She didn't sit down during the appointment, which lasted about 5 minutes. This made me feel like she was rushed and I was part of an assembly line. She gave me about 6 numbing shots before giving me a biopsy. Once she started removing flesh, I told her I was feeling pain. She immediately told the assistant to get more numbing shots. Shouldn't she have made sure I was numbed before cutting me?? Then I had to get like three more shots, and then I felt more pain and I told her. She said that was "just the cauterizing"! Every time you get numbed the doctor should test to ensure proper numbing before starting to hurt you. read more

Staff (Diana) was rude and incompetent. Dr. Albrecht is not thorough in her checking for skin cancers and I'm a skin cancer patient. She seems rushed and overwhelmed. What's worse is the last time I was there, she told me to wait till the office called me, which they never did for a check up. Probably the the most poorly managed office at PAMF and Sutter. Being the fact that the way they treat the patients, I can understand why the office lost their new Doctors to another practice. Don't bother calling. They do not have any new doctors to see you. I have seen her on and off for years. She is usually upbeat, friendly, and helpful. PAMF doesn't allow her and most of its physicians to use cutting edge treatments, so stuff she does might be a bit behind the private clinics. I had an appointment scheduled and accidentally canceled via the text notification. I immediately called the office directly and they said no problem happens all the time. They offered to confirm the appointment for me. When I went they said my appointment was canceled and I would not be seen. I could come in two weeks since the Dr was going to be out the following week. I said I just needed to see the Dr for 5 min since this was a referral from urgent care to look at a skin flare up I was currently experiencing. Coming back in two weeks was not going to do me any good. They offered to check with the Dr. She refused to see me so time to find another Dermatologist I guess. read more

I have seen Dr. Albrecht for several years, and have received good care. She is willing to take the time to discuss issues with me, and has provided good treatment. However, I have had serious problems with her staff. In particular, on one occasion I received Blu U Light Photodynamic Therapy. The assistant who performed the treatment applied the kerastick, and after turning the light on, *left the room*. I experienced an extremely painful reaction. The treatment is known to be painful, but my reaction was extreme. This went on for many minutes, and it was clear when the assistant returned that she was shocked to discover what had happened. I considered filing a complaint about her unethical behavior of leaving the room, but in the end I just changed doctors. read more

Augh, I wish I had read the reviews before I made my appt. Did not like her manner, she doesn't listen or attempt to figure things out - no intellectual curiosity, zero and she's rude. And, yup, it's her way or the highway as someone else pointed out. She gave me a cream to try since I think she thought I was taking up too much of her time with a couple questions and just wanted to get rid of me. The said cream was awful for my skin, turned my face beet red, and felt burned the rest of that day and the next. When I sent a message to her to ask if I could try something else, she just told me to refrigerate the cream and try it again, only apply it when it is cold. Yeah, right. I've seen Dr. Albrecht for several years and have been very pleased. She's professional, knowledgeable and kind.

The office is easy to find; easy to park. Good grade on this; my car is happy. I've always shown up on time for my appointments with Dr. Peggy Albrecht-- but she is always (really, ALWAYS) late, even when I schedule my appts. @ beginning of the day. I have no idea what consistently causes her to be so late. I've always had to waste 15 to 20+ minutes waiting for her to appear. Well, is it worth the wait? Dr. Albrecht appears by a referral and her Duke credentials to be knowledgeable. But I consistently find her rushed for time (maybe because she is always behind schedule), somewhat arrogant, unabashedly abrupt and dismissive, minimally informative , and incomplete in her verbal and written therapy instructions. She is much less trustworthy than other dermatologists--including others in her group whom I have seen for various common dermatology symptoms. After every office visit with her, I've had to do online research on my own to understand my symptoms and her diagnosis, evaluate the potential treatments, as well as to perform the therapy that she recommended and/or prescribed. How about followup by her staff? Rare, or nonexistent. Honestly, I'm no dummy, and I don't have these experiences with the other Drs. on my healthcare team. These experiences w/ Albrecht raise the obvious question, why choose her? Frankly, I often appreciate a Dr. who is a "technoid" vs. one who is "a 'people person". But sadly for any patient who could benefit from her training, Dr. Albrecht offers neither of these attributes. She seems to me to be a self-involved automaton, neither "present" or empathetic. I would not recommend her--whether or not you have a schedule to keep. read more

This doctor knows nothing. I went in for several reasons; to remove a skin tag, a wart, and to address newly formed vitiligo. She successfully removed the skin tag but the wart came back and the nitrogen she used to freeze it off left a scar. In addition, she unsuccessfully treated the vitiligo and told me it doesn't ever go away on its own...however mine is fading by itself with no treatment. Her bedside manner is awful; Abrupt with no in depth answers. Everything is yes or no in her terms. She looks to be about 70 years old so I don't think she has kept up to date with any dermatological advances and doesn't seem to have any breadth of knowledge. Find someone else. read more

Unfortunately, Dr. Albrecht recommended and performed a procedure that made my skin worse than it was before. To make matters worse, the good doctor then refused to see me (look at her work) or even talk with me about it. Furthermore, the support staff gave me incorrect information both before and afterwards the procedure, as well. Instead, I was sent to another doctor in the practice, who kept trying to make less of what Dr. Albrecht had done. It seems that making money is at the forefront of this PAMF doc and true customer service is non-existent. Ugh! This is my first "negative" review that I have written on yelp and it's disappointing. I have gone to Dr. Albrecht since I was a little girl. She was always really sweet, supportive around her perspective of healthy skin care and protection. I don't have that experience any longer and will not be going back. Dr. Albrecht gave me her word that I would not be charged for a small procedure because it was "exploratory" and a couple days later I received a bill of $278.00 I knew there was a mistake and called to have a conversation. Her team members said I would not be able to speak with the Dr., basically ever, unless I get another appointment. I spoke back and forth with her nurse and she said That the Dr. "Didn't remember our conversation, so i will have to pay for it." I spoke with the management, and they blamed the insurance. As a customer, I am left with the experience that Dr. Albrecht is not her word and does not get the impact it has on others, no responsibility taken, no integrity, and customers are just dollar signs $$$. Palo Alto Medical foundation in general doesn't care about there patients and it makes sense why I experience a new Dr. :( read more

I agree with all the poor reviews. To say she is "HORRIBLE, Short and Rude" are kind words for her. I went to the woman years ago and never had such an uncomfortable experience. I can't believe PAMF has not done something about her after reading all these negative reviews. And I'm sure there have been more negative surveys returned. Extraordinarily rude and uncaring. This doctor will not let you finish a sentence. Instead she tries to guess what you were going to say and then interrupts again. Felt like zero empathy, compassion or caring. She would not listen to or answer my questions. Instead she injected and then cut my face right under my eye without giving me any preparation for what she was going to do or what the results would be. She seemed to go out of her way to be dismissive. I was there on an urgent recommendation from another doctor I guess for potential skin cancer. I have no more information now than I had before I got there. When I tried to ask her question after she cut my face, she told me that she has no time because there are other patients and that I should schedule another appointment. I told her that in my experience it takes months to get an appointment and she told me that that is simply not true even though I was speaking to my personal experience. Yelpers beware! I went in for a 15 minute oppointment and came out with a $900 bill. All this doctor cares about is making money. I disputed one charge, had two phone calls unreturned, and finally after writting a letter I got a response. But they already turned my account over to collections! Over $100!! I had a similar experience of overcharging and wrong coding on my bill. For a 15 minute visit to check my moles and remove skin tags it totaled almost $700. $317 of that in which my insurance wants me to cover since they coded it cosmetic instead of surgical. She was fine as a doctor during the visit but there is no follow up and you can not even get a return call from the doctor just the nurse. read more

Peggy has been my doctor for a while and she is always attentive and listens well. That is very hard to find, but she has always been a great doctor. More recently she saw my daughter and took the time to discuss issues that bothered her and thought of tests 100 other doctors had not thought of and referred us based on the tests. There would not be even a 1 star rating but I had to in order to post.....please people read on......There is no way to describe what I just learned about from listening to my Mother's experience at this office by this Dr. just this very week. It is horrible She went in for a procedure for a bump on her back while it was still red and very tender and painful this Dr. did not even bother to properly numb her area and was giving her shots while she was literally screaming in pain. Still today she is crying and upset by this experience She was being held down by someone else in the room she could not see because she was face down. After this horrible ordeal she was told she did not have to come back. WHAT this is a procedure that involved a wound and there was a large pad....you don't have to come back to check for any further infection or the after procedure care!!!!! This is outrageous. I am completely infuriated with this type of care. She is almost 80 years old and was told she has to change bandages she told you she did not have family close and you told her not to come back! You even said that she was going to thank you for this. What lack of empathy and concern and even the basics of what a Dr. stands for. Just listening to her cry and so totally upset and hurting this is below the standards of what would be expected from a Doctor. She even told you of a horrible prior experience of not being numbed properly before a previous procedure and she specifically told you about that and yet you still did not choose to be delayed and instead just created trauma all over again.
