving understanding or assistance, Anna at the front desk became very dismissive and rude, telling me, "Nobody's holding you here. I can't give you a refund. You can go now." I then asked about the referral and wanted to know which OB/GYN we were being referred to. I was told there was no doctor's name listed and that I would have to contact my insurance and find an OB/GYN myself. I asked if they could at least print the referral for me, and the paper was thrown onto the counter. I was told a manager would call me regarding the refund, which I doubt! Honestly, after the way I was treated, I am not confident that call will ever come. As a parent, I expect better when I bring my child in with a medical concern that has been going on for six months. I understand that a pediatrician may need to refer a patient to a specialist, but the way this entire situation was handled--from changing my appointment at the last minute, to charging me $40, to providing virtually no evaluation, to the attitude I received at the front desk--was unacceptable. This was not about getting a referral. It was about how the entire situation was handled and how I was treated as a concerned parent. I hope management takes this complaint seriously because no parent should leave a pediatrician's office feeling dismissed, frustrated, and disrespected when seeking care for their child.

Scheduling: Last time my son had a well visit we waited an hour and a half just to be brought in. Our appointment was at 8:40 and we didn't get done until 2 hours later and it wasn't even a sick visit. I asked the woman ahead of me what time her appointment was and she was scheduled for just 10 minutes before me. When I told office staff that I need to get to work too I was told "we don't rush the doctors". Great - don't over schedule them then. At the well visit I was given a referral for a specialist for my son. Turns out that doctor had a 6 month wait. I made an appointment for a different provider and requested an updated referral the same day. It says 7-10 business days. 2 weeks later I called to follow up because his appointment is the day after Labor Day. They hadn't even started working on it. I've called every day for 3 days now being assured it will be done "today or tomorrow " each time and nothing. If we don't get it in two days he will miss his appointment. If my son misses his appointment I will be checking with my legal plan to se if there is a case for medical neglect. I also called my insurance to find out about lodging a grievance. I'm going to reach out to corporate too - Pediatric Associates Family of Companies where patients just don't seem to matter anymore . I will update the review after my son is supposed to have his appointment. Update: after calling twice a day for the past 3 days, calling multiple departments not just the one for referrals, I finally connected with someone on the medical side that cared enough to get the referral department to get it done in time. It worked out but is not an experience I would recommend. I added one star for the person who cared so the positive is the medical end but if you need a referral expect to have to follow up often and hope you get it in time.

If you want to go to an office who treats your kid as a number in their 500 kids being seen a day waste your time at this office. Dr Goldstein and her staff is dismissive and outright rude she makes nasty sly comments throughout her visit and is not pleasant to share space with but considering she's the ONLY allergist in any office in northern south Florida people are forced to see her
