Got an old Buick with a great engine. It has a throttle body failure. Car skipping & wont do over 40 miles an hour. Took it to dealer, they don't service cars over 15 years old. Took it to my neighborhood mechanic, over 3 months , 3 attempts to fix it failed. Pedro's told me in 3 days, no throttle body available and no longer manufactured. No charge. Honest work. Quick and complete. Although my car was not repaired, I feel satisfied about seeking another mode of transportation. read more

I dropped off my old 2006 Ford Expedition at 8am to check a fuel leak in the engine bay and to see why my dashboard lights do not come on anymore. I like the folks at Pedro's, I really do think they try to do a good job at a resonable price. However, I had my vehicle there for an AC repair/ system recharge on 3 seperate occasions in the last 18 months, which obviously shouldn't be happening. 1st trip: They recharged my AC system, but there was a leak in the system they didn't catch, so it leaked out. 2nd trip: I told them I might have a leak, and they said they would take a look to see if they could locate it. They charged the system with dye, but they said they could not find a leak, so they recharged my AC system again. But it leaked out again and my AC stopped working. 3rd trip: I told them again, "Guys, something is LEAKING!" They replaced several AC lines and seals, pumped in a ton of dye to locate the leak, and still couldn't find the leak. They charged me a ton of money, I guess because they finally had to work and turn wrenches; and Pedro himself said, "You should be good now." But 6 months later, AC system isn't working AGAIN! So I went ahead and got off my lazy butt and began turning wrenches on my truck, and BEHOLD, I found a bunch of AC compressor dye leaking from underneath the AC compressor itself. So obviously it was the seal on the underside of my AC compressor itself that was the culprit. It should not have taken 3 trips to Pedro's to locate a leak that I (a shade tree mechanic/ hack, if I could be called that at best) found in 20 minutes of turning wrenches. I like Pedro's overall, and I like Pedro himself. I think they are honest mechanics, who try to do a good job, which is rare these days. But I definately think in my situation, they could have performed better. read more

I'm disappointed with the service, not the quality of the work completed. I scheduled the appointment in advance to replace my valve cover gaskets. They assured me it would be completed same day. When I dropped it off at 8am, they provided a price and said they would call me once inspected. I called them at 330pm for status, and they said they would call me back. They returned my call at 430pm, and advised I needed new valve cover gaskets. They did not complete the job because Tally Ford did not have them. Out of stock. But, Tally Ford can have them the next day. I left the car overnight to be completed next day. I called Tallahassee Ford, parts department. The gaskets were in stock and had been in stock. I discussed with Pedro and he stated that they must have lied to him about being out of stock. Finally, he agreed that the gaskets were ordered late, and could not be delivered till morning. Unfortunately, he would not admit that he just forgot about my car and made excuses and blamed others to placate me. If he had said, Sir, I messed up. I didn't look at your car timely, and can't complete it today. Would you let me keep it over night, and let me finish it it in morning. For your trouble, I'll wash your car. Or, some other token of good faith. Again, the work quality was great, but not being honest to a customer and making excuses for what took place does not show very good character. I would give them zero stars if I could I made it very clear that I was on a time schedule and that this van that they were working on was my home and I was driving across country in it They did sloppy work I made it 150 mi away and my van was completely fried They didn't put parts back together They didn't connect the distributor wires to the spark plugs They did very sloppy work. I was scheduled in for Tuesday for a tune up in an oil change on Thursday I had to call them four times to get an answer on my vehicle that hadn't even started work 4 days later. After I spent 17 hours on the side of the road because my van was blown up and now I'm stuck in a hotel room for 3 weeks because I can't get a mechanic that can work on it for 3 weeks he did refund my money but had the nerve to call and ask me to take the bad review down because he thought he did the right thing after he's cost me days and time and money and did not respect my home that I asked him to please take care of properly absolutely unacceptable work do not recommend read more

So, my 2014 Honda CRV air conditioning has been out for a week or so. After nearly bursting into flames on the way home from work one day... it's August, in Florida after all... I called Pedro's. The gentleman who answered was very polite and told me it would be fine to drop it off the next morning. When I arrived, the place was packed with cars. I went inside and was greeted right away. He took my info and keys and said they would call me after taking a look at the car. So Pedro himself called a couple hours later and said I need a new compressor and a couple other parts and that it would cost $977. I told him to go ahead and do it. I almost passed out after hearing the cost, but after talking to some mechanically inclined men about it, I realized it was pretty typical for parts and labor for this kind of job. Pedro called again about 5 hours later and said the car was ready. When I arrived, Pedro assisted me with payment, gave me my keys and I was off. I love that I didn't have to wait around. The office is clean and they are very well organized and efficient. I will return with any other car repair needs! read more

I was having some issues with a seat in my car along with my air conditioning, and they fixed both and only charged me for air conditioning. The other people I went to suggested that the only option to fix the seat was to buy a brand new seat, and Pedro's just cleaned the electrical connections and it worked fine. DO NOT TAKE YOU CARE THERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT IT. So, I know someone that I was with that took their truck there. Please understand this person also know HOW TO WORK ON CARS and DOES when he has time. Well, he started working a new job, so it was easier for him to take it to Pedro to let him do the work since he wouldn't have the time being that he just started a new job. At this point, he also started referring his mother, his aunt, his cousin, and others to go to Pedro so he was receiving that business based on his referral. Well that stopped once he found out the shabby work they were doing. His pads that he ordered online for his Ford truck that you cannot find in a store were gone and was replaced with a piece of carpet. He has a nice older Ford truck. Coincidentally, Pedro has the same truck and even told him about it and asked him if he wanted to sale his truck so I'm just putting that out there. I was there when he confronted Pedro about not only the pads being missing but the shabby work that was done. Pedro started telling customers to go inside the office as he did not want them to hear the conversation. As he told Pedro, he knows how he bought his truck in and why was grease and oil left everywhere. Moreover, I heard him telling him that they went into areas that was unnecessary to do the job they needed to do (we call this progging around). He also told Pedro about his pads being missing that he just purchased and placed in his truck. Pedro kept saying he would replace them. The point is they were new and unique to the truck so they should not have been removed (stolen). Also, other things there were supposed to be done on truck they did not do and was sloppy leaving grease everywhere. Mind you, this person is meticulous with his vehicle and able to work on cars, so he pointed that out to Pedro, and he had sh... on his face. #2) his aunt brought her vehicle to get it fix and later she found out from the dealership they replaced her battery with a motorcycle battery yes, a motorcycle battery - I cannot make this stuff up. She took it to the dealership because she was having problems right after she left Pedro. She was so upset she wanted to drive right back to Pedro and go off. #3) his mom had her truck taken there for work and when she got home, her son, also the mechanic checked it because she complained it was making noise only to find out they did not do what they were supposed to do. I heard him speaking on the phone with Pedro and he told him what they didn't do etc. because he looked at it and Pedro was adamant they did. So, he escorted his mom back to Pedro with her truck, and again, Pedro had egg on his face and admitted he was correct. I assume Pedro and staff read this so now this is directed to you, Pedro I am sure you know who we are. Please understand that you cannot pull one over especially on someone that is also able to work on cars and know about their vehicles, while you can do that with customers that have no idea or clueless about their car, this doesn't work with people that have that same knowledge and, in this case, better knowledge. You used to be good when you worked at Ford. I am not sure what happened once you opened your shop and perhaps it is also the workers you hire but your quality is not the same. WARNING TO ALL, shops love repeat business so you may find something else goes wrong later down the line, just know that they will mess with something in your car so you will return and become a repeat customer. Also, stealing parts from your car to replace them on other cars happens more often than you think. While I cannot say I know for a FACT that happened at Pedro's because I didn't witness that oh well. Ultimately, I went this with this person when he wanted to talk to Pedro in person to ensure no one ended up in the county jail that day. He told Pedro he would not be back and would tell everyone about what he (staff) did. So, he along with all his relatives do not take their vehicles there. You've been warned. read more

I called Pedro, He let me drop my car off after close, and even then still looked at my car. He told me the issues then and there, which others could not. Pedro is nice and was very accommodating - he was able to replace the wheel bearing on our Prius and also help me with a DIY air conditioning repair on our CRV by removing the refrigerant and refilling it after I did the repair myself. My car needed a tune up and I tried to go a couple of other places in Tallahassee but I am a 20 year old college student and woman so I every place I have been to has tried to scam me for 3 times the price of what I should have been charged. I needed help and Pedro's delivered! My teenage daughter used my car to get to a party off of a dirt road (& possibly through a field). She brought it back w a dent in the bumper (with bark lodged in) and a loud grinding noise whenever I turned right. I checked Yelp and saw Pedro's excellent review. I arrived at his shop about 10 minutes before closing. Nonetheless he greeted me like a friend, took a look and pulled my car in. He and his crew jumped to work w enthusiastic teamwork. I was so impressed not only w friendly Pedro's help but also w his relationship w his crew. They laughed at me a little when the sawed out a 2 & 1/2 foot log lodged between my bumper and wheel bed. While backing out of a parking space, she pulled the front bumper off because it became stuck on the concrete parking block/car stop thingy. My husband popped it back in but it was only temporary. I was very nervous because I didn't want to leave her with a car whose bumper wasn't secure. I went to Yelp, combed through the reviews and picked Pedro's. I am sooo glad we chose this shop. They were able to repair it that day for a very reasonable price. On top of all that, Pedro is a very nice, honest man. Pedro is amazing!! My a/c went out in the middle of August (and as you know, Tallahassee in August is so hot you basically can't go outside). Called Pedro and he said I could bring it in immediately even though he was busy. (Other mechanics wouldn't even look at it for 3-4 days). He found a minor valve leak, patched it up, put some extra freon in the car, and told me that because it was such a minor repair, he wasn't even going to charge me for it. Unfortunately, my first and last experience with Pedro's was completely baffling. I was giving them a shot as their location was slightly closer to my new house than my current mechanic that I've had a good experience with. I called to schedule an oil change and also have them look over the truck for any glaring issues, and would be willing to pay for a inspection fee. When the lady told me the availability, I told her I needed to check with my wife to see if it would work out on that day, due to her work schedule. She then immediately followed up that I could bring it in the following Monday, and gave me instructions for the key drop box. I dropped my truck off Sunday evening and spent $30.00 to uber home. By 2pm that Monday I did not hear anything so I called them, and she acted like she had no idea what vehicle I was talking about. After I told her the make and model, she then then said they had it and they would call shortly with an estimate. She called back shortly and asked if I needed a formal inspection or to look it over for any glaring issues and there would be no charge.... the vehicle has been well maintained so I said just look it over. She then called back and said it was ready and there was no cost, I then asked about the oil change cost and she said it would be 2 weeks out. I told her I never would've wasted their time bringing my truck up there for an inspection without the oil change. I've got 2 young kids and being without a vehicle is a major inconvenience for our household, not to mention paying for an uber back home after dropping off the truck. They may be sound mechanics, but I do not trust the communication.... and can't imagine if you were trying to navigate a serious car issue. read more

My Dad's van had an electrical issue with the door windows and instrument cluster, we took it to Pedro's based on a recommendation. 3 days later we hadn't heard from them to see what the estimate for repair might be so he called, we were told they hadn't touched it yet but they would get with him the next day. A week passed, still no call. We called them and they said they were still looking at it and would call the next day. We waited 3 more days then just drove up there. The van was parked out front unlocked. We went inside and were now told they looked at it but couldn't figure out what the problem was, no charge. I followed my Dad home to find out that now suddenly the ac didn't work anymore even though it had been working great when we dropped it off. Ended up taking it to another garage, they found the problem and ordered the part for it...completely fixed in 4 days, no problem. I'm seeing that it was a poor recommendation to go to Pedro's, be careful that they don't return your vehicle in worse condition than they receive it from you. read more

We were on a trip with my Dad to Tallahassee and had a loud spraying sound then white smoke. On the recommendation of my cousin we went to see Pedro. He took a look as soon as we arrived and discovered it was simply a release of excess pressure from the A/C system. He could have easily done some "work" on the car but in the end charged us nothing and sent us on our way. Honest and a nice guy. read more

Awesome and dependable. Took my car in parts in hand for a spark plugs and wire charge. Pedro himself never batty an eye took the car in replaced everything and found a couple other things that was wrong. What would have cost me over a 100 he charged half that. He is a keeper in my book. read more
