After a not so great experience at Red Door we tried our luck at Phatman. It was my first time here and it was pretty neat. An entire store dedicated to skateboarding, snowboarding and a section for frisbee golf. There was quite a big selection and it wasn't busy which was a plus. The guy working was very helpful and didn't put a lot of pressure on us to buy. My significant other needed a different size in snowboard boots and apparently the new stock is yet to come in. We will be back soon and are happy to support this place. Another unique feature of this spot is that they have an indoor skate park. read more

Was expecting more helmet options. We got one that was decent and the guy was nice but more than half a dozen choices would be nice.

Nicest guys ever! I called ahead of time to see if they had elbow/knee pads and wrist guards, which they did, and then someone was ready to help me out as soon as I stepped in the shop. Great selection of honestly everything. Awesome array of stickers, cool branded clothing, and dope shoes. The guy who helped me out, think his name was Frank, was super helpful with everything. I'm brand new to skateboarding and he was able to answer any questions that I had as well as give recommendations of places to go to practice. Will definitely be coming back here! read more

Great shop, especially if you're into disc golf. They have 5+ major brands, PGA approved and dozens of styles to choose from. They also carry a bit more brand paraphernalia like hats and disc bags, which is great. The store is pretty relax, with the hours today (Saturday) reading they would be open around 11ish. Not bad, that's pretty chill of them to have a relaxed approach to when the store opens. The kid opening it got there around 11:02, so they're pretty close. As someone who is typically chronically late, I find it acceptable as long as you're trying for on the dot. I don't do other sports they carry, but they have plenty of skate and snow boards. The kid was really helpful to the Dad and son who walked in directly behind me and my friends, but then there wasn't anyone able to check me out when I needed to leave. I left money with my friends and dashed out to make yoga. So it would be cool to have 2 people open the store, but really...1 is fine. Just don't go there if you're pressed for time like I was, but that's my fault, not Phatman's. I'll definitely be back! Easy to find, lots of parking, tons of places to eat around it, and SO MANY DISCS TO CHOOSE FROM!! :D read more

I came here to buy a longboard skateboard as a present. The staff was very helpful and not overbearing or pushy. I know next to nothing about skateboarding but I was shown numerous choices at different prices and I was not shown the priciest model right off the bat. The store is well stocked and clean and you won't feel pressured or hovered over if you just want to browse. read more

Brought my 13 year old daughter here to get her hooked up for ski/snowboard club at school and it was a great experience. Dude that helped us was great. Walked us through the whole process of everything needed and didn't try to up sell us on anything. Came back the 2nd day to pick up the snowboard from its waxing and they have an adorable dog that comes up and greets you! I'll be back for anything needed going forward! read more

I heard through the grapevine that they had a new shipment of golf discs in, and sure enough, there was an awesome selection. Innova, MVP, Discraft, and Latitude64, as well as several other small brands. They had ordered in a ton of different plastics, so whether you are looking for a better grip or a stiffer dome, you can do one better than the internet and get a feel for what you'll be throwing. I was looking for a new putter, and one of the guys there came over to help dig through the different stacks of putters for just the type of plastic I described, and we even tossed a couple back and forth across the showroom floor to get a feel for the release and float. He also advised they're getting in some portable baskets so, that is great news! This place will become a regular haunt for me, I'm sure. read more

They are quite low right now on golf disc inventory. (Not their fault with the COVID crap going on). Even with that said the staff was super great and very helpful!!! I recommend anyone looking for skateboard, snowboard, and disc golf equipment to head here!!! I will be back! read more

I had the pleasure of stopping by this shop after I was done with my internship by UB. I picked up a Quest board online as a starter board and after a few weeks I felt like I was ready for an upgrade. I came in asking for an education on a good board to cruise around downtown Buffalo in. The owner introduced himself and asked me a couple of questions, then showed me some of the differences between the boards for cruising, trick and long. Altogether I think we chatted for almost an hour. I ended up picking up a Landyachtz Switch Skull 35" and I'm quite excited for my upgrade! So much faster and smoother than the Quest. I asked the owner if it was ok to shred a little bit in their back parking lot, he said sure and even got his own board to ride a little with me! ... I was too excited to wait until I got home. He showed me some tips on proper footwear, how to improve my technique, and even got questions answered for general maintenance and upgrades for the future. I have been coming to the shop for 3 years now. I've picked up everything from skateboards, snowboards, trucks, wheels, bindings, boots, ninja suits, gloves, hats and everything else I needed. I picked up a jones all mountain twin 154 with some nice mission's and the guys sets it up with my equipment exactly how I like it and gave it a nice wax. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff! Suck a rude seller. I went to this store with my friend today, and they end up selling nothing to us. Both my friend and I were mad. The owner of this store won't help adjust the binding for my shoes and kept saying " I will not adjust them for your shoes unless you are sure that you are going to buy them." How can I buy it if I don't know whether they will fit for my shoes? My friend was tying convincing me to buy it since they are "professionals" who can do it properly, and my friend was going to buy a snowboard and a pair of binding too. But the seller's attitude was so bad that he urge one of his seller not to help pick what my friend was going to buy. He said that he has no problem selling all of the goods he has since this winter is a great one and everybody is going to snowboarding, but I don't think he knows how to sell things and this store is a perfect place for customers who want to waist time and to be insulted by a seller. U can get the same stuff much cheaper on online shop. read more
