Called in and ordered General Tso chicken on the lunch special. The menu clearly states it comes with a soup, can soda, or egg roll. I stated I'd like it with an egg roll, and the lady on the phone says, "yeah, it comes with that." From that moment I should have stopped ordering. I arrived to the restaurant to pick up my order within 6 minutes, it was ready and waiting for me. That's the only plus. The meal was disappointing. There was more breading than chicken. Literally chunks of breading and coating with barely any meat inside. When I arrived to pay and pick up my order I was not greeted with warmth. Not saying I have to be serenaded but it was as if this paying customer was bothering her. I placed my debit card in the card reader terminal and after it processed she took it out and put it in front of me on the counter, even though I was literally holding my hand out to receive it. Watched me sharply signing the receipt, guess she was expecting a tip - absolutely not! Will never go back and don't recommend. read more

The food was good and fresh prepared within view. A few small tables for seating or you can take out. The only thing I didn't like was that they give you your food in a to go package even if you're staying there to eat. read more

Plum Tree to me has the best Chinese Food in town. I've tried several others and those other places do not compare. They give you your monies worth and will allow you to pay more if you want a little extra. I wish they were open everyday but I know people need a day off. We live about 2 miles from here & we are in here every week ordering food. Never, ever had a problem in the 14 years we've been going here. Soups, dumplings, chicken, beef, seafood, always good. Plus I like it personally because of the large amount of beef or chicken they give you (compared to all the other places in Vero Beach). I think the other reviews on here are wrong & fake. (Look at their so called 'reviews' and lack of amount of reviews. Latest scam). read more

Ordered their version of almond boneless chicken; on the menu sans almond. Dried out coating, no gravy, smallest portion of rice I've ever seen. As a gag I chewed the fortune cookie whole, turns out the fortune itself was the tastiest part. Companions meal was bit much better. In short, if you've never had better, it's probably okay. FIRST we have eaten from many chinese take out places and this was subpar. we ordered a Mongolian Beef Combo which should have lots of beef, some greens, some onions and fried rice.. WHAT IT HAD...was two little pieces of beef, LOT OF ONIONS AND GREEN ONIONS and poorly fried rice with no pork. was supposed to have had pork fried rice. Absolute worst item, combo and poorly prepared food ever. NEVER going back. If I wanted to saute some onions and gorge myself on nothing but I could have done that at home for 25 cents. read more

Not good. I had high hopes for this because its near us. We ordered 2 combo plates. The fried rice was yellow rice you get in the grocery store with a few veggies in it, the egg foo young was 2 little pathetic patties with a gross brown gravy if you even want to call it that. I ordered from there two weeks ago. It was my first experience and it was freaking awesome. I normally go to number 1 Wok however the last few times have been rotten vegetables put in our food and sometimes messed up orders. They don't fry the tofu upon request they charge a dollar up fee. When I ordered from Plum Tree there was no excuses given they gave me exactly what I ordered plus more without an upcharge in the food was fresh and excellent I completely give them 5 Stars 10 Stars if they had it. read more

So I wasn't going to post a negative review until I checked my bank account today and realized that someone helped themselves to a tip that I didn't authorize. So first off, I ordered take out. I don't tip on take out. My total was $31.74 and today the total amount on my card was $33.74. Idc if it's only $2. It's stealing. Take out orders don't need tips. You cook the food and put it in a bag. That's all. Beyond that, the boneless ribs were absolutely disgusting. Smelled and tasted like dog food. The wontons in the wonton soup were the same. I literally almost puked when I ate it. Their dumplings were good but that's about it. I'll never be giving these thieves my business again. read more

I often come here on a Sunday night for a take away meal. I usually order a sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and I have no complaints whatsoever about that. Tonight I had chicken curry and theses where the establishment loses a star. Too many vegetables, in particular green peppers and not enough chicken which itself was not all that great. The white rice was fine. All in all I will return to the Plum Tree because they really do sweet and sour meals well and they are not expensive. read more

Have been in Vero Beach for 10 months and this is my go to place for rake out Chinese. Vegetable dishes are prepared so they are not over done. My wife liked the pork dishes. I enjoy vegetable with a brown sauce and some tofu instead of meat. It is fantastic. We have had food from here at least a dozen times. Good price and preparation. read more

Went here to get some takeout as I was doing grocery shopping with my family and we felt like trying it. We kept asking the lady over the counter questions and all she did was point at the menu.. when we actually got our food, it all tasted pretty bland some parts were pretty disgusting. (I got the lo mein and garlic chicken) both were pretty sub par and barely edible in my opinion. The garlick chicken had more vegetables than chicken but they tasted better than the chicken so I guess that's a good thing. The lo mein literally had no taste at all. This is my favorite Chinese takeaway place in Vero Beach. The food is pretty good. The portions are acceptable. The prices are fair. The menu could have more options (e.g. add a "small" size for vegetarian dishes), and the service could be quicker. If you want good Chinese takeaway at a good price, this should be your go-to place.
