Stay away from this place! All they care about is your money . Firs part( eye exam) goes so quick without much more explanation about your vision concern , but the second part of the appointment is what care the most for , they are trying to get money from you as much as possible , even for the things that don't make any sense. read more

Only after your money! After repeated requests for my contact prescription, I finally received an unsigned, and therefore, unusable copy. After another request for a signed one, ghosted. I buy my contacts through an online retailer to save money. I buy my very expensive glasses from the eye doctor's office. Well, they won't be getting any more money from me or my family. Sorry, game playing will not make me buy my contacts through your office. I will happily pay out of pocket for an eye exam from another, reputable doctor rather than give you another penny. read more

Paid a first visit to Pelham Vision. Interfaced with several members of the staff during my exam and sunglasses selection. Every single member of the staff was courteous, friendly knowledgeable and professional. Dr Tanner is awesome. She and her team provided the most comprehensive eye exam I have ever had. They don't care about you. I've been going to Pelham vision for many years as long as I've lived here and I'm very unhappy after this. I was diagnosed with shingles on my face on Monday and was told to see my eye doctor asap within a few days. They don't answer the phones so I drove over to speak with them in person, asked for something in the next day or two due to shingles on my face. Was told they can't fit me in for a week. I told the receptionist it was an emergency appointment because if not checked and treated, if necessary, lifelong problems can occur-- so please go check with a doctor because I'm positive the doctor has a spot for an emergency situation. Nope. Check with Clemson eye. Clemson eye didn't answer or has yet to call me back after I left vm Monday afternoon, it is now Wednesday night. Pelham Vision should have at the very least offered to put in the referral for me. They don't care about the people on their books. SOUTHERN EYE ASSOCIATES got me in the next morning and every person there was amazing. So that's where I'll go from now on. read more

Buyer Beware. Pelham Vision Center has changed ownership and they no longer offer the one year warranty on glasses even if your vision insurance states they do. I have gone here for 15 years and been amazed at their customer service until yesterday. My glasses broke and they will not fix them even for a fee. Great doc but terrible communication afterwards. Apparently my frames were on back order which I wasn't told until after the expected delivery date. Multiple calls about contacts went unanswered. Took 6 weeks to get what I paid $300+ for. Too bad because I really liked the doc. read more

I have been wearing corrective lenses for over 45 years. My eyes have an astigmatism and about 25 years ago I was unable to wear contacts any longer due to the odd shape of my eye. I had been to many different doctors, mostly ophthalmologists (medical doctors, surgeons), over the years and moved back to Greenville in 1999. I had such screwy eyesight that it seemed usual for me to go to an ophthalmologist, but I decided to go to an optometrist instead. Dr. Woody determined that not only was I very over corrected because the astigmatism was not properly diagnosed, but he also worked with me to come up with a soft contact lense that corrected my vision better than glasses. For the first time, I also learned that my eyes had two particular medical issues that needed monitoring with a thorough explanation. Never had heard that, but these are things that can be helped with some prevention (Keratoconus and Myopic degeneration). Both of these, under health and nutrition management, are under control. Previously I had tried hard lenses, gas permeable, giant toric lenses, etc. etc. and finally was able to dial in something that I can comfortably wear and can see well. There are two sides to this business, one is the optometry (eye exam, vision correctness, diagnosis, etc.) and the other is the optician (fit, focus, frames contact fit, etc.). I have been a patient at Pelham Vision for several years and have been happy with my experiences. Visit today was great. It was my first visit with Dr. Bernardi. He was great - he took the time to explain the exam and his findings. I talked to him about my need for a new prescription for "computer" glasses for work. Completed an exam to determine the single vision prescription I need (my every day glasses are progressive). The staff was incredibly nice in helping me pick new frames and get the new glasses ordered. Happy to still be a patient at Pelham Vision! read more

Horrible experience. This was my second visit. Both times I ordered glasses and both times it was a nightmare. I would be given delivery dates and they would pass with no glasses or phone call. When I called, they didn't know there was even a problem. Always told, "Sorry, it's not my fault". Glasses finally came in, but tint wasn't what I ordered. They also charged me for an expensive digital test and then told me I had to take the regular test because I was diabetic. Poor customer service and always trying to upsell. read more

Drove 20 minutes to get to my appointment and when I arrived they told me I didn't have an appointment because it had been canceled. They also told me they called my wife (also patient) last month to let me know. My wife said she did not talk to anyone. They also did not tell me that my original doctor had chosen not to come back. I have debated for 6 months about writing this review. I have decided that if I can prevent others from having a similar experience then I should write an honest review. A year before my bad experience I saw a female Dr at this practice. Everything was ok with my visit. When it was time for my yearly exam last December I was surprised to find out that my previous Dr had left the practice. The male Dr that I saw was absolutely the rudest Dr of any kind that I have ever experienced. He actually yelled at me! it's also kind of shady that the Dr personally walks you to the optical area. They want you to think that you HAVE to purchase your glasses from them. This is not the case. I left the office in tears. i will NEVER a return to Pelham Vision nor will anyone in my family. No one in the practice will win an award for going out of their way to be nice, but the Dr I saw was beyond rude. Maybe everyone is in such a bad mood because they have to work with him. Who knows? I just know he won't get the chance to upset me again. I wish I could give the place 0 stars. read more

Both My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Tanner and have been very pleased with our exams as well as the office staff. I took my 78 year old mother in law with Alzheimer's (who can be very difficult at times) to see Dr. Tanner. The care that the Dr, and every person we encountered was as always top notch! NOT IMPRESSED. All they were interested in were selling me extra stuff. My eyes weren't "that bad" yet they tried selling me 2 pairs of glasses with different prescriptions. And when I said no, the optometrist was snippy with me and said "well that's what the doctor recommends". read more

I visited Pelham Vision Center for the first time a few weeks ago for my annual exam. Over the years I have switched back and forth between glasses and contacts but my eyes have gotten to the point where I need more than what contacts can provide me. The exam was fine until it came time to dilate my eyes. At this point dilation was nothing new, I have had this done every year since I was little so this was routine. While I waited for the dilation to take affect I went out to the glasses show room to pick out my new pair of glasses. I like many people to do not see the point in spending an entire paycheck on one pair of glasses so I simply asked to see the glasses that my insurance covered. At first I was told they did not carry any for my provider but once I said I would go somewhere else for the glasses they magically had a full box of insurance covered frames. As I stated above I need more than what contact can provide, meaning trifocals. Naturally I told the sales person I wanted the basics and I wanted to keep my costs as low as possible. I understand working on commission and wanting to get paid for your services, but repeat business is more important than a one time client. The sales rep instantly quoted me $400+ lenses. I get that I am young and its all the rage to have transitions so that people cannot tell you have trifocals, however that was an additional $250 dollars when I clearly stated from the beginning I did not want that. In the end after having to ask over and over if that is the lowest cost, what are my other options, I got everything my insurance covered and only had to pay a little over $100 for my glasses. Now, back to the exam. Once the glasses ordeal was over they brought me back into the exam room to take photos of my optical nerves to make sure everything was looking good, this is where my review goes from a 3 star to a negative star if that would be allowed. I was told my Doc. Rachel Tanner that my optical nerves were showing degeneration and that I was loosing my eye sight. They did not know however what sight I had already lost and that further testing would need to be done and that over time this would be much worse and eventually start happening to the other eye. Distraught and out of my mind upset I had no idea what to think or do. There was never once a suggestion that I should see a specialist or get a second opinion. I am not from SC, I am from Iowa, that is where I grew up. I immediately called my old eye doctor who has all of my records from my childhood up to my adulthood and asked if I could make an appointment with her and her team of specialists. She was eager to get me in and I flew from SC to IA just to see her. Her second opinion was the best decision I ever made in my life. When she compared all of my photos from my previous exams with her to my newest photos taken at Pelham, there has been no change. My eyes are perfectly healthy and in perfect structural condition. Just to be safe she did some extra tests to measure the size and depth of my nerves all of which are proportionate and normal. She took the time to ask me questions and go the extra mile, not just take one photo and jump to a conclusion. Needless to say I will be flying back to Iowa once a year for my annual exam. If you are looking for someone to check your prescription, Pelham can easily do that. That I can say they did do right. But beyond that I would go somewhere else, or at least see a different doctor there. My experience at this place caused me extreme and unnecessary anxiety and stress. All of which could have been avoided. read more

Stay Away! They will try and sell you the products they offer, and when you say no, they get an attitude. Also you will be there for 1.5 hours past your scheduled appointment time; I have no idea why they even have scheduled appointments because they do not honor it. If you Love to over pay, get things you do not need and waste several hours of your day then this is the perfect place! The care I received was average. However, I felt like they have a very sales oriented approach and they were trying to squeeze every penny out of me they could. I went in for a FOLLOW UP appointment to check an eye infection and they proceeded to give me an eye exam. When I realized what they were doing, I stopped the exam. Thank goodness because they were going to charge me $200 for it when I have eye insurance that covers it (they don't accept my eye insurance, but accept my medical, which is why I went there for the infection). They also charged me for a full office visit for that FOLLOW UP appointment, which I think is unfair. Also, be forewarned once they have your e-mail & phone number, you will be bombarded with phone calls, texts, and e-mails. I received 5 e-mails, 3 texts, & a few calls all in less than a week. Overall, this place left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be going back. read more
