I am just about to start a major kitchen reno…read moreand didn't want to eat take out every single night, so I decided to give Chef Swole a try before the reno starts. I have to say, my husband and I are VERY pleased and have gone past our one week "trial run" and are now entering our third week. First, I feel like I spend wayyyy more money than this at Whole Foods every week, and only get a few meals out of it. Second, I am a working mom, and by the time I get home after being stuck in traffic, cooking is the last thing I want to do. Dinner is done, and I can spend more time with my daughter when I get home. Third, the food is really, really good. Ingredients are high quality and what I'd make at home if I had the time. Fourth, portions are awesome. We signed up for the deluxe, and I split my meal with my daughter (15 months old) and I am more than full. My husband is always full off of one meal too. Sometimes for lunch we will even split a container in half and be fine (and we get more meals out of it!)

I've ordered 3x now I believe and I would have to say the last delivery was the absolute best. I…read morelove Asian foods and he hit it out the park that week. Food taste: In other weeks, I've had to add my own sauces. I always order the deluxe portion for 20% more food because the regular size is too small for me. I cook and add more veggies because most prepared foods don't give me enough. The only thing I needed to add to these last meals were a pinch of salt, but this makes sense because the food is made for all types of people. Delivery: I love the fact that the food is delivered to my doorstep. They deliver on Sundays and seem to be providing service every other week now. There are 4 options available but you can adjust how many servings you want of each meal. Service: No issues and I get a prompt response each time.

I've been to one of Guy's chop houses before but haven't experienced true Flavortown, the menu looked like the epitome of Guy in food form lol! I ordered the Bacon Mac n Cheese Burger, fries, and fried pickles. It's always kind of iffy ordering fried foods for delivery because you're not quite sure how they'll hold up by the time they get to you so I was very happy both the fries and pickles were still very crispy when they showed up! The fries were even the double fried type which are the freaking best! All of the items showed up in cute little Guy Fieri boxes which I'm sure helped in the food keeping its integrity by the time it got to me. The ranch that came with the pickles was very good too and packed a punch! The burger was great as well and not super overwhelming which can happen with some of those off the wall burgers. It was a decent amount of mac n cheese on top but not to the point where it was spewing all over the place. The bun was nicely buttered too! Overall, this meal is exactly what I would expect from Guy - fun, funky, and approachable. If you're looking for some comfort bar food, this is definitely the place to try!

Advertised as an award-winning burger, the Bacon Mac N Cheese Burger looks like money. It has SMC (super melted cheese), mac n cheese, bacon, LTOP (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle), crispy onions, donkey sauce- all cradled by garlic butter brioche. Shut the front door! Flavortown Kitchen is only available by delivery and it came in a cool, vibrant, cardboard packaging to reflect Guy's tv personality. Turned on the tv to watch Guy's Grocery Games while I dive into my burger and I'm instantly in Flavortown! The burger is delicious! It is packed with yummy goodness. The burger patty is perfectly seasoned and paired with al dente mac n cheese and crispy onions. Everything you'd want in between two burger buns is here. The butter brioche was my favorite- light and pillowy but hearty enough to hold in all the burger goodness. This is guilty pleasure, indeed. I can't tell what the donkey sauce was- all I can decipher was mayo. All in all- I'm digging this burger.

To start, I reached out to Chef Bernard based on the Yelp reviews to see if he could prepare a romantic dinner for my husband and I on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. He was available and agreed to serve us. From the start, he was very professional and communicated well. He sent me sample menus with options galore. If there was something on the menu that I wanted mixed up a little, he had no objections. My husband is a very 'simple' eater so I wanted to know if the Chef could also prepare something 'simple' like Potato Au Gratin. Whew....he did and it was sooooooo good! He arrived at our home in what I call his mobile kitchen (because he had everything in it that one could imagine), introduced himself to us and got down to business. We had a few small plate items, entree and dessert. He talked to us while he prepared the meals and it simply felt like he was a friend. It did not feel weird or awkward having him in our kitchen at all. It was great! He gave us tips on cooking at he prepared meals and spoke to us more about who he was (in and out of the kitchen). Some of the items we enjoyed were: 1. Pork chimichangas 2. Cajun eggrolls 3. Peking duck rolls 4. Filet (cooked to order) 5. Potato au gratin 6. Broccoli w/cheese 7. Cheese blintzes wi/ a strawberry wine sauce 8. Crab cakes Everything was perfect! He served us well and we could not have asked for a better experience. We are looking forward to more dinner parties with him in our home. If you are looking for a chef to help you make a memorable event, Chef Bernard is your answer. He also prepares weekly meals for you or your family. My husband really enjoyed the food and he is still raving about it. We tried items we typically would never try in a restaurant. We loved it and we are true fans!

I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house. We look forward to ordering each week!

Who knew that you could get Asian specialty items and Japanese kitchenware and gifts in the middle of the city! Why YES, I need another mug in my cabinet - especially one of a panda climbing the rim of a bamboo pole!! In the grocery area, they sell all sorts of spices, rices, teas, salts, jams, drinks and sundries in their tiny basement area. Once you're done shopping, head upstairs and grab a sushi roll if you're hungry. At Happy Hour, they are ~$6 each. I tried the hamachi yellow tail, veggie roll and salmon roll. The rice was a little bit on the wetter side (doesn't have that chewy spring that you look toward to) and the fish freshness was just OK. We chased it all down with a crisp sauvignon blanc! There's also a menu of Thai items, including curry and noodles. I'll have to try that next time. Perhaps that is why their chopsticks are so big and not the delicate Japanese kind. Made it hard to pick up the sushi rolls. The service was quick and the seating area included these wooden seats that had these weird grooves - so not the most comfy to lounge on. You come here for a quick bite and to shop, so you don't need to sit long anyway. But otherwise, love the one-stop-shop idea!

My students raved about the food and we had lots of leftovers, the portions were generous and the service was superb. Eliza catered the meal just beautifully. I know she sources many of her organic ingredients from her own large garden and you can really tell the high quality of the ingredients. She also worked with me through several e-mail exchanges beforehand to keep us within budget. The value of her meals is exceptional, meaning, you simply won't find better food for less money. She is the best. I literally begged her for her recipe for carrot salad, and she gave me not only the recipe but a bunch extra of it the following year so that I could take some home. I ate it for breakfast the next day, which is not what I usually eat for breakfast! Eliza is amazing. You won't be disappointed.
