Cool creative name aside, Ian is part of a very small percentage of barbers that truly know what they're doing and you can tell he has a lot of pride in it. Very friendly, and has an impeccable attention to detail. I've been to him a handful of times now, and gotten traditional clipper fades and also razor fades. He's up to date on all the latest styles BUT!!! I'm sure if you walked in and "wanted" an outdated hair cut he'd be happy to hook you up. Each and every single visit of mine has been perfect. I can't say the same about any of the dozens of other hair places I've been to in the area. That's why he's super deserving of 5+ stars, cause of his consistency. Thumbs up!!!! Nate is just a good guy. Does a great job cutting hair. Good conversation and very accommodating with making future appointments. The vibe of the shop is laid back/chill which is exactly what I was looking for. I wish they did a full treatment with hair wash, etc but I haven't really seen that much around here. And that being my gripe is more of a wish list than a complaint. I definitely recommend Nate for a great haircut and will be seeing him soon for my next one.

And a claim that my "hair integrity" was paramount according to the owner, but my results were damaged ends and muddy hair color so the "integrity" is just a buzz word for these folks with absolutely NO knowledge of how to maintain hair integrity. No one in this salon has ANY integrity and unfortunately zero talent. They are willing to take your money whether they can achieve your desired results or not. Do your homework and avoid Haven Salon. After my first cut and color with Susan, I knew I could quit looking for a stylist. I'd found mine. I recently moved to Kansas City, and have found that finding a new stylist has been the hardest part of the move. Based on a referral, I started out going to one of the best salons in southern Kansas City. I've been nothing but disappointed, here and at several other salons. I wasn't too surprised to have to pay more in the "city", but I'm really surprised that even when I paid 2x for my color, and 50% more for the style, I was getting styles and color that didn't even come close in quality to what I got at Panache. I guess I have difficult hair, with swirls and cow licks in difficult places, and very thick hair. Not to mention the fact that I insist on having a wash and wear style that doesn't require anything more than blow drying with a round brush. Susan was always great to listen to my needs and give me a style that looked great and met my requirements. Every time I go back to Michigan, I call Susan and ask her to do a "hair intervention" to fix the bad cuts I've been getting in Kansas City. I'm moving on to stylist #5 in KC, but I always know that Susan will be there for me when I go back in a few months. I've always felt it wasn't worth it to cut corners with what I spend on my hair. When my hair looks good, I feel good about myself, and project a lot more confidence. That's so important in this job market. My experience in Kansas City has really driven that point home. In the end, I spend more on my hair trying to get a bad cut or bad color fixed than if I spent a little bit more in the first place. When I was in Michigan I always felt that Panache was a good value, a good investment in me. After my experiences here in KC, I am even more certain that Panache is an excellent value, delivering great styles and color at a reasonable price.
