We've got a ski-in/ski-out condo perched right on the top of the mountain, and after spending countless seasons carving down the runs, warming up by the fireplace, and celebrating New Year's with friends and family here... it's time to set the record straight. THE RESORT Is it older? Sure. But that's part of the charm. This isn't some polished chain-brand ski lodge--it's rustic, real, and still holding strong. The main lodge has all the essentials, with a side of character. Their main restaurant even features furniture repurposed from an old mansion--how's that for cozy-meets-quirky? THE LODGE EXPERIENCE We've stayed at the lodge itself multiple times before we bought the condo, and it's always been perfectly fine. Not flashy, not fussy--just warm beds, friendly vibes, and a hot tub that transitions from indoors to outdoors (bonus points for that!). There's a pool and sauna as well, and in warmer months, the indoor slide is in play. THE MOUNTAIN This is a small-to-mid-size resort that absolutely holds its own: * 26 trails (45% intermediate, 30% beginner, 15% advanced, 10% expert) * 7 triple chairs, 2 surface lifts * 2 terrain parks, often featuring a half pipe and yes--an actual bus you can ride across. * A two-mile-long trail that delivers a scenic cruise down the slope. * Wooded trails for the daredevils and dreamers. * A tubing hill + dedicated beginner's area that's perfect for new skiers and families. THE FOOD & APRÈS You'll want to grab a slice and a smile at the pizza joint at the base of the hill--perfect for thawing out after your last run. There are other dining options around, and the vibe is always relaxed and welcoming. It's the kind of place where people hold the door open and toast their cocoa at the fire pit. OFF-SEASON ADVENTURES Peek'n Peak isn't just a winter wonderland. In the warmer months, the Adventure Park and ropes course take center stage--with zip lines that send you flying down the ski hill. There's also a fun mini golf course where a legendary family phrase was born: "It's the shot of the day!" (Yes, we still say it every summer.) THE GOLF Up top, you'll find one of the most underrated championship-level golf courses in the Northeast. The views alone are worth the trip, but the course layout is also smart, challenging, and just plain fun. There used to be a lower-mountain course, but that's closed now. THE REAL SECRET The townhomes. They dot the top of the mountain like something out of a Hallmark movie. Ours is perched just steps away from the lift. Ski in, ski out, party in, pass out. It's magic. We've celebrated many New Year's Eves here, and waking up to fresh snow and a slope-ready crew never gets old. PRO TIP The resort recently underwent a management change after some tough financial times. But don't let that scare you. The place has soul. It's not corporate, it's not overrun, and it's not trying to be something it's not. It's authentic, and that's what keeps us--and so many others--coming back year after year. If you're looking for Vail glam or Deer Valley luxury, keep driving. This resort certainly has lots of potential to be a beautiful place. The outside of the building has such a lovely charm to it, that makes you feel very excited to see what it looks like inside! The lobby area has a bunch of gorgeous woodwork and it provides a great greeting upon check-in;however, the folks at the front desk do not. I interacted with two different ladies at the front desk and they were not friendly at all, and one was very annoyed by our simple questions. I feel like someone in that role at a resort, not just some random hotel, should be very welcoming and happy to answer any questions you have. This was just not the case. We began walking back to the room and there was a huge shift in appearance and aroma from the lobby to the halls of the rooms. It smelled like pee in some areas and like mildew in others. There were various stains on the carpets and it all looked quite dirty. I noticed that some rooms had a laminate floor instead of carpet, which is something that really needs done in the whole building. I'm sure they're in a transition between updating parts of the building, so hopefully it will see better days in the next few years to come. The bedroom itself wasn't smelly, so that was a plus. The bed was very hard & old, and the pillows were old too and very uncomfortable. There were some old dried up contacts left around. After I showered, I wiped the floor with a towel in the bathroom and the towel was very yellow. So I'm assuming that was from pee on the floor? Hotels are pretty much always gross, but I guess I had higher expectations because it's a resort and not a cheap one either... Anyways, I am grateful to have had a place to stay with all of my family, especially one SO close to the wedding venue (5 mins from the resort). It was easy to ignore a lot of these things with something so pleasant going on at the time. I just don't think I'd personally come back again on my own doing, or at least not until the resort sees an abundance of updates. They offer mini golf, ziplining, a pool area, a spa, paintball, gemstone mining, and a few other things. I did not get to try any of those due to time restrictions, but it made me happy to see that they have a solid variety of activities for the summertime! What an awesome experience! We rented a condo. The staff bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of after a few issues beyond their control, but still an issue. Our concerns were heard, and our accommodations were altered. We couldn't be more pleased with the response by all staff, including mgmt. It's well run as a business, which I honestly don't expect to find anymore. Sometimes you get the right key people into the right mgmt job and it works... and it shows at PK N PK. This place will be our yearly NYE tradition. Aside from the response, their restaurants and bars stay open until a later time than other ski resorts within 3 hours of PGH. This was much appreciated. Staff all around were tremendous. This is even more tremendous considering the holiday and huge 2' snowfall. Past visits went very well. We have gone day skiing when in Erie, and have rented condos in the past. Each stay was great. The most recent stay warranted a tremendous review. read more

Im rating the Peek from the outside, if you will, as well as the winter activities they hold since I didn't actually stay here. We did about a 2hour drive up the hills in the winter to get here. It was pretty breathtaking but also a bit scary since roads were pretty slick as we've never drove during snowfall. We arrived safely though and upon driving up were pretty amazed at the property's castle like appearance from the outside. Previous reviews describe it as dated for some reason but I thought it had charm and tradition to it. So again not sure if it's just a room by room thing but at least as far as the main lodge goes I found it to be quite cozy. They hold ski classes for youth here and have classrooms for them too. Upstairs they have a cafeteria style spot to grab food and snacks, with tables throughout the room with long windows to glimpse and catch the beautiful views, you can even see the lift and skiers from up top. In the middle of the large space, they also have a cozy firplace going. We sat for a few and got a quick bite of some soft pretzels and fries to munch on. Believe it or not, just on that experience alone I found my drive worth all as it's nothing we see here in our southern states. After that we decided on snow tubing which the kids absolutely loved. It definitely even brought out the kid in my husband, you have 2 hours time to go up and down the slide and he was pretty impressed with how thrilling it felt. It was around 30 for each to ride. I saw many grown ups enjoying and laughing on it too. I couldn't partake but definitely would love to next time as well as the lift seems so worth doing for the view alone, it goes very high up (not sure the altitude) but we also didn't get to experience as we had a limited hours there as it started to get to cold for comfort at night. If you go in winter months you must invest in the whole 9 yards of true winter attire. The cost of skiing seemed worth it to me but didn't feel like buying thermal pants. They even have a small shop in the lodge and you can buy it there if you decide you want to do it. I was fond of the winter activities concept at the resort and thought it to be quite a scenic experience to my eyes. read more

Customers of Peak'n Peek: beware! There is a huge theft problem at this ski resort. Management is aware of this and complicit. This ski resort is a disgrace. I have been skiing here for years with no problem until now: my brand new $1300 skis were stolen from the racks outside the first aid station and rental area. I stepped inside for 10 minutes to change in the locker room and when I returned, they were missing. I spoke to management as well as security of Peek'n Peak. They informed me that this happens "all the time" and they do not have security cameras for the outside of the property. Security told me that they will "show back up". They did not. It is 2026 and the most populated area of their ski resort lacks cameras? This is highly dangerous and irresponsible of this resort. Management and members of the security team were of no help. They took my name and phone number. That's one thing if I was missing my mittens; these were $1300 skis. Shame on this resort, their lack of security, and terrible customer service. I had to cut my day short while I waited for the police to show up and file a report. I will not be coming back to this resort ever again after many long years of giving them business. read more

I think peak and peak is the perfect skiing location for newbies trying to get better at skiing or snowboarding. There's options for day and night skiing, passes are much cheaper than those in Colorado, and the food is pretty cheap for a ski resort! Overall, everyone was so kind to us. My biggest complaint is it's really hard to get from lift to lift as they are spaced out pretty far. Oh.... It's also hard to tell which runs are which colors... but Overall, good time, good memories. read more

We had our family reunion there and I would not recommend it to anyone. Where do I start, first no elevators anywhere! We had elderly people and they had to miss out. When I tell you there are 1000 steps to go anywhere , I am not exaggerating! Dragging our suitcases up stairs is not something you want to do when you packed for a week! The service at our dinners was terrible, they put the wrong food and drink on the wrong people bill. I drank one drink and got a bill for 6 drinks. They came and asked us to figure out who ordered what, that is not our job. They do not take cash. Some of our older members don't have credit cards. The whole place is so old, the carpets are disgusting, thread worn and stink. The whole place smelled of mold. The furniture had holes and was worn out. All in all it was the worst place we have ever had a reunion and would not recommend this place at all. read more

Don't waste your money.... It's s beautiful summer day, BUT...the Pool doesn't open until 11 according to the staff. The brochure says 10. You buy a combo pass and hotel stay, and the "activities " are only good for 1 day. So.....checkin isn't until 4pm. Everything closes at 6pm. (Adventure course , zip line, etc...) So how do I use my passes in 2-3 hours??? Check out is 11am!!!...but nothing opens until 11am!!!! Explain to me how I am able to use my combo pass and enjoy my stay here??? I have a 2-4 hour window to use MULTIPLE amenities that take 2-4 hours to complete. Don't come here. Random rules when things open. Old hotel that hasn't been updated since the late 1970's. It's s nice area with a lot to offer, but this resort is old and outdated. Spend some money on updating this place. People would be more apt to return if they felt they got their money's worth. This hotel is very convenient if you want to walk off the slopes and right into your hotel room. The lobby looks quite beautiful when you first walk in especially at Christmas time. However, this hotel is extremely rundown and in need of repairs. When I'm paying over $500 for a room I expect not to have old dirty worn out furniture that's tethered, torn curtains, Jacuzzi tub that has dirty crap and rust coming out of the Jets. The hotel restaurant staff is very unwelcoming. The menu is not that exciting. The food over at the ski lodge is actually better and cheaper. They did have a full-service bar. Had an amazing time here this weekend! Rented a condo and stayed Friday and Saturday night. Wasn't as clean as it should have been, but nothing to overly complain about. I'd still stay here again for sure. We absolutely loved the pool (although hated the price of the drinks at the pool bar, and of course couldn't bring in your own). Pool had a nice slide and the water was amazing. We snagged the last table and were able to at least sit there and eat our lunch. Only major downside about this resort is the food. It's mediocre at best. We ate at the Gazebo Grill (this was the better of the 2 places we ate at). And we ate at the Bistro 210. I don't know that I'd eat at the bistro again. The manager was nice enough to give us a percentage off our meals, because we were all so disappointed. But still, it wasn't the greatest experience. Overall, I'd recommend this place. For families as well. There's tons to do--most of which we didn't have time for. But a reason to return I guess! read more

He talked over the entire song, and clearly doesn't understand how to talk into a microphone because you can't understand a single thing he is saying l. Had a wonderful experience at peek'n peak Sunday to Monday January 29th or 30th. Offering a deal to stay at a reasonable price with skiing included, making it only 30 to $40 more to spend the night and not have to do a round trip drive from Cleveland. Of course they hope that they get you to use their facilities and give you two free pull passes. We also used the amazing dining room and we're just thrilled with our dinner Enjoyed a turkey cranberry club sandwich and a very unique roasted cauliflower salad. Well not an expensive at $17 for a salad, it was so unique and well proportioned that it was a value for the flavor. The next day we wanted to have the salad again before we went home but they didn't open until 4:00 p.m.. The pool had way too many kids in it on a Sunday night but Monday morning it was lovely. Nice indoor outdoor hot tub and the shower facilities were okay. Beautiful darkly wood rich resort with comfortable couches and amenities everywhere to enjoy. I was excited to celebrate a weekend zip lining, hiking, and tackling the ropes course. I paid extra for my room. Upon arrival to our room, my best friend and I dragged our luggage up to the second floor, as there are no elevators, we began to get situated in our room, we noticed the distinct pungent smell of zoo. It was unbearable. We called the front desk, and they changed our room to the one across the hallway. We unpacked, did the recreational activities as planned. Night arrived. Loud thumping running up and down the hallway. Parents getting lit up in one room, as the kids ran around like lunatics. Next afternoon/ early evening. Noise everywhere. Kids knocked on our door and then ran away, they even took our do not disturb sign off our door. We called the front desk to complain. Their response: "oh okay, we will send security up to your room, and replace your tag." -they never came. The partying continued, patio door and main doors to the hallway remained open as parents congregated and carried on. Their loud voices and music permeated the porous walls and attacked our short lived return from our spa treatments. It is sad that upon arrival I had to sign an agreement to be quiet and courteous to others in the inn. It doesn't matter since nothing is enforced. The decor is extremely dated. At least they should replace the cigar laced curtains to freshen up the place. We attempted to visit the pool, but were turned off by the amount of kids running around everywhere. We will not stay here again. If you want to get away for some R & R, this is NOT the place for you. read more

We were excited about the Midweek Ski Free ski and stay package. We booked one night, for our anniversary. We enjoyed a day of skiing and dinner at the Inn's restaurant was ok. However, a few days after our stay I had a charge from the spa, we never even passed through the spa doors...it was also for a day after we had checked out. I called and the spa, they transferred me to the property's accountant he said that he assumed it was a hold on the card for our room stay, he told me he would look into it and let me know. The next day I get another room package change on my card. I called the accountant back and he said I need to talk to the front desk manager at the Inn. I called several times, left several message and still NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK. It has been over a month. What poor customer service. Kelly from the restaurant call me back asap about the food review I left in the check-out survey email...but it seems the front desk at the Inn cannot return calls and will charge you for extra nights on your stay. I should have paid more attention to the reviews that mentioned similar issues. We will never be back. SO Disappointed read more

We had to cancel our three annual vacations due to COVID. In an effort to get away a couple nights we booked here. We booked a golf package for two nights that included our room, a round of golf per person, $20 food voucher per person per day, pool passes and a S'mores kit. We arrived and played our first round of golf before check in without an issue. Upon check in I was given an envelope with ONE $20 food voucher and two pool passes. I will say they were nice about giving us the $60 in missing food vouchers, but this was only the beginning of the issues we would have. After asking I receive the S'mores kit. My poor boyfriend had to lug our suitcase up a hallway of stairs to get to our room. We were lucky because we were on the "1st floor" so he didn't have to continue up anymore stairwells. The hall to our room had a distinct musty odor. We finally make it to our room and the bathroom ceiling is leaking water. We call the front desk and maintenance comes quickly, but simply says it must be from the people above us. We get extra towels to clean up the water on tile floor. We notice wormy like bugs in our bathroom when cleaning up and try to kill them. ( more return it's a losing battle) At this point we're ready for a later dinner and some cocktails. We are on vacation after all! We order some salads at the bar and are accompanied by many fruit flies. Little do we know the Fall Creek Salad will actually end up being the BEST part of our stay. This bar closes at 9:30. We are not ready for bed... we go to a local watering hole after asking our bartender if anything is nearby. Day 2 I am awoke at 7 AM by the people above us stomping. I manage to get a little more sleep and head down for a quick breakfast. I reluctantly shower in the wormy bathroom. When I check in for our golf game the man at the desk tells me it's $69 a person... I remind him we have a package he says he'll look into it and off we go. After golfing the Upper Course two days we surmise it's not being maintained to the level we expected. Maybe this is because the big tournament won't be played here this year? After golf back to the one and only restaurant where we BOTH get the Fall Creek Salad! It is delicious. We head back to the room and nope, our keys don't work. Off to the front desk... yep they thought we were supposed to be gone. Odd. They say the online reservation system isn't the best.... I assure them I paid over $500 for two nights. They fix our keys quickly, but I'm tired of needing everything fixed. In our room we debate forfeiting the second night. We end up back at the "bar" for a snack and some cocktails then back to the local bar. Check out day I went to grab a coffee for the road but then gave up since the 10 person line didn't move after I stood there 5 minutes... it's just not worth it. For us this was a been there done that experience. I am told the condos are nice so maybe if you'd still like to go stay there. I do NOT recommend the Inn. read more

My dad and I were just discussing that out of all the ski resorts we've been to, including out west, this was our favorite. Peek'n Peak certainly doesn't have the most challenging ski terrain. Some parts of the resort are even a bit run down. The slopes aren't long, maybe half a mountain, if that, but the abundance of facilities around the resort make this place cozier than most anywhere else. Peek'n Peak is quaint. But the slopes are lined with beautiful evergreen trees, making each run a scenic glide through the forest. There are four different lodges where you can stop and rest, each with its own unique character. The Sugar Shack (formerly Pizzaiolis) is a vaulted Italian restaurant with a sports bar and large window for eying the slopes. The Main Lodge is a family friendly cafe, with a massive hearth and adjacent gift and rental facilities. The Retreat is a great place for a beer or a Hot Buttered Rum when you're recovering from the challenges of the Peak's terrain park. Lastly, at the top of the Peak you'll find a new golf pro shop that doubles as another stop for skiers and boarders alike. The Tudor style mansion-converted Inn-at-the-Peak is basically gorgeous. It has a beautiful stone port cochere, a fancy restaurant, gift shop, breakfast eatery, and a pool area with all the amenities: sauna, fitness center, main pool, kiddie pool, an outdoor pool for the more temperate months, and an indoor/outdoor hot tub to boot. This was the highlight of my most recent trip. My date and I loved soaking in the hot tub while watching the snow fall. I stayed at the Camelot Condominiums. They've seen some better days, but recently got new carpet. Just waiting for some of the other elements to get a much needed update. However, the one bedroom with a spiral staircase to the loft suited our needs just fine, making for a comfortable home away from home just off the slopes and within walking distance of the Sugar Shack. So my family stayed at the condominiums over the Thanksgiving weekend it was a beautiful space but there were a few hiccups namely the neighbors/owners at 8441 Canterbury they had several very big dogs some sort of king Corso mix, Who liked to charge (attack) at us whenever we were leaving out the neighbors thought it was very funny to see people run for their lives apparently these dogs had on shock collars not sure of the distance because they seem to get pretty close !!! the only other issue was a mouse was spotted in the basement area on our second night there after calling the front desk,Maintenance came out right away and laid some traps the size that it was really nice to have a getaway from home Peak N Peek offers lots of activities during the winter I'm sure we will all visit again. read more

We stayed at an associated RCI condo here. We visited during the shoulder season. The lodge was closed down including the pool and restaurant m-w which was kind of a bummer. The staff was really sweet and friendly especially James at the front desk. The whole resort has seen better days- and could use some updating especially the indoor pool area. The Peak is offering the MedievAl Feast this fall. The acting troupe & show is excellent. We have followed this troupe for many years. Last year would have been our 3rd year at the Peak seeing the show. 10 seniors from Hamburg, NY with paid tickets. Days before scheduled performance I checked with the Peak about their no refund policy as we had a dangerous storm warning for our area. I had difficulty reaching anyone or to have messages answered to share our weather concern & exploring Peak credit if we couldn't get to show. We did have 84 inches of snow, driving bans, closed roads. We couldn't have traveled the 1 hr to the show even if we wanted. Again a lot of difficulty reaching anyone at the Peak. Finally e-mailed hotel manager who said management was going to do nothing for us. We will never go back to the Peak!! Terrible customer service! Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday. My two sisters and I shared a room. The very first thing I noticed was that there are no elevators. Our room was on the second floor. One of my sisters had had knee surgery a few weeks prior. Thankfully she was able to do stairs if she took it slowly, but it wasn't the best situation. Not only were there no elevators to get to the rooms, but one had to take stairs in the main building to get to the dining room and the spa. I frankly don't understand how they can get away with that, legally. The room was fine. It was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was VERY small. The electrical outlet at the vanity area outside of the bathroom, where one would use a blow dryer or other hair implements, was loose, so we had to use the outlet inside the bathroom instead. We had dinner at the main restaurant, and that was very good. The food was quite tasty, and service was good. Breakfast the next day was not as good. If you wanted to order off the menu instead of getting the buffet, service was very slow, and the food came out lukewarm. If you're going there to ski or play golf, this would be a fine option for lodging. It was not impressive for a ladies' getaway weekend. read more

I stayed at peekin peak from Wednesday to Friday for the first time this week. I am not a skier or snowboarder, I actually hate the cold but I enjoyed my stay at this resort. My boyfriend snowboards regularly (we're from Buffalo and frequent Holiday Valley) and we met up with a large group of friends while we stayed. We stayed at the Inn which had nice rooms, all clean and fresh, and was connected to the amenities like the restaurants, pool area, spa, etc. I think the feel of the entire place is a little dated but it was all still very nicely kept. There's fireplaces to sit around inside and outside throughout the establishment which was nice. There's multiple entrances into the building making it easy to access your room. You can also ski right up to the building from one of the slopes. The first day I stayed in the lodge with a few others who weren't going out on the hills. The lodge area is big with all windows so you can watch everyone outside. There is food for purchase like fried food, soup, sweets, hot cocoa, and more. The skiers and boarders can easily ride up, put up their equipment, then come in for a break. After our group was done riding for the day we hit up Bistro 210 for a few drinks and some food. They have a large dining area and a bar. I really liked their bar which was not standing level, instead you sat at it and the seats were these comfy leather cushioned rolling chairs, loved that! There was only one bartender which handled food orders as well which I thought they should have 2 but maybe because it was only a Wednesday night. Both my boyfriend and I were happy with our meals and our drinks. The following night we went down and placed a take out order which was ready in 15 mins and she brought it out to us as we were sitting by the fireplace. The spinach artichoke dip which came in a bread bowl with pita chips was delicious!!! Afterwards we went to check out the pool which is open until 10pm. They have an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. Being Feb it was too cold for the outside pool but the indoor/outdoor hot tub is connected to one another which I really liked. The pool area overall is large, a lifeguard on duty, and they have items for purchase like swim suits, goggles, ice cream, and more. They will provide towels. There is a seating area with tables and chairs also. I was interested in checking out the spa but the prices seemed way too high, so I passed on that. The second day there I decided I would take a lesson and learn how to ski. It is a 90 min group lesson but it was only myself and one other. Your rental equipment is included and lift pass for the day. We started out very basic like how to put on the skis which I appreciated because I was pretty nervous. We eventually worked our way over to a bigger hill and I finally got the hang of it. The instructor will go at whatever pace is needed. We did not go on the actually chair lift, instead there was a "magic carpet" that you could ride up. After the lesson I felt confident enough to continue on my own for a while. Although the later it got, the colder and icier it got, so I ended it then. Without the professional lesson I do not think I would have made it as far as I did. They have lunar lights tubing, from 4-9pm which lights up the tubing slopes and plays music which we wanted to do that night but I started not feeling well so we did not. I wish we got the chance because it looked pretty cool. On Mon and Thurs is BOGO tickets. On Friday some from the group went out to ride for a while then we packed up and headed out after grabbing a Starbucks coffee at the small Cafe they have. If you're used to skiing or snowboarding in more mountainous places, these slopes are definitely shorter and not as steep (according to those in my group since I'm not a regular to these activities). The black diamonds here are more in the middle of most other places. Compared to Holiday Valley or Kissing Bridge that we're used to, these are much easier. But overall still enjoyable. It was a nice place for me to learn as a first timer. I think coming during the week made it so it wasn't so busy. Our friends have come here for many years, and the times they've come on the weekend the slopes are very crowded and in the lodge there's barely any place to sit. I spent last weekend here for a wedding and had a great time. The rooms were very nice, beds not that great but for two days it did just fine. The food was good and the atmosphere was fantastic. Would defiantly recommend for a long weekend. read more

This review is an update from my 2015 review. My husband and I have come here about every other year for the last six. Every time, we have stayed in the condos which are a little older, but very cozy. This year's condo was no different. It had basic shower/tub bathroom facilities, a nice living room with two couches and new carpeting, and a small but efficient kitchen. It felt comfortable. New for me this year, we tried the tubing. It was awesome! A low intensity extracurricular, I suggest going tubing before skiing so that your legs aren't all jelly. There is quite a bit of "drag your tube, wait on the magic carpet (similar to a moving walkway in the airport), then drag your tube to a slope lane." There are about 7 lanes total, all the same length. I recommend the farthest lane from the magic carpet-it is the least used and has fewer divets and imperfections for a smooth, quick ride. You can go down up to 4 tubes at a time in certain lanes. It is a pretty basic, but still fun to go sliding down the hill. I would like to see an expanded course, but we spent about 2.5 hours out there and got in several turns. I will say, put on your patient hat. Tubing etiquette is varied and you will get knocked in the ankles by dragging tubes and have to quietly roll your eyes as people jump off the magic carpet only to stop right in front of you and block the way. I suggest going early, as the families tend to roll in around the late lunch/dinner time. While this is still a top spot for our family getaway, I must comment that the quality is slipping. They have several casual eateries all over that serve the typical sports complex fare: nachos, fried baskets, mac n cheese, and all the cutesy hot and boozy drinks like the Ski Lift, Snuggler, and Hot Buttered Rum. Once upon a time, they also had one, single, solitary, fine dining experience. It wasn't black tie, but you put on a pair of slacks and a nice top. In the main building it was situated in a gorgeous high ceiling room with a majestic looking fireplace. Elaborate chandeliers would cast a low warm light over the meal and you were served by a waiter who wasn't at his winter break job. Or if he was, this was his 6th season and he knew the specials were and how to pour a glass of wine. This time around, we made our reservation and headed over to what we expected to be the highlight of our dining experiences. They have renovated this dining jewel to make it....well, just like everything else. They tore down a wall that separated the large bar area from the restaurant so now it is one big sports bar. The fireplace, chandeliers, and visual beauty are all still present, but the menu has been pared down to food shockingly similar to every single other clubhouse on the property and there are no main entrees for a vegetarian. While we used to dine right in front of the fireplace,where they have now placed a living room-5 oversized chairs with ottomans and a coffee table. We might have enjoyed an after dinner drink there, but alas, 2 children still bedecked in their ski gear had turned it into their own personal fortress. I watched a gaggle of other children, obviously fresh from the indoor pool, run over to their father stationed at the bar and then feel it was appropriate to meander through the dining room area, because, after all, no one discouraged this behavior. If you make every single location the same, then you lose the ability to make anything special. I am all for a family friendly resort. Keeping one fine restaurant adds, not detracts, from that experience. read more

Like many have mentioned on this app, do not waste your money on this place. We prepaid for the tubing but could not make it due to the blizzard. When we called to cancel they said they could not refund our money but could send us a gift card for the amount. Three weeks later still no gift card when we called they stated it has not been processed yet. They eventually refused to talk to us and sent our call to voice mail. Horrible customer service and I will never spend another cent at that place!! read more

We really enjoyed our stay here. But it was the little things that put me off. Would have been a solid 4.5 stars without these things. We stayed during their fall festival so it was definitely busier than they were used to the rest of the year. I'll give them that concession. First night-went to the bar for dinner. They were out of seafood bisque and wedge salad. The bisque I can see but wedge salad? It's salad! Fridge in the room sounded like it was going to take off every time it ran. I'm a light sleeper and had to unplug it at night. Walls/doors are thin and can hear people who are loud. Next day-housekeeping took our pool passes and voucher for our restaurant credit off the desk! Why would they toss them?! And they had our names on them! Didn't take our used coffee cups nor leave us any clean ones. Didn't replenish our coffee. Took a dirty water cup and didn't leave a clean one. Come to find out they were out of in room coffee packs?! No seafood bisque left again today. Now here's the great things about this place. They have a great outdoor playground. Huge indoor pool, indoor/outdoor hot tub, and outdoor pool with a water slide. Indoor tennis, indoor playground, pool tables. Fun mini golf course. I would love to come here with our kids. Rooms were large and clean. Bar is awesome. Beautiful area. The bad things aside I would definitely come back. read more

This charming, rustic resort is a must do! I stayed here for a Association meeting. We had such a great experience that I will be planning another trip with my family. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and there is so much to do, regardless of the season. It was also a very and easy drive from Pittsburgh. Came to Pknpk for the day. Purchased our lift tickets online. When we arrived at 9am, there was already a long line to redeem our vouchers. No special window open for pre-purchased tickets. While I was waiting, my son took my grand kids to the bathroom. He said it was filthy. How in the world does a bathroom get that filthy that early in the morning?! After waiting in line for what seemed an eternity, they finally opened a pre-purchased voucher window. I really like the skiing here but clean bathrooms are important to me. The lift lines were crowded but moved along quickly. The employees are nice and do try to help when they can. read more

Spa Review: Booked a 25 minute spa pedicure recently, and was asked if I wanted to upgrade to the 55 minute one. Both are not worth the money at all. The experience was not relaxing at all. It was not "spa-like" either. My feet were soaked as normal, but that was about it before my nails were painted and i was under the dryer. My feet are still dry on the bottom, and as i left i felt as if i had just gone to a random place for a polish change on my toes. No massage involved, no getting rid of dead skin, and the worker that took care of me talked about her legal background the entire time which made me uncomfortable. What was supposed to be a relaxing morning turned out to be a waste of money. read more

We scheduled a birthday party for the pool area over a week in advance. The day after we made the reservation (on Sat), we called to ask if we could add pizzas to the party. Called the pool, was transferred to the bistro, was told to ask the front desk to talk with sales, left a voicemail with a call back number since she was out of the office til Monday. No call back or response to another call. Left another voicemail Wednesday, then someone from the pool called to say that it was fine to add the pizzas. Skip to the party Sunday, we get there and the other party before us was finishing up. The kids started swimming while we waited, no one came to change the overflowing garbage can or get the new table cloths on. Pizzas were supposed to be delivered at 4:45. We waited 5 mins then went to ask. They had forgotten to order it so they called the bistro and said it'd be 20 minutes and they would bring it up. At 5:30 we finally gave up and paid for the swimmers and non swimmers. The attendant had no idea where the pizza was and we had to leave. As we were walking down, one of the other attendants was walking upstairs with 2 pizzas. My husband asked if they were for us and she said no and kept on walking. Would not recommend having a party here. read more

We drove 90 minutes to get to Peek n Peak for a Thursday evening of lunar tubing. We never got to tube!!! We stood in line for 2 hours, cold and disappointed. My husband attempted to call to set up a reservation many days prior, but it went directly to voicemail. We got to Peak & Peak at 4:45 & at 5 pm we stood in a line without social distancing, despite the constant PA announcements to socially distance, and without any guidance from management. (We wore our masks). As the line inched forward, a man in a cowboy hat started collecting people and moving them to a separate line. These were hotel guests, who had preference (again we were not notified that this MAY HAPPEN on the website). At approximately 6:45 we neared the ticket both (maybe 20 people out) and a worker came out to answer questions from the group of us nearest the booth. She explained that it was true the 60-80 people currently in the "special line" got preference, and that they sell 26 tickets every 15 minutes. She also shared that the back of the line was told they may not even get on, and that she hoped they would sell tickets to us by 7:15. (we were only 20 people out so I am positive that the rest of the line didn't get in!) She offered to advocate for us to get tickets, but was not successful. We were also told it shuts down at 9 pm regardless and that weekends were much worse. She told us they don't do online reservations due to the high volume they have. No sh*t!!!! TOTALLY unorganized. We contemplated waiting another cold 25 minutes, until we saw a group go to the man in the cowboy hat selling tickets out of the back of the ticket booth to a group (without masks and having a beer). We decided to leave at 7pm. The 2 hours we spent in line was spent chatting with 10 other unhappy customers about how poorly things were done. ..............................The DOH should pay a visit..................... Last night we went to Holiday Valley..... 1- They take reservations online for 2 hour slots to allow MORE people to enjoy the fun. Does Peak & Peak....NOOOO! 2- All employees had masks on and several of them were heard 'reminding sledders' to put their masks on. Did Peak & Peak....NOOOO! 3- There were several employees throughout our 2.5 hour visit that were friendly and helpful. They were everywhere & visible..... Does Peak & Peak....NOOOO! 4- There was an employee at the bottom of the 'magic carpet' telling you when you could step onto the carpet to allow for social distancing. Does Peak & Peak......NOOOO! We were in line like sardines! 5- Ticket lines were so fast at Holiday! Less than 5-6 people in front of us and maybe 10 behind us. Were Peak & Peak lines fast? Nooooo....we were in line for 2 hours and still never got to sled! 6- Everything was methodical and organized at Holiday...... But... NOT at Peak & Peak!!!! 7- Safety... Hmmm. The 2 hours that we were there they started out with maybe 12 lanes on sledding. By the time we left there were only 7-8 because they deemed the other lanes unsafe due to icing (Warmer days melted the snow & when it cooled at night turned to ice.) Very safe & contentious for their customers.... Did they do this at Peak & Peak?................... WE DON'T KNOW BECAUSE WE STOOD IN LINE FOR 2 HOURS AND NEVER GOT TO SLED!!! 8- Will we ever go back to Peak & Peak... ? NOPE! The ONLY thing they had that Holiday did not were the fun lights.... But hey, we're not even sure if they are fun because WE WAITED IN LINE FOR TWO HOURS!!!!!!! read more

Hotel Room not Ready for Humans. I Love giving positive reviews, so for me to give a negative one like this, it had to be disturbing. My wife and I really wanted to like our weekend getaway, and for the most part, it was nice, from smiling staff to excellent bartenders, to delicious dinner, we were happy. But our room felt more like a camping trip than a hotel. From smell that stuck in our throat, to badly maintained and filthy furniture, to no hot water then next morning. Then in the middle of the night, a beeping sound started somewhere in the ceiling, that would not go away (probably the hot water tank lol) If I wasn't so tired, I would have slept in my car. Let's talk about the smell. I'm guessing because they were full for harvest fest, they may have opened rooms that were not ready, it smelled like a combo of mold and bug spray. What's interesting is that we heard others coughing in rooms adjacent, so my guess is we were not the only room. On a positive note, the people working at the hotel were nice, kind and tried to accommodate, but with a full hotel, it was stay where we were or sleep in the car. We had our retreat at the resort. I have never been here before. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. I like that they allow dogs to come to the resort. The Soarin' Eagle was the perfect amount of thrill and fun. The ski lift ride was relaxing and had a good view. We had lunch at the Golf Course and the house made chips were yummy. Then we had dinner at Bistro 210, the drinks were well made and the flavor of the salmon was well done. It is a ski resort, so they have the salt/snow spots on the carpet and ski lodge feel, but overall it is a hidden gem for nice outdoorsy getaway that is family friendly. read more
