It is located on the 11th floor, and you'll need to be buzzed up. Michelle and her assistant (?) greeted me at the door with a smile and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I was seated on a large couch and we were ready to begin. Michelle has a number of props to use, and seems to focus on natural lighting (which is probably the best in my unprofessional opinion.) There are several widows lining the studio with a white sheer curtain which sets the backdrop for several of the photos. In addition to this, she has really big expensive lights that she does some pro-looking photographer stuff with. The thing that comes to mind is those Cover Girl commercials where they're doing a photo shoot (duh Michael.) There are also different pattern backdrops and small props such as crazy stripper high-as-hell heels and other cool stuff. Michelle and her assistant will combine their artistic vision + experience with your desires and vision. We saw the untouched up photos today and were happy with several of them. I will try to remember to update this review once I see the three touched up photos, but will probably forget.

My husband and I were pretty uncomfortable with the idea of having a day where all eyes were on us, and yet she made the whole experience so comfortable and helped us overcome our awkward fears. She was fantastic at giving subtle direction to capture just the right moment. She also helped navigate a rainy day in Central Park for the shoot, helping to hold umbrellas and working to avoid downpours to keep my hair and makeup decent (bless her!) After our engagement shoot, we consulted with her on our wedding day, the schedule, the 'must haves' on our photo list and that we were mostly hoping to capture us and our guests having a great time dancing. Erica came prepared and flexible as changes arose in pre-wedding shoot venues. She had a great eye, stopping us occasionally in front of cool buildings/graffiti in Williamsburg to take portrait and couples photos. She moved quickly through all of the 'must haves; she knows what she is doing and is efficient! Additionally, I (stupidly) did not prepare her that I would have a gown change during the evening; regardless, she was ready to capture my 're-entry'. She was truly there at all of the right moments without feeling invasive at all. She was also extremely patient with my mother, who suffers from dementia, giving small and clear adjustments to avoid my mother being confused or overwhelmed. We just received our photos from the wedding day, and wow... they are stunning. My husband and I agreed that we would be happy if we had a handful of good ones, but we are astonished by how much she was able to capture so beautifully! Amber Marlowe Blatt is a nice person who needs to find a new line of work…read more I'll post a full review of my experiences with her, but here is the quick summary: - We hired her twice. The first time, she did great work. We were happy. - We hired her again a year later, to take family photos. She did the shoot. She showed me some of the work through the viewfinder and said it was wonderful. And then she called me a week later and told me that she had LOST *ALL* OF THE IMAGES! Gone. Zero. I do marketing for a living and have hired perhaps twenty photographers in my life for over a hundred photo shoots. This is the first time I had ever heard of someone losing the work for a day's session. It just doesn't happen, because it is the ultimate badge of disgrace for a photographer. So what happened? She said she was sharing her studio with some folks doing a different project, they had taken a memory card from her desk, thought it was blank, etc. There are some serious issues here -- why is someone who bills as a professional letting other people grab memory cards from her desk? Why is she selling her time for hundreds of dollars and then pulling the memory card out -- representing not just her efforts but the time and energy a family takes to coordinate schedules and dress the kids -- and then not bothering to push the write protect tab? Why is she shooting on digital media and not bothering to make a copy of the work before charging in on other projects? Or, if she is running to an emergency, can't make a copy, you might at least write on the card with a Sharpie and say "do not use" or write the date of the session or write anything? Anything at all? We could debate this over and over. But someone who can't secure their digital work should not be shooting events for a living. You cannot "redo" a wedding. You cannot "redo" a birthday or bar mitzvah or other major life event. If you care about getting quality work, you should not be hiring this person. So that was the worst phone call ever -- "Hi, it's Amber, whoops, sorry, nothing left." And then, to add insult to injury, she apologized and offered "to do the shoot again without charging us." Are you f'ing serious? That was basically offering nothing. Of course she can't charge us for a second shoot. We had paid for the first shoot, spent our time and energy, and gotten zip out of it. Through her clear and pure incompetence. And then she did the second shoot and the images were poor. We couldn't and didn't use any of them. There were even instances in the second shoot when I said things to her like "are you sure we are centered under the sign" and Amber said yes, yet we were not. Bad image. Same thing with the sunlight -- "are you sure there won't be too much shadow at this time of day?" Amber said we were okay. We were not. She clearly didn't want to do the shoot a second time, or take the time to make it right, when she knew we weren't going to use her again. So -- sorry Amber. Nice person. Needs a new job. Ben

Her style seems so fluid- not posed or static, capturing the true 'feeling' of the wedding day. From first contacting her until now, we could not have been happier.
