I stopped here on my way home from my doctor appointment. It's actually in the opposite direction of my way home. I always stop here for lunch after the doctor appointment and eat in. This time I ordered carryout. I got my usual pork egg foo young. Since soup only comes with the lunch combo if you eat in, I ordered hot and sour to take home. The person who took my order was very nice. It did not take long. I asked for extra gravy which was no problem. It had your usual Chinese decor. I made a stop on the way home and left the food in the car. It is 25 miles from my house. When I got home and took everything out of the bag it was still warm. The soup was hot and so was the egg foo young,rice and egg roll. I wish they were closer to my home. It's in Fort Pierce and I live at the southern most part of Port St Lucie. We've been hearing good things about Peking Chinese restaurant so we decided to give it a try. What we heard was right, the food is good and the service was good and they serve ice cream for dessert. We were a table of four people. We all had combination plates. With that you get soup eggroll main dish, fried rice or white rice and dessert ice cream. This is a very good deal. We've visited here on and off for years and enjoy the consistency of this place. The service is always really good, and the food is delicious. We both had lunch portions along with an appetizer of beef on a stick. The beef was very tender and flavorful. My husband had Szechuan shrimp. He appreciated that the tails were removed from the shrimp to make it easier to eat and said it was really good. He might ask for it to be a little spicier next time, but he typically enjoys very spicy food. Along with the shrimp, the lunch came with an eggroll (very good) and he had the hot and spicy soup, which he also gave a thumbs up to. I had the scallops and vegetables. Normally, I've had this dish with shrimp but decided to be a little different today. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The vegetables are not overcooked, and the egg drop soup that came with the lunch was nice and hot. There is no question about the lack of good Chinese food on the treasure Coast. In fact, we moved up here two years ago, and we still travel down to West Palm Beach when we want Chinese food. However, we were up in Fort Pierce recently and came across the Chinese restaurant on US one. Of course I went ahead and looked at the restaurant up on yelp and I have received decent reviews. Walking in there is minimal atmosphere. I always judge a restaurant by the washrooms and this was immaculate. It reminded me of a Chinese restaurant where I grew up in Brooklyn. The food is delicious. It still does not meet the ranks of New York, but it's not far away. The service is extremely welcoming, and the menu is diverse as well. Whether you're having lunch or dinner there they have great combination specials. My favorite is the egg foo young. You received two huge pancakes that were delicious. Went to the Peking Restaurant last night with a friend I ordered the Orange Chicken w/side of fried rice etc.. and my friend ordered the Garlic Chicken w/the fried rice as well. She took a taste of the rice and stated, "something doesn't taste right with this rice." So like a fool I took a taste and when smelled it and something wasn't right with it. After we both pushed the rice aside. My friend said something to the waitress and as kind as she could have been said "I will say something to the manger." My friend and I proceeded to eat what we had ordered and asked for our to go boxes as neither one of us could finish. When we got in the car I told my friend that I had to stop by my home before we went on to our next destination. At that point she stated she had to go home because she wasn't feeling good and asked me to speed our she was going to have a very bad accident in my car. As I dropped her off and made it to my home which seemed to be as close to danger as my friend racing myself to the bathroom not sure which end to turn to........it hit!! So today needless today I haven't eaten a bit and still the bathroom couldn't be close enough. I decided to call the Peking Restaurant to let them know of my health issue, but the gentleman that answered the phone proceeded to tell me I got sick from a different establishment and that I wasn't telling the truth. I called to make him aware, that was all.....BUT NOW I find myself for the very FIRST time in 70+ years telling ALL OF YOU.....EATING AT THE PEKING REST. IS BETTER THAN TAKING THE SHOT OF OZEMPIC (not that I ever did but you know),........... I am sure I had to lose at least 5 to7lbs. They need to close their doors it is very unsafe to eat there and I will never return. read more

Peking Chinese restaurant has been in the Fort Pierce area for quite some time. Right on the east side of US1. Yes, the place looks dated but the food is good. Everything was brought out in a timely manner and tasted good. As we sat down they served us their chips with a side of sweet sauce. Mmm good!! We ordered egg rolls to start - crispy on the outside. And our usual go to when ordering Chinese food: honey chicken and special fried rice The honey chicken was tasty, garlicky and breaded. The special fried rice was really good. Although it didn't come with scrambled eggs like I'm used to, it had the rest of the usual suspects: shrimp, ham, etc, etc. The rice wasn't dry either. The entrees here actually have a unique and distinguishable flavor from one another. Most Chinese places seem to just use the same basic brown sauce for everything making the sauce from the schezuan beef taste indistinguishable from the Mongolian beef or the sha ta beef etc. This place is like your normal Chinese food but elevated and better in its execution and the dishes actually have unique flavors. Service is fast and the ambiance inside is pleasant making it a great sit down spot to go as well. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for Chinese food. I specifically ordered a pint of fried rice because it is obviously bigger than the pint and me and the hubs are hungry. We ordered other things, but we only got a pint of the beef fried rice. This is a very good restaurant. We have eaten there many times in the past and then again for lunch specials today. Everything was delicious and service was very good too. Portions were very generous and included Soup, EggRoll, Fried Rice, Choices of many entrees, and hot tea. Yes, we had enough to bring some home too. We missed having eat in Chinese cuisine since our regular spot changed hands over a year ago. Take out joints just don't do it for us so we took the ride up to Fort Pierce to this long established restaurant. The atmosphere was right; quintessential Chinese restaurant fish tank and all. Staff were all very friendly and prompt. The soup and egg rolls were very good. Special fried rice just ok, needed more ingredients. The pork with veggies also short on selection but tasty nonetheless. Cold Japanese beer (no Tsingtao this night). All in all I think we've found our new place. read more

I like and appreciate a some duck. So I was pretty happy to see a restaurant with "Peking" in the name. 1st time I tried, It was take out and I went with the Roast Duck and some vegetables. To my disappoint, it was pretty dry, and vegetables were bland. I rarely form an opinion based on one experience, so kept it on the places to try. The 2nd time i tried, also take out, I called in and mentioned the previous experience. I asked which would be the best choice if I were to go with the duck again right now, roast or Peking. The guy who answered the phone was really nice. He apologized and recommended the roast duck and that he would personally make sure it was moist. Super excited at this point. When i got home and looked at the "1/2 duck", it was atrocious. There were two severely dried up drumsticks and what looked like a 1/2 of a though or maybe it was a quarter of the back, I'm not sure. It was so shriveled and dried I couldn't tell. My first thought is they served me bones from someone's plate that they cleared up. Maybe they didn't like me mentioning the dry duck earlier? I called the restaurant and talked to the same guy. He said he put in an order for Peking duck on accident. I'm pretty sure it wasn't... or maybe it was since they serviced a few street taco sized tortillas and I'm thinking that's what they were referring to as serving "pancakes" with the Peking? Even it was, Peking being more expensive and all and sharing the restaurant's name, how would you even let something like this out of your kitchen. The guy started chuckling at me while he was talking. Whatever. Brutal food. Overpriced and definitely not worth the $57, especially having passed up so many better, cheaper places to get there. Food is always good, service is always quick. They space apart your appetizers and main meal so you aren't eating food on top of food.
